Antique Pittsburgh Reverse Painted Endless Wave Lamp
This is a Pittsburgh endless wave reverse painted shade. The lamp and shade are in great condition. There is one small imperfection in the paint on the inside that you can hardly see when lit. The wave scene goes around the whole shade. I see 4 birds painted in the shade as well. The base is a nice design with vines. Leaves and flowers throughout. 1925 is cast on the bottom. One socket looks different in color only. Acorns on the ends of the pull chains. Period cord and plug. It's around 23" tall and 16" at the widest point. There is a brass wave design piece attached to the inside and outside of the top of the shade. May be there for repair. I can't see any crack or chips. Works fine, nice lamp.

ANTIQUE RARE PITTSBURGH LAMP BASE FOR REVERSE PAINTED LAMP
Up for your bidding pleasure is a very unusual lamp base. I have seen this base called Rookwood but this is definitely a Pittsburgh base. It is polished brass and etched glass. I have tried to show the etching the best that I can but I don't have the best camera. I have listed a picture. 11, of this base from Pittsburgh's#11 catalog that is the same base with green glass. This base is white glass and has the original Pittsburg ID label on the inside of the body, 1244 1/2. It has beautiful detail in the etchings of long leaves and scroll work and I could find no damage. The base is 18 1/2" tall and 8 1/2" in diameter at the bottom and the brass is in excellent condition. It has 2 pull chain sockets and has been rewired with a brown cloth period cord. This is an antique reverse painted Pittsburgh lamp"Call of the Wild" it is the darker rare shade and has an owl base with the original brown patina. This lamp is in very good condition with a very small chip underneath the lamp cap and finial and is not visible but had to be mentioned. There are 3 sockets with three pull chains. An very nice antique. Circa 1920's, Pittsburgh table lamp. The white metal lamp base retains the original brushed olive paint finish, the matching shade cap and finial. The three brass socket cluster are old brass, but not original to the lamp. In working order with newer cord and plug. The lamp shade has a Pittsburgh paper label on the reverse, and is identified as by Pittsburgh in catalog(see photos. Lamp measures 22-1/2" tall by 7-1/2" diameter, the shade 7" tall by 16" diameter. The shade has six panels reverse decorated with snowy winter scenes, half with figures and animals, the exterior with applied gray enamel granuals as snow. It is without chips(usual grinding nicks to top rim) or cracks, decorations unworn. The lamp base has some flaking to the paint, white metal without dents ot breaks.

Pittsburgh Table Lamp, Reverse-painted Gold Sun Landscape Shade, dated 1909,1911
I'm pleased to offer this antique Pittsburgh Lamp. Brass, and Glass co. PLBG) reverse painted landscape lamp in near-fine original condition. Great, rare combination of attributes: Style, maker mark, and date. The shade features a nostalgic western mountain image painted in an Arts and Crafts style. Seems to be an autumn scene. With golden sun and rather barren fields between scattered pines and oak. The shade profile is tent-like, with a somewhat vertical panel under a rounded canopy dome. The sockets are dated 1909(Franklin? And one of the pull chain finials is dated 1911. The base has an underside cast embossing that identifies the maker as PLBG(Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass, and Glass Co) model number 1806. Dimensions are as follows: shade diameter: 16-1/2" shade height: 7-1/2" shade mounting hole diameter: 3-3/8" Base height: ... more18-1/2" Total height(to finial) 20" Base diameter: 7-5/8" The pull-chains are 8 and 8-1/2" long. One has a saturn form. And the other is ball-shaped(and has the 1911 patent date) Probably, one of the original switches failed and was replaced with a good switch from the same era. Condition is rare. The paint on the base appears to be original. And the patina on the sockets and pull-chains is deep and even. The silk-wrapped cord is almost certainly a contemporary(and attractive) replacement, but the finely ribbed plug body might be original. See the many pictures below for a thorough depiction of the condition. The shade has some flaking at the edges plus a few very small chips(1/8" or less) The shade top is ground and appears to be undamaged. The paint is entirely solid. With no flaking or crazing. There are some pliers marks on the shade finial. The shade has a few scratches and scuffs. But they disappear when the lamp is turned on. See the pictures below. It works. And the low-watt bulbs will be included. These have been essential to the shade's preservation. Apparently, no previous owner has made the mistake of trying to make the lamp brighter(

For auction is a beautiful reverse painted table lamp made by The Pittsburgh Lamp and Brass Company of Pittsburgh. PA. The shade blank is done in the chipped ice or glue chip method with both obverse and reverse painting on it. The table lamp stands 21 1/2" tall and the Shade has a diameter of 14" and the shade itself is 5 5/8" deep. The shade displays a very vibrant and colorful what some collectors call a"Fire and Ice" daytime winter scene. The colors are just wonderful as there is a beautiful teal- blue for the sky with brilliant yellows. Greens, browns, and lots of a soft orange-red that is blended into the background sky. The winter scenic appears to be an early morning one with the sun rising amongst a fresh snow. You can see newly fallen snow on the pine trees. There is obverse painting of snow to show this. ... moreThere are meadows and small cliffs depicted in this reverse painted shade. The shade sits on a 2 light mixed metal base with an excellent original patina. The style of the base is considered a Ribbed Spindle pattern. The design on the foot's outer edges as well as the column tells me this. There are two original ball pull chain sockets that are in excellent working order. The patina is a Craftsman's brown and is considered a 8.5 out of a 10 for quality level. This table lamp is in excellent condition as there are no major issues with it. There are few factory grinding nicks along the very bottom edge and are considered factory and insignificant. The condition of the shade and base is considered very good to excellent for nearly 85 years of use. You simply do not find lamps like this one anymore. Everything is original except for the antique style brown rayon cord. Even the plug is original. The lamp has a signature up under the bottom side above the weight in the base. Early 1900s Arts & Craft Bronze Owl Base Lamp Pittsburgh Reverse Painted Shade
This gorgeous lamp is just about the last of the items being listed from my late aunt's estate. We have held onto it because we've enjoyed its incredible beauty. But it's time to let it go. This is an antique, circa 1910-1925 Pittsburgh table lamp. It has a bronze base that is very heavy at a little more than 11 pounds. The three sockets are all in working order and, although quite old, they may not be original fixtures. The wiring is worn and should be replaced. The base is representational of an owl/ urn shape. It has a chipped ice surface texture on the glass shade and is reverse painted in stunning sunset colors. In addition, there is some painting on the outside of the glass which gives it a 3-dimensional quality. There are no chips, cracks or repairs that I can detect.
