UNIQUE LEADED GLASS LAMP; GREEN-BROWN PATINA; HANDEL DUFFNER WHALEY ERA
For sale is a classic Unique Company leaded glass lamp. This exact lamp base with the Saturn socket cluster(photos 3-4) and patina is shown in Paul Crists's book"Mosaic Shades II" at p. 47. As you can see in photos 3-7. This base exhibits Unique's varigated green-brown patina. According to Paul Crist, in"Mosaic Shades II" at p. 48, The most attractive examples[of this base] are in a varigrated green-brown patina over copper plate which is virtually identical to Tiffany's famous finish- an achievement that speaks to the experience and professionalism of Unique's manufactory. Photos 3 and 7 are the best representation of the actual color of this lamp base. This Unique lamp base stands 23 inches tall. The bottom of the base is 8 inches in diameter and has Unique's classic counterweight. The base has three ... moresockets with matching 8.5 inch long acorn pulls. Two of the sockets are the early Hubbell sockets with the raised letters"HUBBELL" on the socket shell. These sockets have their original porcelain inserts(photo 6) and mica insulators. At some time in the distant past. The third socket was replaced and the socket shell patinated green and black. I cannot tell the manufacturer of the socket shell as there is a lot of coating on the outside. However. I did replace the interior of that socket with a next generation Hubbell porcelain. All three sockets click crisply and function properly. The lamp has been completely rewired. You can have the old wiring if you want it. The electrical cord has been replaced with a black rayon(cloth) covered cord that is period appropriate. The lamp retains its original black Bakelite plug. see photo 11) The shade is 17 inches in diameter and 9 inches deep. It is unsigned but has has Unique's periwinkle pattern. Variations of the periwinkle shade are shown in Mosaic Shades II at p. 74. All of the glass in the shade is intact with no breaks or missing pieces. ANTIQUE HANDEL LILY PAD DESK LAMP; RARE YELLOW GREEN SLAG GLASS; DUFFNER ERA
For sale is a beautiful documented Handel lily lamp as shown in pictures 1-12. This lamp is relatively rare in that its glass color is not Handel's standard dark green. Rather. It is a lighter striated yellow green. Also the base metal and the metal holding the petals has a lighter golden brown patina that is more in keeping with the muted colors of the glass. The true patina color is shown in natural sun light in photo 3. The true color of the glass is shown in natural light in photos 2& 3. Although the base and shade are unsigned. This lighter colored variation of Handel's lily lamp is pictured(documented) in"The Handel Lamp Book" by Hibel. Hibel& Fontaine at page 30 at the top right. It is also documented at the site leadedlamps.com under Handel lamps. The lily pad base of these lamps were made of cast iron and ... morethus much more difficult to emboss with the Handel mark than the softer pot metal table lamps. Hence, most of these lily pad bottoms had weak lettering(a couple of letters) to no impressions at all. The lamp has been rewired with a period appropriate brown cloth cord that has been spliced at the bottom. See photos 9& 10. The lamp has its original bakelight plug. photo 8) The socket has a GE paddle. Photo 12. The socket works perfectly. The socket shell is spot welded closed at two spots. You can see one of them in photo 2. The shade is 4 inches long from back to front tip(i.e. The front to back diameter) The shade's side to side diameter is 4 1/2 inches wide. The shades front opening is 2 1/4 inches in diameter. It takes one of the narrow pointed bulbs. Unfortunately. The lamp has one panel of glass missing. Fortunately, it is in the least conspicuous spot. The underside. The framing for the petal is still intact. The missing piece can only be noticed by viewing the lamp from the back side(photo 11) or from the underside(photo 12) Because of Handel's overlapping petal pattern, the loss is barely noticable. This is an antique vintage 8 panel slag glass lamp shade. I could not find any makers mark or signature but I did not remove any panels to look under them. It is 20 inches wide by 7 inches high. It has a 3 1/4 inch opening at the top. The frame is in excellent condition. There is one panel missing. All clips are there. This is a very nice looking shade. RIVIERE GRAPEVINE ETCHED METAL OVERLAY TABLE LAMP, TIFFANY HANDEL B+H ERA
