Very Rare Unusual Original 1940's Bakelite Bedside Table Lamp Smokers Ashtray! This has come from a lovely lady who has many original items from her home. This bakelite lamp is very unusual as it has a little ashtray and a place to put a standard box of matches on it- imagine- smoking in bed! BUt it's how life was then. Having said that it appears that this has never been used for that purpose. It was plugged in and being used the standard bayonet fitting will still hold our modern day light bulbs. I would recommend that it be rewired to modern fittings. The flex on this is incredibly long and there is an original bakelite switch which has been dismantled from the flex. Very unusual. The lamp stands at just over 11" high. The base has a fine hairline crack but is only noticeable from underneath.

Poodle Lamp by Corday White with Pink Trim circa 1940's; Fabulous
This lamp is fabulous. It even has the original tag on it. The Corday company was located in Philadelphia and went out of Bussiness in 1948. This particular lamp is in perfect like brand new condition; as is the shade which is the original shade it was sold with way back when. It is truly hard to believe its age; the excellent condition makes it very deceiving. The Poodle is adorable in its pink flowers and bows. It measures 18 in to the socket, and the base is 11 in long by 7 and a 1/4 in wide. The height of the base is 1 in, and the weight of the lamp with the shade just under 8 pounds. The best way for me to describe the lamp is unique, for I know it is original and I have never seen one like it or similar to it before. Offered for your consideration today is this antique 1940's lamp. It is hand carved and depicts an African theme. A woman is carrying fish on a basket. There is also a hut. Palm tree, boat, and pineapple. From the front it stands 12 inches tall. From the back it is 10 inches tall. The lamp is 14 inches around. In overall good displayable/useable condition. Creates a nice glow and shadowing with the cameo work. There are three cracks as shown in the photos. Also a small one at the top. This has occurred due to the age and the heat on this natural material. Very common in pieces such as this. Does not deter from this unusual lamp. A great addition to any fine collection. Old Metal Lamp Base 1940's
Title: Vintage Tiffany-Style Metal Lamp Base. Offering a vintage Tiffany-style lamp base. The base is from an estate in Southampton. NY and the exact age in undetermined. However, the base was used as a lamp in the home for more than 40 years. The piece measures 24 inches tall to the finial. It measures 16 inches from the base to the stem where the lighbulb would be attached. The base is 8 1/2 inches in diameter. Upon applying a magnet to the base, there was no magnetism present. The base is heavy and has an iron piece inside making it weigh approximately 20 pounds. There are no stamps or markings apparent to identify the maker. 1940's Antique Western Cowboy LAMP Metal Cowboy Body with Hat Lamp Shade
Here is a very neat old lamp. I recently found it at a local estate sale. The stuff in this house was extremely old. This was tucked away in the attic neatly stored in a box. The lamp looks like a cowboy, it includes a felt? hat with feathers. The unit is made out of metal, it may be lead. The light bulb acts as the cowboy's head- I am not sure what the original bulb looked like- but a standard light bulb fits the shade(see pic 1 and 2) This lamp is working. It has a standard light bulb recepticle. The body measures about 10 inches tall, and 7 inches wide. The hat and bulb add another 3-4 inches. This unit has a cloth wound original cord(it is somewhat ratty) The lamp has a tan paint which I believe to be completely original. It shows some lights signs of handling but overall is 90% intact. I am not sure how old this lamp is, but it looks ... moreto be around 75 years(1930's-40's) old maybe older. It is in extremely nice condition for its age. There are no cracks, repairs, holes, dents or rust. The hat shade show some light wear but overall is very nice. I could not find any information as to a manufacturer. I could not find any picture or other detail about this item. I looked at 1000's of western lamps and and could not find a picture of a similar unit. I will offer it with a money back guarantee. If you found this at a nice antique store you would have to pay a fortune for it. You may be getting quite the bargain here. Floor Lamp, Antique. Pre-1940, Bronze/brass color
This antique floor lamp is a brass/bronze color with some green paint hilites. It has some patina on it from age and we have not polished it at all. Not sure whether a buyer would want the patina or a polished up appearance so we left it as is. It is 62" tall& weighs 17lbs. The only identifying marks are stamped into the bottom of the base. Which are Milcast& B2007 as shown in one of the pictures. Not sure what the actual type of metal is. A magnet will stick to it. As the pics show, there is lots of detail work. The shade has a velvety feel to it, also with quite a bit of detail. The shade does have some noticeable creases in it and one approx quarter inch square outline of a cut. But no material is missing. Vintage Magnifier Lamp S. Lowe & Sons "The Inspector Lite" Magnifying 5D 1940's
