The credenza was manufactured by Heywood Wakefield during the 1950s and these pieces have become highly sought after for their superior design and craftsmanship. The credenza is in the M192 style with one full length drawer at the top, three smaller drawers down the center, and two cupboards with a dividing shelf on each side. The credenza measures about 54" in length, 19" deep, and 33" high. Pick-up on the credenza is preferred. But I can arrange for freight shipping for you, once the sale ends and I know your location. RARE Vintage Heywood Wakefield Buffet WALNUT FINISH
This is a rare pre 50's Heywood Wakefield Buffet. Very few of these were made in this special finish(see pic#1 and 5) These were created for a large Michigan based retailer as a private label item. Most often these are found in the clear birch finish or the more light brown"wheat" finish(pictures 2 thru 4) This was obtained from an estate sale in Michigan about 10 years ago and has mostly been in storage. It is a great. Heavy and strongly built piece of furniture! There is one slight scuff on the left side of the top, which looks like a slight"steam" burn. Otherwise this piece is in incredible condition for it's vintage status and rarity! Local pickup requires two men and a truck. This is a vintage Buffet and China Cabinet by Heywood Wakefield built between 1950- 1965. This cabinet is structurally sound but is in need of restoration on the left front end of Buffet. Thick unflawed glass sliding doors help showcase items in the top China Cabinet. The bottom Buffet has two cabinet doors with two adjustuable shelves in each compartment. Three drawers and one larger drawer. Cut-Out center handles for a simple design. This is an unusual piece as it comes with its original two piece cabinet which is easy to seperate if desired. 1956 Original Heywood Wakefield Buffet and Triple Crown Glass hutch. Fantastic condition from the estate of 1st owner. This piece has faired time well and is in exceptional condition considering its age and was used as functional furniture. This piece is currently being reproduced by the company and retails for over $5000.00 There are slight blemishes on the surface of the buffet, scratches from hutch being placed on it. The scratches are under the piece and not visible when displayed as a whole. I have done my best to show condition, please examine pictures thoroughly. The drawers and doors are secure and function properly. The felt lining in top drawer has some staining. Drawers show minimal wear to the interior. I will email pictures on request if so desired. This large crown glass china cabinet(M1547) sits on top of a 2-door 4-drawer buffet base(M1543) Both pieces were produced between 1956 and 1965. They are in the original Wheat finish and are in very good to excellent original condition. Please look at all photos closely. The Wheat finish is a little less pink than the Champagne finish, but our dining room H-W table and chairs were the Champagne color and the difference was difficult to see. There is some slight discoloration in the felt lining of the top cutlery drawer. And there is a small ding along the front edge of the buffet, as shown in the final two photos. BEAUTIFUL HEYWOOD WAKEFIELD SIDEBOARD I bought this from a woman 30 years ago. She had to sell all her furniture to move into a assisted living facility. Now I'm moving to a much smaller place and have to sell my larger antique pieces. This is so solid. about 20 years ago. I had to cover it with a thicker gloss finish, because all the old Varnish had came off, and the wood was unprotected. It turned out nice and is easy to clean.