For Auction is an Arts and Crafts style overlay slag glass table lamp made at the turn of the century. I believe this table lamp is made by Riviere Brass& Bronze Works of New York. New York. The table lamp is a nice desk size as it stands 22 1/2" tall to the top crown of the shade and is 18 1/4" diagonal measurement or is 12 3/4" square. The shade is 10" tall sitting on its fitter set-up. The shade has a wonderful Arts + Crafts 4 sided shape with that is made up of Green and Beige Opalescent Glass with a crown. The Deep Green Opalescent top is accented with a radically slumped or bent beige opalescent bottom row of glass. The Construction method is that of brass channel similar to the construction of the Tiffany Studios desk set Items. The bottom slumped row is further embellished with a"Grapevine" etched ... moremetal overlay pattern on top of the glass. The base is a single light and has a 4 sided flat bottom. The shade is supported by the shade holder with 3 screws under the socket locking the shade in place. The shade and base are considered to be in excellent condition. There is no broken or cracked glass and no missing filigree on the shade. The base is also in excellent condition and I put felt on the bottom after I photographed it to protect your furniture. The shade and the base are unsigned. There is a raised area on the base that appears to have a number but I cannot make it out. I have attributed this lamp to have been made by Riviere Studio's based on the construction and the Grapevine overlay. This company was made up of ex Tiffany Studios workers and they copied and made similar items to Tiffany. The Grapevine Pattern was one of them. They made lamps and desk set pieces using this overlay. This lamp has been professionally re-wired with the Antique Style brown rayon cord and it still retains its original lamp plug. Antique Handel Era Mission Arts Crafts 8 Side Slag Glass Gothic Superb Desk Lamp
Here's an extremely ornate and beautiful circa early 1920s octagonal gothic style desk lamp. There are 8 wonderful early slag pieces on the top and bottom of the lamp. Encapsulating the light. This is absolutely stunning and is all original as I purchased the lamp 30+ years ago. One of the nicest and most unusual lamps ive ever seen. The original lamp hardware was made by Weber Patents 250 w universal. The lamp is unmarked or perhaps I'm completely missing the makes mark. Heavy lamp weighing 13.4 lbs. The fire slag has beautiful reds, oranges and amber color and is absolutely stunning in the natural light. The solid base is wondrous and has some extremely ornate detail, covered in fleur de lis style designs. Lamp measures roughly 25" tall from bottom of base to top of ornate finial. The shade itself measures roughly 12.5" ... morewide by roughly 12" high and the base of lamp is roughly 6.75" wide. There's one small break/chip in the slag on top of the lamp as seen in the top shade flipped upside down image. The lamp disassembled quite easily as seen in the last picture. For sale is a rare Duffner& Kimberly leaded glass lamp shade only. The lamp base is shown for demonstration purposes only. If you are interested in the Pittsburgh lamp base with Wilkinson heat cap. The identical ceiling mounted version. Albeit with a ribbed edge for heat control, is shown in Paul Crist's book, Mosaic Shades II, at page 241, top right. A copy of the photo from p. 241 of the book is shown as the last photo in this listing. The shade is 20 1/4 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 inches deep. At one time, someone used glue on the inside to stabilize the cracks. I did not try to remove it. Nevertheless, the lamp and glass is still stunning, particularly when lit. Beautiful leaded art glass shade features graduating size light caramel colored segments over a band of darker caramel rectangles, with an apron consisting of 2 rows of colorful turquoise and blended color segments separated by light caramel segments and connected by alternating jewel-like green and red tapered oval pieces. Beautiful Pairpoint Western Ocean lamp with Seville reverse painted chipped ice glass shade. It depicts 3 sailing ships. One larger than the rest. The shade is stamped on the inside bottom edge, THE PAIRPOINT CORP, I think) shown in photo#9. The base is stamped PAIRPOINT with the P in the diamond logo, and D3076 shown in photos 10 and 11. It measures 22 inches tall overall. The shade is 8 1/2 inches in diameter at the top, and 15 3/4 inches at the bottom. One of the pull sockets has been changed, and the lamp was rewired. Up for sale is this beautiful antique 8 panel lamp shade. It is about 20 3/4" diameter at its widest and about 9" tall to the finial top. This is circa 1910-1925ish. It will need to be cleaned up a bit. The very bottom has iron trim that has some rust, but that was the only spot that attracted a magnet. I believe this was originally a hanging shade. I could not find any makers marks on the shade, I know that sometimes these were marked on the actual hanging hardware, but this is a quality crafted piece.

