Original Art The beginning of the process starts with something to represent what the customer wants as a finished piece. It can be a clay model as in the illustration above. It can be a sculpted or molded wooden model. Something done in metal, something done in wax or any other material that you want to use to begin the process. AMAZING Art Glass Antique Lamp Shade Metal Base Irridescent Quezal? Loetz? LOOK!
Beautiful! Purchased this lamp along with other antiques from an estate of A Naval Rear Admiral originally from the Coronado California area. He had many wonderful items! I cannot find a signature on the lamp shade. Although I may be missing something. Also, there is no felt or bottom covering on the base. The socket is signed, but this is for the hardware manufacturer. Several antique dealers have looked at shade but no definitive answer. Except it is truly beautiful! Multi shades of color accented with a stunning irridescence. The underside of shade has the colors in their more solid form. And on the outside is this wonderful and captivating coloring. Amazing. The rim of shade has no chips, just slight roughness. Shade is excellent. The metal base does has some discolor here& there. The lamp works and cord is fine. Antique Art Deco Bronze Woman Lamp with Marble Base and Art Glass Shade
This lamp has been sitting in my grandmother's home ever since purchased in the 1930's and has sat in a niche in her stairwell for as long as I can remember. Now I inherited it. Had it rewired. The original cloth wiring was in bad shape. It has its original, very delicate glass shade which is held on by two screws(as seen in pictures) Lamp is fragile and glass is only held on by the two screws. It is in wonderful condition for its age. It was purchased in France and it is French in origin. I have yet to see another one like it. Lamp is 15" tall by 7" wide by 7" deep. BRADLEY HUBBARD LILY PAD AND LION PAW BASE - ART NOUVEAU PAINTED SHADE
BRADLEY HUBBARD ART NOUVEAU REVERSE PAINTED TABLE LAMP This auction is for a Bradley Hubbard lamp with reverse painted paneled shade. The base clearly shows the BH logo and has open metal work at the base around the lions feet and lily pads. The top final. Probably a pineapple, seems to match the metal at the top of the 3 lite cluster and is probably original to the base. This base stands about 22" tall, not including the finial. The 3 light cluster appears to have had atleast one socket replaced in the past and the lamp has been entirely rewired and fully functioning. The metal shows signs of wear and light surface rust in a few small areas, mostly around the toes of the paws and edges of the base. The shade is a ribbed bent panel glass with reverse painting. The framework supporting the panels is quite thick and sturdy and extremely ... moreunusual in shape. I did not find the BH mark on the shade. But neither did I remove any panels. If it exists, it is probably beneath the glass up around the vent cap. I strongly suspect that this is the original shade, although I found no reference to either the signed base or the shade in any catalogs or books. This shade rises about 5" high and has an 18" Wide outer diameter. All the panels are bent and reverse painted. The shade appears to be in very good structural condition but shows significant paint loss, mostly to the 3" wide glass skirt. Fortunately, the most significant loss is regulated on adjacent panels with 1/2 showing some loss and the other 1/2 showing significant loss. So, it'looks' better against a wall then in the'round' The shade is almost'true' showing acceptable variances and none of the glass is cracked. The lamp is suitable for use as is and has great'character' It is also a candidate for restoration and there is enough of the painted art nouveau. Wm. Morris type design remaining to restore the shade to original appearance. This shade will ship double boxed and oversized as it requires special considerations

They measure 9 1/4" tall from base to top of socket. As you can see, they both work. The wiring has been replaced to work with American electrical requirements and the switch is located on the cord. (2) Vintage Trench Art Lamps made from M43 81mm Mortar Rounds on Piston Base
