Handel Piano Lamp with Ribbed Steuben Aurene Shade
Amazing signed Handel Piano Lamp with a Steuben Aurene Ribbed Shade. This looks killer on a piano or mantel. The ribbed Steuben shade mimics the base and they look like they belong together. One small dent on the stem which you can see in the pics. Base is 7 3/4" across. Lamp is 17" from base the the lamp fitting. The Steuben shade is marked and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks even around the top where it fits into the lamp. A couple of tiny discolorations on the shade only mentioned to be accurate. Shown in pics. People always remark on this lamp. This is a beautiful nice sized bent slag glass lamp. The shade is a combination variegated deep carmel bent slag glass with a beautiful look to it. The filigree work is just wonderful and sets off the colors in the shade. The lamp is a combination of brass. Copper, bronze and pot metal with a great golden patinated finish near 100% The lamp stands 20 inches tall. The shade is 16 inches wide and about 6 1/2 inches tall. There are 2 vintage sockets working off of one pull chain. One pull turns on one light, second turns on the second light, third pull goes back to one light and fourth pull turns it all off, it all works well. The lamp has been rewired with correct wiring and works and looks just great. This beautiful lamp is unmarked except for a#1 on the base. For sale is a classic Unique Company leaded glass lamp. This exact lamp base with the Saturn socket cluster(photos 3-4) and patina is shown in Paul Crists's book"Mosaic Shades II" at p. 47. As you can see in photos 3-7. This base exhibits Unique's varigated green-brown patina. According to Paul Crist, in"Mosaic Shades II" at p. 48, The most attractive examples[of this base] are in a varigrated green-brown patina over copper plate which is virtually identical to Tiffany's famous finish- an achievement that speaks to the experience and professionalism of Unique's manufactory. Photos 3 and 7 are the best representation of the actual color of this lamp base. This Unique lamp base stands 23 inches tall. The bottom of the base is 8 inches in diameter and has Unique's classic counterweight. The base has three ... moresockets with matching 8.5 inch long acorn pulls. Two of the sockets are the early Hubbell sockets with the raised letters"HUBBELL" on the socket shell. These sockets have their original porcelain inserts(photo 6) and mica insulators. At some time in the distant past. The third socket was replaced and the socket shell patinated green and black. I cannot tell the manufacturer of the socket shell as there is a lot of coating on the outside. However. I did replace the interior of that socket with a next generation Hubbell porcelain. All three sockets click crisply and function properly. The lamp has been completely rewired. You can have the old wiring if you want it. The electrical cord has been replaced with a black rayon(cloth) covered cord that is period appropriate. The lamp retains its original black Bakelite plug. see photo 11) The shade is 17 inches in diameter and 9 inches deep. It is unsigned but has has Unique's periwinkle pattern. Handel Arts and Crafts Desk Lamp with Brown Mosserine Shade
This rare version of a Handel desk lamp represents the top of the line of the various desk lamps that the Handel Company offered. It is taller than the other versions. Measuring 15" tall, and the shade is also wider than other models measuring 10" wide. The shade is acid-etched on the exterior to produce a textured pattern, called Mosserine, in brown to cream colors, which are more pronounced with the lamp is turned on. The interior of the shade is signed Handel. The base has a rich brown patina. It comes with its original acorn pull cord. The electrical wiring has been updated with a new cloth covered cord that has an on-off thumb switch. The base has a new felt bottom with Handel cloth label. Nice harp style desk lamp with six panel slag glass shade. The lamp is 13 1/2" tall and 9" wide. The slag glass shade is 7 1/2" wide and 4" tall with a 2 1/4" fitter. The harp and socket are brass and the base appears to be spelter. It's been rewired at some point and works well.The socket is the original weber with a patent dated UNO fitter. A very nice antique. Circa 1920's, bronze base boudoir lamp with antique leaded slag glass shade. The lamp base is probably made by Handel, although the shape of the base, and the shade cap, are not pictured in either of the two major reference books on Handel. The shade is probably not by Handel. As presented the lamp measures 15" tall by 5" bottom diameter. The shade measures 4" tall by 5" diameter, the top opening 2-1/4" diameter. It is in working order with original socket, new cord, old plug. Excellent condition: bronze base without dents, original even patina without verdigris. The shade is without damage, secure leadings.

