H A BEST LAMP CO Chicago Reverse Painted or Slag Glass Panel Table LAMP BASE
I have up for sale a wonderful vintage circa 1910-1920s signed H A BEST LAMP CO Chicago. Ill USA lamp base- originally meant for a slag glass lamp. The ring diameter for the ring fitter would be approx 2-3/4" diameter. The lamp is very ornate and has the original antique gold finish. It stands approx 22" no including the finial which may or may not be the original but looks good together. It is in Very Good to Excellent Condition- No damages but a few minor manufacturing mold imperfections- a few small inclusions- basically what you see in pic#2- maybe a couple more but nothing thats any real big deal. No chips. No cracks, No repairs, its as it was from the factory. I am unsure if the sockets are original or not- The top caps have a bright yellowish tint but the bottoms look correct- I am not sure just pointing out what I see. The ... morehas been rewired with a rayon cord and the plug is a newer replacement as well. No manufacturing marks found. Two tone bronze patinas. Base is yellow bronze casting the upper classical urn body is a dark liver patina. I took the base apart looking for identifying larks and showed interior in photos. Light sockets work with original wiring and toggles. this is a slag lamp base from the 1920's sturdy enough to hold a very large slag glass canapy. Only one defect is minor dent in the shadows of side that I backlighted to exaggerate for you to see better. It is not noticable. Found in North Crown Heights. Brooklyn Historic district.

Antique Pittsburgh Reverse Painted Endless Wave Lamp
This is a Pittsburgh endless wave reverse painted shade. The lamp and shade are in great condition. There is one small imperfection in the paint on the inside that you can hardly see when lit. The wave scene goes around the whole shade. I see 4 birds painted in the shade as well. The base is a nice design with vines. Leaves and flowers throughout. 1925 is cast on the bottom. One socket looks different in color only. Acorns on the ends of the pull chains. Period cord and plug. It's around 23" tall and 16" at the widest point. There is a brass wave design piece attached to the inside and outside of the top of the shade. May be there for repair. I can't see any crack or chips. Works fine, nice lamp.

