Terracotta Classical Style Urn Shaped Lamp w/ Ramsheads, Roses & Swags
This classical lamp is made of terracotta and was likely painted white early on and then stripped. Leaving behind very small areas of paint, in our opinion it only makes the lamp look older. It is 16" to the top of the terracotta, and it is 6.5" in diameter at its widest point. To the top of the lampshade(which is not included) it is 25.5" This beautiful lamp was recently professionally rewired with a 3- way socket and mounted on the brass base. The lampshade is not available for sale and is not included with the lamp.

The lamp is heavy and very well made. There is an impressed mark on the underside of the base that looks like it reads: MADE IN BELGIUM. It measures in total 1 foot 10 inches high. The marble portion is about 1 foot 3.5 inches high and the lamp is 6 inches wide at the figural heads. I would date the lamp to be 100 +/ years old. Stunning 19c Art Nouveau Handpainted Sevres Style French Portrait Vase/Urn converted to a lamp. This lovely lamp is 22.5" tall and 7.5" wide. The porcelain urn is about 13" tall. It has wonderful details of a maiden surrounded by pretty Iris flowers. It is artist signed" Brices or Bricey? Nice gold detailing. The lamp works. But it needs to be rewired for safety. The two lamp chain pulls are different. I did not take apart the lamp or attempt a cleaning- I will leave that up to the experts. There is not a Sevres mark on the bottom of the porcelain, but there could be a mark on the inside of the urn lid. Now for condition: The metal is in good condition and the porcelain is also in good condition with no chips. Cracks, or crazing. There is a lot of gold detailing which is mostly intact on the center portion of the vase. ... moreThere is some minor gold loss on the lid, with more gold loss on the bottom portion of the vase. The paint is mostly intact with the exception of the bottom piece of the vase were there is more paint loss wear and some yellow spots. The lamp stands at just a slight angle, but I think it just needs to be adjusted with the vase pieces and the lamp stem/rod. Please pardon all the reflection/glare lines- these are not flaws. I'm not an expert on this type of lamp, so I've tried to describe as best as possible. Very beautiful antique vase/urn lamp. Art Nouveau French Ormolu-Mounted Crystal Urn Lamp-Possibly Baccarat Early 1900s
Beautiful Art Nouveau lamp with richly cut crystal urn set in what appears to be gilded bronze. With handles shaped like flowing vines and flowers. The design of the urn looks much like Baccarat, but it is unmarked. The height of the lamp adjusts from about 33" to 38" including the finial. Allowing it to accommodate different sized shades. I am unsure if the finial is original, but like the lamp itself, it is very heavily leaded crystal. The height of the lamp to the top of the handles is about 18.25" The wiring is newer and both sockets are functional. The bottom is covered in green felt. The metal shows some surface wear commensurate with age. The crystal looks superb- no damage other than some small scratches and a black spot on the inside(pic#8) The shade is not included. I've found this lamp in my attic 35 years ago. My home was built in the 1800's.We decided to sell it as I haven't had time to do the research, hopefully a collector out there will know. It looks to be cast out of either bronze or brass and the part with the erotic figures looks to be pewter that was hand painted. When we discovered it in the attic it had the first type of old knob and tube wiring on it that had the end cut off, that's probably why the original owners stored it in the attic. This is a beautiful art piece for someone to restore and display with your antique collections. It looks like Roman figures in different form around the urn part of the lamp. Made of hand-carved Italian alabaster in the form of an elongated Green urn or column with gilded bronze mounts. Circa 1960s. Measures about 34-1/2 inches from base to finial. With the alabaster portion about 18-1/2 inches tall and a 5-3/4 inch square base. The lamp is in excellent working condition but has few areas with basically minor chipping(see the shot of the corner for the worst of them) A good overall polishing would do wonders for the appearance of this amazing lamp! Marbro was one of the most expensive lamp makers of the 1950's thru the 1970's. And their lamps are renowned for being of the finest quality.