This beautiful lamp was found at an upstate NY Estate. The glass is white with caramel color streaks. Gorgeous ornate detail to both the base and shade. The metal on the shade and base is non-magnetic and gilded with gold leaf. I do not find a Makers Mark on the lamp so I won't venture a guess as to the maker. This is a large lamp with wonderful craftsmanship. As noted in detail below. One glass panel has a crack CONDITION The shade frame is beautiful with just a few spots where the gold finish has worn- non-obvious places like inside edges. The base has only a couple spots of wear on the finish. Beautiful slag and dark amber glass leaded lamp shade sat upon a Handel base at the home of first my great grandmother and then my great aunt for as long as my mother and I can remember(she is 70) This listing is for the shade only. The base is currently not for sale. There is no marking or signature so I cannot verify the maker- the base was a Handel but that does not mean the shade is. Offered for your consideration is this beautiful bronze(I think) lamp base. It was an estate find. They also had slag shades sold seperately. I think one may have gone to this now that I think about it. The glass on each was partially broken. So I did not buy them(regretting that now) The base stands about 15" tall without the top part connected. With the top part that is pictured connected, it stands approximately 23 1/4" I am not experienced with the knowing the difference between copper, bronze, and brass, so I looked it up. I think this is bronze but does seem to have a brass look to it too. Especially on the inside underneath. It is pretty heavy as well. There is no maker's mark except on the socket it has an H8H and on the other side of the 250 in the middle there is some sort of symbol. I am uncertain who made this but ... moreit looks like the era mentioned in the title. Maybe art deco or nouveau. I'm thinking the earlier of the two. U p for auction is this Magnificient ORIGINAL SIGNED lamp shade and base 1907 Puffy Pairpoint lamp. This is the best deal out there on Pairpoint Puffies. I am offering this lamp at an astronomically low starting bid. The lamp glows beautifully and rich when lit. Use low watt bulbs. As most of these shades were destroyed over the years from overheating. This is an ORIGINAL and Signed on both shade and base. The shade is decorated with pink and purple poppies and thorny green leaves stylized in a yellow basket weave effect. My neighbors absolutely went nuts when I placed this lamp in the front window for display for a couple of nights. This lamp measures 14" tall. The metalwork on the base and stem is a bronze and green finish. Very Tasteful. The original cloth cord still looks excellent and ready to use. The lamp turns on and off perfectly. ... moreThe shade measures about 8 3/4" at its widest point. There is a hairline in the shade that is unnoticeable unless you are looking really hard and look sideways towards the lamp when lit. The hairline runs up a crease in the glass and follows perfectly to the top. The hairline does not run across the top of the shade which is very good. Picture#6 shows the hairline. As you can see. Offered for your consideration is this antique 6 panel slag glass lamp shade only. As seen in the photos. It has fractures in three of the panels. After taking the photos, I taped the front and back of each of the fractures to secure for shipping. You will have to peal the tape off. The repair job was not done well on the fractures, so a couple sections aren't secure enough not to tape. The diameter of the lamp is approximately 17 3/4" It was from an estate of a 68 year old. Up for consideration is an interesting old art Nouveau figural lamp in the form of a piece of sprouting broccoli.The lamp measures approximately 22 inches tall by about 8 inches across. The lamp is made of spelter and iron. The bottom piece is supported by 3 legs but if the lamp was made to be viewed more on one side as there appears to be some highlights that are more detailed on one side more so than the other.There are no chips breaks or visible repairs. The piece is unsigned. The sockets are not original although the main stem and not heading up to the light assembly appear to be original. This is a great old lamp base that supported probably a scenic reverse painted shade. Nonetheless it is of Art Nouveau form and is very attractive in it's own right. Offered is a quality Unique Art Glass and Metal Company lamp. We are fortunate enough to own a variety of lamps by different makers- Duffner. Suess, Handel, Wilkinson, Morgan& Sons and Riviere and none of these renowned makers produced anything better than the workmanship of this shade. The background glass is a caramel and white slag creating a sharp contrast to the floral design. The flowers are a variegated deep and light pink. Each flower has either a red or yellow center of granite glass adding a nice glimmer of interest. The leaves are a deep green and have a fluid vining effect in the apron. The overall result of design and use of glass is excellent. There is a half-round wire, approximately 