The bottom buffet has double doors on either side with shelves and compartments for storage. Both sides have lights that turn on when the doors are opened. Down the center there are(4) drawers. The top one is compartmentalized for silverware. The top cabinet has two sets of double doors which enclose two areas. Each one has a height adjustable glass shelf. Both areas have a light at the top controlled by a switch on each light. Overall the unit is in fantastic condition with minimal wear, less than what I would expect for a 50 year old piece. Mid Century Drexel Declaration 10-Drawer Dresser / Sideboard by Kipp Stewart
This is a beautiful 10 drawer dresser designed by Kipp Stewart and Stewart MacDougal for the Drexel Declaration collection. One of Drexel's most well known and liked collections. This piece was known for nice clean lines and tall legs. Each of the 10 drawers slide easily and smoothly. It has an amazing wood grain as seen in pic#6. The wood in amazing condition but shows a lighter shade where a mirror used to sit on the top(pic#8) and a very minor chip(pic#9) This is made of walnut and has the original ceramic white drawer pulls. DESCRIPTION: Nice vintage bar or serving cart in walnut( with a white formica top. Handles at both ends. Brass caps to foot rollers. Strong and sturdy(table does not come apart) Lower cross bars are flat on top surface so this may have had removable tray at one point. A tray or glass/stone slab could still be added to the lower rails for extra storage. Maker unknown. But the angled leg design is reminiscent of Greta Grossman or Cesare Lacca. Sideboard / Credenza Kipp Stewart Eames era Midcentury modern atomic Ranch
Up for auction is the nicest example of Drexel Declaration Buffet/Hutch I've seen. It has the original sales floor tag. And product literature. It's a beautiful piece. I have the matching table and chairs in another auction- check it out. All pieces have the same date code, and were manufactured at the same time for the same customer. This auction is for the pieces you see pictured here. They include the sideboard and four door glass hutch with all associated shelves, hardware, and literature. The wood is american walnut, and its a stunner in person. The sideboard could be used alone. It's very nice. It has built in lighting in the left and right door sections. A mechanism activates the light when the doors are opened. It takes a standard sized(edison) bulb. There are plugs for these lights on the back of the piece(see pics) The ... moreright door section has dividers for serving trays. Etc. The drawers are quality dovetail jointed. The top drawer has dividers for knives, forks, etc. This piece can house a lot of tableware. There is a notable scratch on the top(see pic) It can be covered by shifting the hutch portion to the left creating a modern asymmetric look. It did;t really bother us much, so we kept the hutch in the middle(as shown) The upper hutch section is a beauty. It has four solid walnut framed glass doors. And houses a set of four white"milk glass" shelves. The shelves are height adjustable. The hutch has built-in lighting, too. A few small fluorescent bulbs can be turned on/off manually with a switch on the cord. This is all original. We housed a complete set of Fransican Atomic Starburst dinnerware, and with the lights turned on a night, it was a show stopper! The condition of the upper hutch is excellent. The original literature is included and consists of everything you see in the pics below. It has the actual"hang tags" that once hung from the knobs on the showcase floor.
