H A BEST LAMP CO Chicago Reverse Painted or Slag Glass Panel Table LAMP BASE
I have up for sale a wonderful vintage circa 1910-1920s signed H A BEST LAMP CO Chicago. Ill USA lamp base- originally meant for a slag glass lamp. The ring diameter for the ring fitter would be approx 2-3/4" diameter. The lamp is very ornate and has the original antique gold finish. It stands approx 22" no including the finial which may or may not be the original but looks good together. It is in Very Good to Excellent Condition- No damages but a few minor manufacturing mold imperfections- a few small inclusions- basically what you see in pic#2- maybe a couple more but nothing thats any real big deal. No chips. No cracks, No repairs, its as it was from the factory. I am unsure if the sockets are original or not- The top caps have a bright yellowish tint but the bottoms look correct- I am not sure just pointing out what I see. VINTAGE COLD PAINTED BRONZE ARABIC LAMP BASE MOORISH DESIGN PARTS OR REPAIR! This auction is for a vi n tage lamp base that appears to be cold painted bronze with old polychrome painting. Acquired many years ago from an elderly gentleman who indicated that this was a lamp and had fallen off a table and the tube arrangement that concealed the cord broke off(you can see the hole where the tube was attached) He also said there had been an Arabi an man in a chair mounted on the carpet(you can see where parts were soldered) He had lost or thrown out the parts and this is what remained. You can see a chest with a scimitar and also a moorish style table with bottle type container. The base is not completely level and may have been bent a little when dropped. It is approx 7 3/4" square x 4" tall at the top of the bottle or decanter on the ... moretable. We can not find markings identifying the maker, but the piece is dirty and perhaps something could be foun d. For parts or repair but it makes an interesting conversation piece-weight unpacked is about 2 1/2 pounds. Antique Fostoria GWTW Hand Painted Cosmos (?) Flowers / Floral Oil Lamp Base
Antique Fostoria GWTW Hand Painted Cosmos Flowers(I believe) Oil Lamp Base Cast iron foot is marked" FG" 617" If there is no bid in the first 24 hours we WILL put a reserve on it or END the auction. This GWTW oil lamp base is in great condition! See all pictures as they are part of our description! It measures approx 10 1/2" to the top of the brass rim. The cast foot is approx 6" square. The widest part of the font is approx 7 1/2" wide(at the two feathery leaf designs sticking out on the sides) The inside of the base. Where an oil pot sits(not included) is 4 3/4" in diameter by 3" deep. The glass base/font is in great shape and the colors include greens. Yellows, pinks and a touch of brown accents. There are some dirty spots and possibly some fading. It might come out nicer with a deeper cleaning and ... morepolishing, but will leave that up to the high bidder. I basically dusted it for pics. There are four seams on this glass font. The foot and the front/back don't line up squarely and you can see this in the first four pictures of the front and sides. There are raised feathery/leafy designs in the glass at the top and bottom edges and on the two sides. The two sides have a slightly different feathery/leafy design. There is also a wide swirled rib pattern in the glass. I believe the flowers are Cosmos flowers. Or something similar. I can see some heavy swirls in the glass. Which adds nice character. There are no cracks on this base. But I do see a chip which is on the rim where the oil pot liner sits, although the liner does not cover this rim very well. It could be possible this is not the original liner. The oil pot liner has some wear and some light surface rust. But that is usual for these old lamps. It is magnetic, so it is not brass. The brass connector between the foot and glass font is not magnetic and in good shape. It does have some wear to the finish. But no cracks. The cast iron foot has a slight rock to it. No manufacturing marks found. Two tone bronze patinas. Base is yellow bronze casting the upper classical urn body is a dark liver patina. I took the base apart looking for identifying larks and showed interior in photos. Light sockets work with original wiring and toggles. this is a slag lamp base from the 1920's sturdy enough to hold a very large slag glass canapy. Only one defect is minor dent in the shadows of side that I backlighted to exaggerate for you to see better. It is not noticable. Found in North Crown Heights. Brooklyn Historic district.