1/8" wide, that is soldered around the bottom edge of the shade that provides extra strength. This is an identifying trademark of Unique. ... moreThe only thing from keeping this shade from being perfect is one hairline crack shown in the last picture. The shade measures 19" at it's widest point and tapers down to 18" at the bottom edge and stands 6 3/4" tall. The base is a fancy variation of the trumpet base(which is a staple of Unique) and has an original aged patina. There are 3 Hubbell sockets with long graceful chains with acorn pulls. The old cord has been replaced with an age appropriate reproduction Rayon covered twisted cord and an old style plug end. This lamp is fabulous whether it is lit or not and has a pure quality that is indicative of the maker. The base has a diameter of 9" and stands 23 3/4" tall. ORIGINAL MILLER, HANDEL ERA CAST OVERLAY LAMP, STYLIZED TULIPS & FLEUR de LIS~~~
For auction is a wonderful cast metal overlay lamp made by the Miller Lamp Company of Meriden. CT. This pattern is called"Stylized Tulips" and it is a wonderful Art Nouveau design. This lamp is a nice size as it stands 19 3/4" tall to the very top of the finial and the bottom of the base has a diameter of 8 7/8" The shade has a diameter of 14" diagonal measurement and is 12 3/8" flat side to flat side. The bottom has a diameter of 7 3/16" This table lamp displays a beautiful cast metal overlay pattern of Stylized Tulips and Fleur de Lis. This pattern is repeated 6 times. Beneath these overlay pattern is the curved slag stained glass panels and they are done in a beautiful soft tone of green. I would say it is a medium mint green tone. The base has a rich Verdi green finish and the pattern in the base resembles ... morea webbed layered ruffled doily. The base and the exterior metal frame has this wonderful rich Verdi green patina applied. The socket has a single tassel pull chain to turn it on and off and the exterior socket is signed"C GE CO LTD" The base is considered to be in excellent condition and only shows minimal wear. It has some rust spots on the top and bottom underside foot. It has all of its original parts with the exception of the newly rewired brown rayon lamp cord. Even the plug is original to the base. The base is signed with the number"971" and"Miller" in raised relief just underneath. The finial is a signature Miller shape as well. The shade is in equally as good of condition. There are no cracks chips to any of the glass and the metal frame is in excellent condition. There is minor wear to the green patina throughout. The glass in this shade is early Kokomo green glass with a granite texture on the inside. The shade is not signed but there is no doubt that this shade was made explicitly for this lamp base and Not a Marriage. ANTIQUE TIFFANY HANDEL ERA LAMP BASE FOR SLAG & OR REVERSE PAINTED GLASS SHADE
You are bidding on a very unique vintage/ antique brass colored lamp. This has been rewired. With a long cord. The new cord does have a roller switch on it, for easy on and off operation. The final looks to be original and the lamp sockets are marked 1909. This lamp has four claw feet and stands about 29 inches to the yop of the final.

Antique Boudoir Table Lamp Art Nouveau Bradley Hubbard Miller Handel Era Slag
Up for auction is this nice little boudoir lamp with cloth lined shade. This lamp would have never had a slag glass shade. It was made to have a cloth lined shade. It has been nicely restored, it has nice newer gold tone paint. The cloth shade liner was also professionally redone with a patterned cloth and the lamp is rewired with a newer safe cord. The condition is pretty good for its age there is one small cosmetic crack in the shade shown in picture number 5. I believe the crack is from when the lamp was made. There is also some wear here and there on the paint. It measures 14 inches tall, shade is 5.5 inches in diameter. Overall this is a really nice little lamp and would look great in any room of your house.

Fabulous Leaded Glass Handel Solid Bronze Lamp, Tiffany era reduced price
Fabulous leaded glass handel solid bronze lamp. The Handel co. is famous for its reverse painted lamps and run into the thousands. In my 40 years collecting and looking through the Handel books. The leaded glass lamps appear to be quite rare. This lamp has incredible colors displaying a bouquet of orange pinkish tuilips, with there stem and leaves. The shade is signed as shown with a quater inch by an inch signature plate. The shade is 7 1/2 inches tall and 17 1/2 inches wide. the design is one of the most beautiful ones they made. It is in excellent condition and has the beautiful original patina. It features three light original sockets with the distinctive acorn at the end of the pull chains. DESCRIPTION- This is a great lamp by Gorham Lamp co c1905. It has a great classical look and feel. The hundred year old granite glass gives the room a great warm feel. It does have a little more masculine feel then a lot of the bright flowery patterns that try to compete with Tiffany during the period. This would make a great addition to your parlor or tap room.
