The lamp is 25 inches tall. The shade is 11 in diameter. It is hand painted. The artist has signed it FT Moran. The top globe has 5 pink roses, the background morphs from a pale pink to a soft yellow. The base has smaller roses and more leaves, the background has the same gradual fade from pink to yellow. The raised white paint in some areas has a nice warm, highlighted effect. There are no chips, or cracks in the lamp, there is one little flea bite on the top rim, you have to look for the bite. The bottom is signed PG Co which I am thinking Pittsburgh Glass Co. This lamp has been converted to electric. The metal is brass. The screw that raises ... morethe wick does work and is marked made in US of America. the bass is 8 inches.This lovely lamp would bring a warm glow to any room and would display nicely in a window. Exquisite! This is an extremely nice and rare pair of antique lamps. This beautiful pair features fine porcelain with green glaze paint. And exceptionally hand painted in a floral and leaf pattern. The hand painting is expertly accomplished with beautiful and purposeful brush strokes. The floral design is hand outlined in a gold gilt/gild paint. The porcelain section of each lamp is"footed" in gold and rests upon a circular brass base. The porcelain sections also have a long neck which are also highlighted with gold gilt. There are no manufacturers marks, but the lamps are each signed"La Touche" which is French for"touched" with the meaning of"something that moves you" These lamps certainly will move you as they are spectacular! The burner has open work hearts on the burner and it says Hugo Scheider it measures 11inH and 22in to the top of the chimney it's 16in around the bell form of the base on the bottom which the base is 8 in. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN SIGNED BRADLEY AND HUBBARD SLAG GLASS LAMP LIGHT
Beautiful antique. Marked Bradley and Hubbard slag glass lamp. The base is stamped Bradley and Hubbard in a triangle with a# 260 next to the triangle. The lamp cord looks authentic and still usable. There are two light bulbs which are unusual in shape with six sides, the bulb is marked G.E. Mazda 25W 110V. The lamp suckets are marked Bryant 250W 250V Pat'd Nov 26, 1907. The heigth of the base is approx 19" from the bottom to the top of the screw on to hold the shade. There is a beautiful flowral and leaf design on the base. There is no damage on the entire base piece. The diameter of the base is approx 8" The shade has 8 panels of the same size of approx 7 1/2" from the top of the shade to the bottom. The top of the shade across measures approx 1 1/2" and the bottom across measures approx 5 1/2" Most of the clips ... morethat hold the panels in place are available with just a few missing. The glass pieces are secure and in place. Each of the bottom metal retainers that hold the glass panels in place are stamped Pat'd Oct 20, 08, which means 1908. The screw on top of the base screws into the base and care should be exercised when unscrewing the shade from the base because the screw works both ways, it screws into the base and also can be unscrewed from the base leaving the shade at jeapardy of being disconnected from the base. There are no breaks in the metal works and the glass is uniform in shape and size. The base and the shade are both in the condition as described, no cleaning of any kind was attempted in the possibility of damaging the piece. ANTIQUE Peter Derr gallows/kettle lamp IRON AND BRASS SIGNED AND DATED
Peter Derr(Berks County. Pennsylvania, 1793-1868) brass, copper, and iron gimbaled fat lamp. Stamped P.D 1849, 10' h. I recently purchased the Peter Derr gallows/kettle lamp shown in the attached photo. I don't know much about these lamps and can't find any information on them. Which name. Gallows or kettle, is correct? Why do they have a long shaft with a swivel font? Why did some have lids on the font? They don't appear practical, are they? Sometimes they are referred to as barn lamps. Is that correct? I have also heard they were predominately made and used in Eastern Pennsylvania and that some were also made and used in Europe. Is that correct? Thank you for your help. Answer: The example shown in your photo is the typical style made by the famous Pennsylvania metal worker. Peter Derr. He coined the term"gallows" ... moreto describe his own models, although the term kettle(referring to the shape of the font) is the common term used by most authors, dealers and collectors to describe this form of lamp. The term"gallows" refers to the construction of the U shaped carriage that holds the font, and which sits on the long pole like shaft. The long shaft with a swivel(trunnion) font, and a fixed vertical wick holder, are basic design features of all kettle lamps. The swivel or trunnion construction was very practical, as it allowed the user to tip the font to provide more fuel(fat or grease) to the end of the wick. Some had lids to protect the fuel and prevent spillage. The length of the shaft appears to be more stylistic, than functional. Many examples are much shorter than the Derr design. They were first made and used in Central Europe in the 18th Century, and were brought to America by immigrants. The form was made by Derr and others, and commonly used in Pennsylvania throughout the 19th Century. They were made using a variety of metals, including iron, brass and copper, often decorated with incising on the fonts and/or knops on the shaft, and were also the subject of gifts or dowry.