Up for bid a really cute antique miller banquet parlor oil kerosene lamp it has really nice embossed raised fleur de lys and it looks like pewter and solid brass or bronze the lamp measures 20.5H the base is 7in leg to leg top is 4.5 says patented june 28. 1882 the shade is signed handel#1045 it is 33in around and 3.5 top and 12.5H and 4 in on bottom it also comes with a chimney I will include a pic with the shade and pic. ANTIQUE HANDEL LILY PAD DESK LAMP; RARE YELLOW GREEN SLAG GLASS; DUFFNER ERA
For sale is a beautiful documented Handel lily lamp as shown in pictures 1-12. This lamp is relatively rare in that its glass color is not Handel's standard dark green. Rather. It is a lighter striated yellow green. Also the base metal and the metal holding the petals has a lighter golden brown patina that is more in keeping with the muted colors of the glass. The true patina color is shown in natural sun light in photo 3. The true color of the glass is shown in natural light in photos 2& 3. Although the base and shade are unsigned. This lighter colored variation of Handel's lily lamp is pictured(documented) in"The Handel Lamp Book" by Hibel. Hibel& Fontaine at page 30 at the top right. It is also documented at the site leadedlamps.com under Handel lamps. The lily pad base of these lamps were made of cast iron and ... morethus much more difficult to emboss with the Handel mark than the softer pot metal table lamps. Hence, most of these lily pad bottoms had weak lettering(a couple of letters) to no impressions at all. The lamp has been rewired with a period appropriate brown cloth cord that has been spliced at the bottom. See photos 9& 10. The lamp has its original bakelight plug. photo 8) The socket has a GE paddle. Photo 12. The socket works perfectly. The socket shell is spot welded closed at two spots. You can see one of them in photo 2. The shade is 4 inches long from back to front tip(i.e. The front to back diameter) The shade's side to side diameter is 4 1/2 inches wide. The shades front opening is 2 1/4 inches in diameter. It takes one of the narrow pointed bulbs. Unfortunately. The lamp has one panel of glass missing. Fortunately, it is in the least conspicuous spot. The underside. The framing for the petal is still intact. The missing piece can only be noticed by viewing the lamp from the back side(photo 11) or from the underside(photo 12) Because of Handel's overlapping petal pattern, the loss is barely noticable. This is an antique vintage 8 panel slag glass lamp shade. I could not find any makers mark or signature but I did not remove any panels to look under them. It is 20 inches wide by 7 inches high. Antique Emeralite Lamp #8734 X Miller, Bradley & Hubbard, Pittsburgh, Handel
This is a wonderful Emeralite 8734 X Lamp by H.G. McFaddin Co of New York. It stands 14 1/2 inches tall on about a 7 inch round moulded base. The finish is a beautiful deep patinated Brass/Bronze finish and just looks great. The lamp has been correctly rewired and works perfectly. This is a little different than most of the Emeralite lamps. Rather than the wing nut adjustment apparatus for tilting the lamp shade. This lamp has the knob with a screw head in it and is spring loaded to keep the shade in place. To adjust it you can do a short partial turn with a screw driver and then adjust the shade where you want it and back the screw the short turn and then the shade will not move. First spring loaded one I have ran across. Very tight and interesting mechanism. The shade is the normal emeralite green shade, about 8 3/4 X 5 X 3 tall and is ... morein perfect shape, no nicks or cracks, and has most of the original decal present. RIVIERE GRAPEVINE ETCHED METAL OVERLAY TABLE LAMP, TIFFANY HANDEL B+H ERA
For Auction is an Arts and Crafts style overlay slag glass table lamp made at the turn of the century. I believe this table lamp is made by Riviere Brass& Bronze Works of New York. New York. The table lamp is a nice desk size as it stands 22 1/2" tall to the top crown of the shade and is 18 1/4" diagonal measurement or is 12 3/4" square. The shade is 10" tall sitting on its fitter set-up. The shade has a wonderful Arts + Crafts 4 sided shape with that is made up of Green and Beige Opalescent Glass with a crown. The Deep Green Opalescent top is accented with a radically slumped or bent beige opalescent bottom row of glass. The Construction method is that of brass channel similar to the construction of the Tiffany Studios desk set Items. The bottom slumped row is further embellished with a"Grapevine" etched ... moremetal overlay pattern on top of the glass. The base is a single light and has a 4 sided flat bottom. The shade is supported by the shade holder with 3 screws under the socket locking the shade in place. The shade and base are considered to be in excellent condition. There is no broken or cracked glass and no missing filigree on the shade. The base is also in excellent condition and I put felt on the bottom after I photographed it to protect your furniture. The shade and the base are unsigned. There is a raised area on the base that appears to have a number but I cannot make it out. I have attributed this lamp to have been made by Riviere Studio's based on the construction and the Grapevine overlay. This company was made up of ex Tiffany Studios workers and they copied and made similar items to Tiffany. The Grapevine Pattern was one of them. They made lamps and desk set pieces using this overlay. This lamp has been professionally re-wired with the Antique Style brown rayon cord and it still retains its original lamp plug. Antique Handel Era Mission Arts Crafts 8 Side Slag Glass Gothic Superb Desk Lamp