Vintage Magnifier S. Lowe& Sons 5D"The Inspector Lite" Magnifying Lamp 1940's. Very interesting magnifying lamp. I'm guessing the early 1940's. Nearly all original. It looks like only the power-cord has been replaced. Also, there is a 3" x 5/8" lead disk that a previous owner screwed to the underside to add stability(not that I think it is needed) I was going to remove the lead, but decided it doesn't hurt anything, and it does add even more"character. The cabinetry is very solid, with no splits, cracks, or wobbles.The wood is solid hardwood, and to continue with my guessing, I think maybe walnut. The surrounding metal is painted a sort of a textured Army Green. It is the original paint. Like I said. The power-cord I don't think is original, but the rest of the wiring, etc, is. The lamp lights ... moreup-right now-although I think I would re-wire it, if I was going to use the lamp for any length of time, as the insulation on the wiring going to the bulb fixtures shows cracking. The bulb fixtures, themselves, have no cracks or chips, btw. Even the 6W GE"Daylight" bulbs are vintage-and may even be the original-given their brass ends. Believe it or not. There is a vintage light bulb enthusiasts forum, and this is my conclusion from reading the various enthusiasts posts. Brass-ended bulbs, they say, are cool: The rotating on/off switch is also brass, works fine, and looks to be the original. The top section of the cabinet is adjustable by loosening the iron wing nuts(on iron"stove" bolts) at the base. The lens diameter is 4" across. And is 8" above the base, which gives it a 5 diopter magnifying strength. The lens looks very close to being scratch free, with the exception of three pin-head-sized nicks on the top. One near the center, and two near the bottom-right edge. They are very shallow, and you can only just feel them with a fingernail. They are not distracting, to me, but I think a jeweler could probably polish them away without issue, if th

It is satin glass and so soft and smooth to the touch. Bright gilding has faded to a muted gold. The flowers are bursting with life and gorgeous. I believe this is from the forties. I have cleaned the metal base to reveal a bronze-ish top plate and an intricate design scalloped base with remnants of gold tinge. Quite lovely. Metal neck on top appear to be copper w gold left in spots. Original felt base is missing. And easily replaced. This is an exceptional table lamp in the style of Oscar Bach(1884-1957) He was a master of metalwork who came to Germany in 1911 to New York. He was one of the most noted figures in the field of decorative arts in the first half of the 20th century. Oscar Bach was commissioned by many wealthy individuals. And also did custom work for the Empire State Building, Yale University and the Procurement Division of the U.S. Treasury Division, among others. This lamp has no known makers marks on it. It is made primarily of cast iron and has a possible faux mica type finish on the enclosed shade. It appears to be all original( the underside of the lamp shade may have been painted or it may be the original paint) There appears to be no repairs, damage or missing parts. Up for your consideration is a restored and rewired Torchiere floor lamp. It was made between 1900- 1940 and is made from steel and cast iron. It was made in a time when quality mattered and was designed to last a lifetime and now it will last another lifetime. Because of newer electrical standards the. It is 60-1/2” high with a 14-1/2” diameter shade. Because of its size the lamp will have to be slightly unassembled for shipping. The base will have to be undone but will simply have to be threaded back on. No tools or rewiring will be necessary. And the lamp shade will have to be sent separately at my cost, not yours. Rare White Antique Hanging Parlor Lamp with Crystal Prisms 1900-1940
This lamp has a floral print in pink and peach colors with accents of blue and green on both original milk glass globes. Rare rectangular shaped Colonial Prisms. Each 4" long, dangle from the large milk glass shade. A full 29" long(from top of fixture to tip of base) and 14" wide(at its widest point) makes this light fixture a sizable showpiece. A brass linked chain offers a way to customize the hanging length. Although the appearance is of an oil light, this light fixture is entirely electric. It has the original cloth covered wiring and it works(although with lighting of this age, rewiring would be recommended) The globes look amazing when lit. The original brass medallion is included to cover the mounting hole in the ceiling(both a small decorative medallion and a flat brass medallion extension) The milk globes, brass decorations, ... moreand glass hurricane shade are in excellent vintage condition. Most of the thirty-one prisms are in good vintage condition with some chips on the corners or edges. One prism is broken. It appears that there are only four prisms missing. Bellova& Emeralite lamps were the creation of Harrison G.McFaddin. It was in 1909 that the first Emeralite lamp. As we know it today, was produced. On May 11, 1909 McFaddin's patent application for a new, original and ornamental design for lamp shades, were approved. Thus began the manufacture of Emeralite and Bellova lamp's that were to continue for fifty years. The production of Emeralite desk lamps over the years can readily be divided into four distinct period's. The first period began in 1909 and lasted until 1916 and is known as the 4378 series. Deco Nude Diana Lady Lamp, old nickle on brass with nice Flame Shade 1940's
This old lamp is a Art Deco Diana Nude lady lamp with Bakelite fittings and a very old depression glass frosted flame shade. The the lamp is working well. I RESEARCHED THE LAMP AT GREAT LENGTH AND FOUND THAT THE BASE IS BAROQUE STYLE#9813 AND THAT THE SHADE IS ONE-OF-A-KIND. I RESEARCHED IT THROUGH ARTIFACTCOLLECTORS.COM. I SENT THEM PICS FROM ALL ANGLES AND WAS TOLD THAT THE SHADE WAS ORIGINAL TO THE BASE, BUT THAT THEY HAD NEVER SEEN THE SHADE BEFORE. THE GORGEOUS SHADE IS MADE VERY WELL FROM HEAVY PARCHMENT PAPER THAT HAS A NICE COAT ON IT THAT CAN ACTUALLY BE WIPED OFF WITH A DAMP CLOTH.