Here is your chance to pick up(2) trench art lamps made in the 1940's. The are made from(2) M43 81 MM Mortar Shells and the bases are pistons from the same time period. These are REAL Mortar Rounds that were made safe and used to make these lamps. The rounds have been chromed to match the piston base. I cannot identify the pistons but they are probably from a military vehicle from the 1940's and are in good shape. Both lamps work and both are in great shape. These were made really well and I have provided pictures showing the holes made for the electrical cord as well as the vintage power cord end. The mortar rounds are marked Lot 15- 47- 3FA 81 MM M43 EDB and were roll marked as they did in the 40's. The lamps are 15 inches tall and the piston base is 6 inches wide. Here is a little information on the M43 81MM Mortar: The first ... moreattempt to obtain more efficient trench mortar ammunition was with the development of the 75-mm smooth bore mortar in which the old 75-mm French type shell was modified by tapering the shell from the bourrelet back to the base. And fitting an aluminum fin in the base of the shell. The round was propelled by means of an ignition cartridge inserted in a short cartridge case, and with propelling increments inserted between the blades of the fin. The stability of the round was not satisfactory, and the development was abandoned. A streamlined projectile with fin assembly was then designed for the 3-inch trench mortar with poor results. Several attempts were made with shell of different contours, but proved unsatisfactory because proper stability was not obtained. After World War I. There was an early trend away from the low powered, muzzle-loading Stokes mortar to breech and rifled mortars which were mounted on wheels. The muzzle velocity, the range, and the weight increased, but in so doing, the effectiveness of the trench mortar was decreased in that it lost its simplicity. Which is to the top of finial can be bent/moved to put shade in direction you want. The base is marble and about 5" square, with steam of the lamp, being marble and also part of the lamps have brass. The clear glass is a pressed glass and then another part is clear glass hobnail. The part that holds the finial is adjustable and has Martin Harp Trade Mark Reg. on the inside of the adjustable part. Bright and shiny Electric Floor Lamp by FENSIN- unusual with respect both to design and condition! The manufacturer's label by Fensin which shows Chicago 21. Illinois began in 1943 for large cities. The veined marble-like disk above the base softens the brilliance of the nickel/chrome finish- which appears to be in very good shape. It has a swing arm on the top and the plastic arm on the top has one end which takes a four prong bulb and the other side is empty. Antique Art Deco Figural Elephant Cast Iron Lamp Base. Measures 9 1/8" tall to the top of the bulb holder X 8" tall to the top of the metal bulb holder. Marked on the bottom: P A. for Plume& Atwood in Thomaston Connecticut who started in business in 1871. Heavy cast base with a bronze or brass finish. Trunk up Elephant in a walking step with one foot raised. The base resembles a rock or stone ground with tinges of Red. The Elephant holds a round beaded disk in his trunk that attaches to the flame or lotus like open top. This holds an old paper covered lamp socket with faux candle drip and a Bakelite knob. The original wall plug. Which is included, but has been removed(for safety sake) is a very old rubber plug. The copper shank is included which when recorded will hold the bulb socket. An identical SIGNED base also appears in a Christie's auction catalog of the 90's. This is a very special base. Its design evokes organic root/plant forms, gnarled sinuous tree trunks and branches. a strong Art Nouveau influence. To me it looks like something Antoni Gaudi or Hector Guimard would have designed. Being of natural forms makes it ideal for an Arts and Crafts Style placement but also very modern spaces. The proportions are exquisite. It's just under 14" at pictured. The glass shaft has chips were it connects to the base as in the photos. The mirror has a chip as in the photo but it's on the underneath side(don't know how that happens) The top side you feels is not chipped. The mirror has brass candlewick edge and an ornate brass center band. The base is also footed. The lamp works! Art Nouveau Ice Chip Amber Glass Mushroom Shade Bronze Finish Base Circa 1915
Ice chip amber glass shade in the mushroom form graces this antique Art Nouveau style lamp which features a brass bronze plated square base. 20 inches in height. The shade is in excellent condition with minor rim chips to the edges where the shade sits inside the 10 inch ring shade holder. The outside dimensions of the shade are 12 inches. Handblown and decorated using an acid cutback technique that creates a random pattern on the glass. You see many color striations reminding one of a tortoise shell. On the plug it reads( Made in the USA Pat# 3408618) which tells me that at least the plug was made in the late 1960's) but could of been replaced along with the cord? The Swi tc h is on the top of the Fitter Cap and you have to turn it 2 clicks in order to work. The inside socket appears to be a more recent make but it still retains its original s wi tch and locking ring on the top. The shade is h eld with an after market Ti f fany Style Heat Cap complete with 3 Screw s with Ball ends. The Base is fitted with a 7" Gold Damascene Style Art Glass Shade. The exterior of the shade has wavy bands of Gold Iridescence against a Calcite White body surrounding the entire shade flowing on an angle from the top to the bottom.