This is really a fabulous Pairpoint table or parlor lamp. Expertly reverse painted on a Berkeley style shade and signed by the artist W. Macy(this artist is specifically mentioned in Malakoff's book) Large heavy shade depicting a forest of old beautiful trees(oak I believe) accenting the heavy trunk and limbs. The almost exact shade may be seen on p. 129 of Malakoff's book. Supported on a traditional Grecian urn base in bronze. Both shade and base signed by the Pairpoint Manufacturing company. Antique Boudoir Lamp Czech Reverse Painted Landscape Glass Shade
This is a very nice Antique Boudoir Lamp with a Reverse Painted Landscape Scene on the Glass Shade and Painted Glass Base with Czechoslovakia Stickers. This lamp includes a beautifully hand painted glass shade. Featuring a continuous landscape of trees, farmhouses, lakes and mountains in the distance. It is painted in beautiful tones of a brownish orange, blue, green, brown and white. Appears intended as a winter scene with snow on the roof, ground and trees. The pattern on the shade repeats once but seamlessly. The base is also very fine glass with the same brownish orange background color, and is hand painted on the outside surface with landscape scenes similar to the shade except without houses. The lamp is 12 inches high overall including the shade, the shade is 6-3/4 inch diameter. The lamp is operational with a 15 watt bulb and would ... moremake a beautiful night light. There is one"Czechoslovakia" sticker taped to the bottom of the shade, and another"Czechoslovakia" sticker glued to the base. No company names or signatures are found. Clearly this lamp is from the electric light vintage as there would be no escape for fuel heat or combustion products, or entrance for oxygen. Looks similar to a Ruckl or a Bellova, but an internet search did not turn up any exact matches. Condition: The shade and base are in very good vintage condition having no cracks. Repairs, or repainting. There is one small chip about 1/8 by 1/8 by 1/16 inch deep in the base at the surface hole where the cord exits. Electrically, the socket and cord look original. The cord has been taped at the exit from the base and the fabric is worn from the cord near the tape and near the plug. Consideration should be given to rewiring the lamp from the socket to the plug. Overall. This beautiful lamp is in very good original condition, is in good working order, and displays beautiful natural landscape scenes when lit. Up for your bidding pleasure is a very unusual lamp base. I have seen this base called Rookwood but this is definitely a Pittsburgh base. It is polished brass and etched glass. I have tried to show the etching the best that I can but I don't have the best camera. I have listed a picture. 11, of this base from Pittsburgh's#11 catalog that is the same base with green glass. This base is white glass and has the original Pittsburg ID label on the inside of the body, 1244 1/2. It has beautiful detail in the etchings of long leaves and scroll work and I could find no damage. The base is 18 1/2" tall and 8 1/2" in diameter at the bottom and the brass is in excellent condition. It has 2 pull chain sockets and has been rewired with a brown cloth period cord. We are pleased to offer this exquisite. Antique lamp. This grand lamp(37" with shade attached) features an ornate, bronzed spelter frame with intricate details. The base of the frame has ornamental urns with bellflower swags. There are geometric circles for contrast. The lamp base houses 4, bent, ribbed glass panels which are reverse painted in a rose or chrysanthemum motif. The base is lighted separately(functions independently) from the top of the lamp and operates with one standard bulb and a pull chain on/off switch. The center section of the lamp features 3 large figural putti. This trio act as the weight bearers for the large glass lamp shade. The opaline glass shade is a light tan color on the exterior and white on the interior. The glass is fairly thick and features a deeply swirled pattern. This is an antique reverse painted Pittsburgh lamp"Call of the Wild" it is the darker rare shade and has an owl base with the original brown patina. This lamp is in very good condition with a very small chip underneath the lamp cap and finial and is not visible but had to be mentioned. There are 3 sockets with three pull chains. This reverse painted hanging glass globe shade is 7 inches in diameter with a 4 inch diameter fitter ring. Decorated on two sides with a parrot sitting on a leafy branch against a pale yellow background. This shade has been cleaned with a mild soap solution. There are small rust color specks in the glass on one side to the left of the parrot and above the branch. This is one of two that was in the hallway ceiling of an older large home. Would work on a lamp also. Find no damage has patina from being old and will need soap and water. Approx 5 1/4" tall top opening diameter approx 2 1/8" outside rim. Bottom opening inside 6 1/4" diameter. These are old you can tell the older glass making minor uneven spots from manufacture are present. The shade may be older than I am calling it late 19th early 20th century. A very beautiful-all original. Signed- reverse painted"Jefferson" lamp, c. 1920s. The globe on the lamp measures 16" across with a circumference of 49. The height of the lamp is 22. It still has the original cording so it will need to be rewired. The lamp is in very good condition, no cracks or nicks. The lamp is signed"Jefferson 2800" and also what appears to be the initial of"D. The Jefferson Lamp Company was formed in 1900 and was located in Steubenville, Ohio. The company moved to Follansbee, VA in it's seventh year. The J.L.Co. closed after thirty-three years of business.

There are some areas of darkening as you can see and a small crack in the cluster body that is shown in photo no.8. Other than that there appear to be no cracks or damage. It is 22 1/2" tall and the base is 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" with 9 1/8" being the widest measurement across the bottom. The weight is a little over 5 pounds. Sockets are marked Monowatt. 1920s MOE BRIDGES GLASS LAMP WITH REVERSE PAINTING AND CAST IRON BASE
This 1920's lamp is marked Moe-Bridges Milwaukee on the base. It stands about 12" high with a cast iron base. The shade is reverse painted with a rose-colored background reminiscent of sunset when the lamp is lit. It has a country scene with farm house nestled amongst trees and wood fence. There are some areas where the rose colored background has faded leaving small spots in areas which I have tried to photograph. So please examine the pictures carefully. There are no chips or cracks to the glass, although the rim feels rough to the fingertips.

An very nice antique. Circa 1920's, Pittsburgh table lamp. The white metal lamp base retains the original brushed olive paint finish, the matching shade cap and finial. The three brass socket cluster are old brass, but not original to the lamp. In working order with newer cord and plug. The lamp shade has a Pittsburgh paper label on the reverse, and is identified as by Pittsburgh in catalog(see photos. Lamp measures 22-1/2" tall by 7-1/2" diameter, the shade 7" tall by 16" diameter. The shade has six panels reverse decorated with snowy winter scenes, half with figures and animals, the exterior with applied gray enamel granuals as snow. It is without chips(usual grinding nicks to top rim) or cracks, decorations unworn. The lamp base has some flaking to the paint, white metal without dents ot breaks.