Here's an extremely ornate and beautiful circa early 1920s octagonal gothic style desk lamp. There are 8 wonderful early slag pieces on the top and bottom of the lamp. Encapsulating the light. This is absolutely stunning and is all original as I purchased the lamp 30+ years ago. One of the nicest and most unusual lamps ive ever seen. The original lamp hardware was made by Weber Patents 250 w universal. The lamp is unmarked or perhaps I'm completely missing the makes mark. Heavy lamp weighing 13.4 lbs. The fire slag has beautiful reds, oranges and amber color and is absolutely stunning in the natural light. The solid base is wondrous and has some extremely ornate detail, covered in fleur de lis style designs. Lamp measures roughly 25" tall from bottom of base to top of ornate finial. The shade itself measures roughly 12.5" ... morewide by roughly 12" high and the base of lamp is roughly 6.75" wide. There's one small break/chip in the slag on top of the lamp as seen in the top shade flipped upside down image. The lamp disassembled quite easily as seen in the last picture. For sale is a rare Duffner& Kimberly leaded glass lamp shade only. The lamp base is shown for demonstration purposes only. If you are interested in the Pittsburgh lamp base with Wilkinson heat cap. The identical ceiling mounted version. Albeit with a ribbed edge for heat control, is shown in Paul Crist's book, Mosaic Shades II, at page 241, top right. A copy of the photo from p. 241 of the book is shown as the last photo in this listing. The shade is 20 1/4 inches in diameter and 6 1/2 inches deep. The inside cup diameter for the shade is 3 3/16 inches. The shade is rare in that it's bottom edge has an attractive 3/8 inch wide ring of patinated copper or ... morebrass folded along the bottom. This same heavy edge is shown on the corresponding ceiling mounted shade in the Paul Crist's book. The bluish glass in the shade is a beautiful vaseline glass. All the glass in this lamp shade is thick and heavy. However. There are numerous(about 31) hairline cracks to the glass. Some panels have two. At one time, someone used glue on the inside to stabilize the cracks. I did not try to remove it. Nevertheless, the lamp and glass is still stunning, particularly when lit. UNIQUE LEADED LAMP NOT HANDEL DUFFNER OR TIFFANY STUDIOS
You are viewing an early 1900's leaded lamp made by the Unique Lamp Company in NY. The shade is about 20 1/2" diameter and about 10" deep. The flowers go from pink when it's turned off. Then. To red when they are back-lit. I'm not sure of he pattern, but I've heard the flowers referred to as cabbage roses. One of the flowers has two pieces that are chipped. They should be visible in the close-up photos. The flower next to it to the right has two tight hairline cracks. I didn't notice until a few minutes ago. But the next to last photo shows a close-up of an area which has been repaired. I count around 10 pieces which have been re-soldered. I'm not sure if any glass was changed or not. A lot of these old big lamps pull apart at some of the solder joints. The base is very heavy and stands about 27 1/2" ... moretall to the top of the finial. 1930's Art Deco Handel Lamp Base
Up for sale is a beautiful art deco Handel lamp from the 20's-30's. This lamp measures in at approximately 22 inches tall and the lamp looks to be in pretty good condition. The cord is present but is partially disconnected from the lamp so I could not plug it in to test it. Their is no chips. Cracks, or pieces missing and the metal on the base and top of the black center is beautifully decorated. The felt on the bottom has come half off and the logo is on the bottom. For your consideration I have this absolutely mint and authentic c. 1905 Handel Poinsettia& Honeycomb leaded glass lamp on a bronze base for the serious collectors. This lamp is absolutely massive. Measuring almost 30 inches tall, with a base that's 9 inches across the widest part. The sockets, finial, shade rest, and acorn pulls are all original and have acquired a fine bronzed patina. The shade is an impressive 21 inches in diameter and 11 inches tall. Out of the hundreds of small pieces of glass that comprise the shade. Only a very few have age related stress fractures(I see only one on the honeycomb section) The leading has a nicely aged patina and the shade is