Gourgeous inlaid mahogany Federal style sideboard. This contemporary reproduction has all of the hallmarks of one of these iconic pieces. The gracefully curved bow front shape is supported by slender tapered square legs. Contrasting inlay work decorates the drawer fronts and cabinet doors and cascades down the front in a series of bell-shaped flowers. The top drawer has been sectioned off and lined with green velvet. You are bidding on a Henkel Harris Mahogany Sideboard or Buffet(Model# 2350) in the# 29 Finish. This bow-front sideboard measures approximately 52-1/8” wide by 23” deep by 35-3/4” high. The sideboard has two cupboard doors with string inlay flanking a drawer with felt lining above a recessed front drawer raised on square tapering legs ending in spade feet. It also features solid brass hardware and retains its three original keys. The sideboard was fabricated in 1984. The sideboard has normal age-appropriate wear with some surface scratches. I have attempted to show the worst of these scratches on the top of the sideboard(Image 12) After cleaning the furniture with Howard Orange Oil Furniture Polish. These scratches were virtually unnoticeable(and almost impossible to capture in a photograph) In fact, I believe that the scratches appear far ... moreworse in the photograph(Image 12) than they do in person. Aside from these surface scratches, I would describe the sideboard as being in excellent condition. All in all. Late 20th Century Item# 120008YTT26 This is a beautiful benchmade reproduction after the originals of the 18th Century. Probably designed after a Huntsboard. Each drawer is hand dovetailed, the boards planed by hand and joined with pegged tenon-mortise joints. Both large drawers slide easily in and out of the piece, each with clean interiors and original hardware. Structurally flawless, this collectible work by the renowned firm of Eldred Wheeler is in nearly as perfect of condition today as it was when it walked off their showroom floor. D.R. Dimes American Federal Style Sideboard Blue Painted Surface. 2043 Item# 130008RYP12 Typical of all work by the D.R. Dimes workshop. This piece is an exceptional reproduction of an American Federal New England Sideboard. As is the case with all of their pieces, the case is true to the period, every aspect of the piece hand crafted and cut. The plain rectangular top is hand scraped, the light ridges of the plane still evident beneath the chalky blue painted surface, this projecting lightly over the facade of two doors flanking stacked drawers. The drawers and doors have tiny wooden knobs, the drawers hand dovetailed front and back with a deeply chamfered bottom that slides into rabbets along the sides, this secured with nails along the back edge. The apron of the sideboard is simply fantastic, the sharp scroll cut form flowing in perfect ... moresymmetry and adding movement to an overall austere form. Tiny round pegs are visible beneath the paint, joining each part of the tenon-mortised structure permanently in a manner true to the period. The back board is branded"D.R. DIMES" These are investment quality reproductions. Still crafted even today and available through authorized dealers throughout the States.
