They are hand painted in brown on the unique design. The inside top of the shade is rough with what seem like chips but it is the craftsmansh i p of these old shades. They a re heavy and solid but delicate at the same time. They stand 5 1/2" high and the base diameter is 4 3/4" at the widest edge and approx 4" at the very bottom base of the shade. This is a beautiful old glass light fixture shade. It has sharp ribbing all around the piece with a ruffled type edge. The effect when light hits it is very pretty. The actual base opening measures just a smidge over 1.5 inches across and if you include the edges it measures 2.25 inches across. The piece measures 7 7/8 inches across. There are no chips or cracks. But there are some rough edges on the sharp ridges. A nice heavy piece. Great antique art deco/nouveau figural Egyptian Sphinx(made out of what I believe to be bronze) lamp with an exquisite marbled leaded slag glass multi colored shade. The arm holding the shade rotates from side to side. And I believe it is brass. This piece is in excellent condition, the shade is free from any chips or cracks. The lamp weighs over 6 pounds, it's a very solid heavy piece. There is some wear from age to the arm, and some age to the body of the Sphinx, so please look closely at the pictures. I couldn't find any makers mark, the only signature I could find was the"Leviton" which is the company that makes the wiring. I have looked all over. And could not find anything as exquisite as this piece. This is a very unique and beautiful piece to add to your collection. It measures 9 1/2" high. Antique Vintage Hanging Oil Lamp Connverted Top and Bottom Light Up Brass Glass
Nice old oil lamp that was converted to electric. The top and/or bottom light up. There is a small chip to the top rim of the glass shade and very minor spots of wear to the brass. There are 18 glass prisms. It measures 10 inches wide and 20 inches high. It is set up to be wired directly to the ceiling and it hangs down 12 inches from the ceiling however you could add two chains if you wanted it to hang lower. I just hung it from a bungee cord to take pictures.

Looks great when high lighted against the caramel glass in a dim room. I have taken a number of pics in dim light to show this off. The base is solid and heavy to support the large shade. Although unmarked it is probably a Pittsburgh lamp. I have had all new wiring installed so this lamp is go to be used right out of the box but as always use caution and inspect after shipment before use. A amber sphere swag light mid century. Probably 1960's. I think it might be hand blown because of the bubbles in the glass. It is 12" round with a nice piece of walnut attached to the top. The oveall height is 20" with approximate 12' of chain that you can use to hang from the ceiling. The overall condition is excellent except the glass has some scratches on one side. No chips or breaks in the glass. I had it rewired so it should be up and ready to hang.

They have a round fitter end and a tulip shape to an eight sided trumpet rim. Each has a green pulled feather design with a white color at the scalloped rim. The interiors are a gold color from top to bottom. No makers mark. The shades are 4 1/2" tall and each fitter is 2 1/4" across. This striking lamp has been verified as being an early Gillinder and Sons lamp. This pretty little creation is in Perfect Condition without chips. The color on the pup is great. The wiring is old. But is in good condition and may have been replaced at some point in time. The lamp is in working condition and looks good when lit. It must be plugged in ... moreto be turned on. There is no on/off switch. This adorable light is perfect(the way it was made) But it does have a rather pronounced across"Puppo's" back(some refer to this as a mold or straw mark) This is not a crack or damage. But you need to be aware that it is there. These type of shear marks are common in pieces from this time period. We have photographed the area so that you can see this for yourself. The mark is has dirt in it but we did not try to clean it. We wanted our buyers to be able to see it in the photo. There is also a small common stress fracture at the base of the bottom of the shade. This area fits down inside the black base and does not come even close to the top part of the shade that is displayed(please refer to the photo to see this) The tin insert that screws onto the base of the dog has minimal wear and rust(please see the photo) The base of the Dog does have some rust stains(again not seen when the lamp is assembled) This lovely little lamp was made circa the 1920s.