The base measure's 7-1/2" The total height of the lamp is 23" One of the clips that hold a slag panel in on the shade is missing. The best I can make out is Plux. You can tell the light socket part is new& the plug at the end of the cord is new. It is in excellent shape and a beautiful lamp. ANTIQUE RARE PITTSBURGH LAMP BASE FOR REVERSE PAINTED LAMP
Up for your bidding pleasure is a very unusual lamp base. I have seen this base called Rookwood but this is definitely a Pittsburgh base. It is polished brass and etched glass. I have tried to show the etching the best that I can but I don't have the best camera. I have listed a picture. 11, of this base from Pittsburgh's#11 catalog that is the same base with green glass. This base is white glass and has the original Pittsburg ID label on the inside of the body, 1244 1/2. It has beautiful detail in the etchings of long leaves and scroll work and I could find no damage. The base is 18 1/2" tall and 8 1/2" in diameter at the bottom and the brass is in excellent condition. It has 2 pull chain sockets and has been rewired with a brown cloth period cord. Antique Porcelain Lamp. Lovely Hand Painted Roses, Marble Base& Bronze Hardware Old vintage. Most probably antique, hand painted floral porcelain marble base and bronze hardware. Rewired with a switch change, but not recently. Transitional style of the upper porcelain section is reminiscent of the oil tank on a Victorian oil lamp which was common with very early electric lamps. There are a couple of scratches to the floral paint, but overall the lamp is in very good condition and the roses are still very beautiful. This lamp would make a great addition to your Victorian décor, home or B&B. Very collectable and authentic 19th or early 20th century.

A ntique oil or kerosene lamp base and shade are hand painted in Gone With the Wind style. Both pieces are milk glass with maroon and pink flowers with white and blue with beading. Each is painted on both sides. The base is more teal than. The shade more blue and shade has a yellow band on the bottom rim. The base is cast bronze or brass with an ornate design and a screw in opening. There is no burner or chimney. It has not been electrified and there are no cracks. There is chipping on both rims of the shade only. There is discoloration around the area where there is paint loss. Possibly from spilled oil. Still good condition for it's age, which dates to the late 1800's to early 1900's and being sold as found, could be a fun restoration project. This is heavy and large. It is offered in as found condition with a chunk taken out of the pedestal form base, best seen in photo#6. It is signed on the base, but I cannot make it out. It has a Meissen style quality. This oil lamp measures approximately 4 1/2" tall with a base measuring approximately 2 3/8" x 2 3/8" in size. One side has a woman in a garden setting with houses in the background. Here is a vintage brass lamp base for a slag glass or reverse painted shade in good working condition. All solid brass. There are some areas of darkening as you can see and a small crack in the cluster body that is shown in photo no.8. Other than that there appear to be no cracks or damage. It is 22 1/2" tall and the base is 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" with 9 1/8" being the widest measurement across the bottom. The weight is a little over 5 pounds. Sockets are marked Monowatt. Not much is know about this lamp. I am not sure who made it. But it has great design and character. It seems to be hand painted with gold and silver floral design that is just beautiful. J efferson reverse painted table lamp. The hand painted shade is 18 inches in diameter and is in mint condition. There are no chips or flakes on the edges and no fractures or cracks in the shade itself. The glass is decorated with an ice chip texture similar to the techniques used by Handel. Although not signed. Based on the design of the woodland scene this lanp has been identified as being part the Prince Charles group as pictured in the Millender books of lamp catalog and is referred to as number L1 888 Woodland Rd. it is also pictured on page 118 in Antique Lamp Buyers Guide by Nadja Maril; Schiffer Publishing. The double socket base appears to have been altered with a different finial top the rewired base measures 26" x 8.5" and there is some scratching and wear on the base as shown in the photos.
