A new addition was the“Wellington Group” for the home, which consisted of modern, rectangular case pieces of olive ash veneer with walnut trim, and seating with woven rattan panels. A companion line of executive furniture was also based on the Wellington line as were several lines produced by the subsidiary William A. Berkey Furniture Co. It features quality mid century construction with brass accents. Appears to me to have a pecan type finish. John Widdicomb Chippendale Commode Sideboard Buffet
This John Widdicomb Chippendale sideboard is a fabulous decorative as well as practical piece. There is a large lined drawer(28" for storing silverware as well as 2 long drawers on either side. Below that there are 2 long storage areas(21" high; 14 1/2" deep) as well as a rounded double shelf area directly underneath the silverware storage. The marble top is in tones of black. White and gold. The top does have some very light scratches caused by moving serving pieces. These are barely discernible. The piece itself is in excellent condition and sold for $18000 new. It is a reproduction of a piece in the V& A museum and is truly magnificent. This piece is local pickup only because of weight.