Antique Metal Slag Glass Lamp, 7 Panel, Signed, RAINAUD #C, Art Nouveau 23"
This is an antique Rainaud lamp. The bottom of the lamp is stamped Rainaud C with the number 30 in the center at the bottom. Parts of the lamp are metal. And other parts are a metal like material. The two light bulb sockets look to have been changed in recent years. The lamp stands 23" tall. And the shase is 17.5" across the bottom. The lamp is heavy. And will need to be shipped in a large box with lots of padding which will be reflected in the shipping price. To ship will be around 20 pounds. I include insurance at no extra cost. In the photos you will see where the paint has faded off of the inside of the glass panels of the shade. The lare glass shade is missing a panel as you can see in the photo. Fantastic Antique Stained Glass / metal Lamp dated & signed One of a kind!!!!!
We have the most beautiful antique lamp for auction. The theme of the lamp is an oak tree with acorns and oak leaves.The base is made of a type of metal. But not bronze or brass. It stands an overall 24" high, with the stained glass shade 6"high by 22" wide setting on the metal base and held steady with metal arms that have gorgeous leaves holding the shade. The lamp is signed(stamped) K. R. T. and dated DEC. 1907 on the side of the base underneath some of the metal work, so I don't believe it was added at a later date. I feel the initials and date are original. It is very heavy and will need to be shipped in two separate boxes. The shade is very simple red& green glass with a glass bead fringe that was added later. There are two pieces of glass that have heat crazing, but the decision was made not to replace them as ... morethey are still very solid. I have many more pictures and I think I can send you more pictures if asked(not positive, but I will try) The lamp has three light bulb sockets, all with there own twist switch that also looks original. I did re-wire the lamp some years ago for safety reasons, but still have the original wiring harness, that will be included with the lamp. We are pleased to offer this wonderful pair of antique. Hand painted transferware lamps. These lamps date to the 1930s. They are a matched pair with the same scene on each lamp. The lamps are footed urn shaped. They feature ornate, pierced brass bases in lovely curved design. The lamps are a wonderful rose color on the tops and bottom sections. These sections have a raised scrolled pattern in the ceramic. This pattern is gold gilt in finish with other gilted highlights throughout. The rose color fades to an antique white to cream in their mid sections. The mid sections are hand painted in an old London street scene. The scene includes a depiction of 18th century travelers traveling to London in horse and carriage. They are arriving at their destination which is the old London"Swan" pub and hotel. For your consideration is a signed brass FARIES flexible shaft bench lamp. The signed Faries weighted base is 5 1/2" in diameter and the lamp stands 25" tall. The lamp retains an old chippy silver painted base that the brass shows through and looks great. The bare steel parabolic shade is 6 1/2" in diameter and has the Faries name embossed. The brass paddle switch socket is a PERKINS and accepts a standard base bulb(bulb not included) The lamp has its original cloth covered wire and an old fashioned two prong plugs. The shade is slightly parted on one seam, see photos. There is a small chip inside see pics 1/8 in. The base is all bronze with a rich green toned patina, all pull switch and socket appear to be original. The shade is a white metal. All glass is original and matching as I believe is the finneal. Up for auction is a pair of antique. Hand-painted, opal glass lamps, signed Peerl, that I recently purchased from an estate. The opal glass and painted images are in excellent condition. They stand approximately 23 inches from the base to the top of the bulb socket, and 31 inches from the base to the top of the harp. The base is approximately 7 inches across and the collar 2-1/2 inches across. I don't know their actual age or if either of the finials are original to the lamps. I also don't know the age of the wiring, but both lamps work(bulbs not included) As shown in the photos the metal base and metal rings/collars are tarnished with some pitting. Antique Slag Glass Lamp Base . signed Rainaud Panel Lamp Base with Final
Here's a Rainaud lamp base for a slag glass shade. This base is straight and true and is not cracked or dented. It is 20 1/2' tall to the top of the cluster and has a 6 3/8" diameter foot. It weighs just under 4 1/2 pounds As you can see there is some chipping to the paint on the stem and on the finial. This would be easy to touch up if desired. The two sockets have been replaced with new Leviton sockets. They have been wired with modern cord and plug. Pic no. 5 shows the signature on the bottom. Rare find! Antique ORIGINAL signed O.C. WHITE industrial task light work lamp. Clearly signed in two places. One being the brass fitting at the end(ready for another shaft and knuckle coupler! and the other at the steel joint near the socket. The shade is clearly marked"Hubbell" Good original condition. DISPLAYS GREAT. Paint wear, couple dents, etc. Length of the shaft is 8 1/2" not including either of the fittings. Tested and works! I think it is wonderful and represents the very best of the Craftsmanship and pure Artistic output of Massachusetts and New England during the 1900`s all the way into the early Thirties. I also believe this is all original except for the obvious replacement of one of the Lampholders. They will never again make Lamps like this.using these materials and methods. In the manner these works of Art were created and manufactured. I like to imagine that working in these shops was Fun and Productive. I imagine an artist/designer coming up with a idea. then drawing a sketch, then each worker responsible for his or her part of the product fabricating or producing their best interpretation of the Sketch using the materials and methods on site.