incredibly tight and rigid. A lot of old shades lose their structural integrity over the years and will flex and bend to varying degrees when picked up. This shade does ... morenot bend even a little and is a testament to the Handel quality workmanship as well as the wonderful care that the prior owners took with this item. The original copper hook for hanging the sales tag is still on the underside of the shade.something you don't see often(check the 7th photo) The wiring has been replaced with period cloth-covered wire and plug-in. The base is large and stands 23.25 inches in height. The bottom of the base is 8 inches in diameter. The base has wonderful patina, the sockets, the heat cap, the finial and the acorns match perfectly. Circa 1910? The base has it's three original Hubbell neckless sockets. Each socket is heavily embossed with Hubbell. Sockets have matching Hubbell interior and mica insulators. All three sockets work and click crisply. Beautiful Pairpoint Western Ocean lamp with Seville reverse painted chipped ice glass shade. It depicts 3 sailing ships. One larger than the rest. The shade is stamped on the inside bottom edge, THE PAIRPOINT CORP, I think) shown in photo#9. The base is stamped PAIRPOINT with the P in the diamond logo, and D3076 shown in photos 10 and 11. It measures 22 inches tall overall. The shade is 8 1/2 inches in diameter at the top, and 15 3/4 inches at the bottom. One of the pull sockets has been changed, and the lamp was rewired. Antique Bradley & Hubbard Slag Glass lamp Miller Pittsburgh Handel Emeralite
This is a beautiful Bradley& Hubbard Slag Glass Lamp in great condition. The lamp stands 22 1/2 inches tall with a 7 1/2 inch base. The shade is 17 or 18 inches in diameter. Depending on where you measure it, and is 8 1/2 inches tall. The shade is marked in two places"Bradley& Hubbard Mfg. Co. and the only markings on the base are inside the novel area that holds the lamp sockets. It is marked"Pat. Dec. 7, 1920" I find no other markings on the base. The sculpted base and shade have well defined laurel leaves, flowers and ribbon garlands. The finish is a beautiful variegated antique gold and is about all there. The lamp has been correctly rewired and works perfect. The shade is complete with no cracks. There are a couple small missing pieces of filigree on the bottom of the shade that do not detract from the lamp. See ... morethe 2 pictures of the B& H markings on the shade. Note that one has 2 Mickey Mouse ears below it at the edge and the other only has one.

Antique Pittsburgh Lamp made c. 1920s. The lamp is about 21 inches high x 14 inches wide. Base is 8 inches wide at the bottom. The shade is reverse painted and the Chipped Ice type of shade which measures 14 inches in diameter. Bronze base is marked PLB&G Co 2047 and has the same on the wing nuts on the harp. Up for sale is this beautiful antique 8 panel lamp shade. It is about 20 3/4" diameter at its widest and about 9" tall to the finial top. This is circa 1910-1925ish. It will need to be cleaned up a bit. The very bottom has iron trim that has some rust, but that was the only spot that attracted a magnet. I believe this was originally a hanging shade. I could not find any makers marks on the shade, I know that sometimes these were marked on the actual hanging hardware, but this is a quality crafted piece.

One green panel has a repaired crack, it's hard to tell, with the overlay you don't see it at all. The last two photo's show the crack, inside& outside view. This lamp shade has been reverse painted with green on the inside and pink chrysanthemums on the outside. The flowers are beautifully done! The inside has a nice frosted pebbled finish. The top rim has a hand painted gilt border. The lamp is a oil lamp that was converted for electricity. The lamp has detailed scrollwork handles and feet. Also included is a hurricane glass. The lamp shade is Handel. Design 2554, and marked as such. The lamp is made by Edward Miller and is a third version Juno lamp, marked as such. These oil lamps were produced between 1895-1898. This is a fine bamboo overlay Handel desk or piano lamp. Manufactured in Meriden. CT, circa 1910. Patinated metal and slag glass with single socket. Shade stamped HANDEL and base with their fabric label. Approximately 13 x 12 inches. Very nice original condition with no breaks to glass; socket probably replaced. This is a Beautiful Bradley& Hubbard Brass Converted Oil Lamp with a wonderful Green Emeralite Shade. The lamp is 19 inches tall to the top of the 9 inch chimney poking through the top of the Emeralite Shade. It sits on a 6 1/2 inch diameter sculpted and pierced base. I already had another leaded shade lamp from my grandmother with same coloring with three times as many pieces of glass which I had stored.as did not look right with my l. room decor at the time. Then I got this one and had them both rewired as the cord etc. were so worn. We did not know anything about glass.were collectors of adv. tins and signs. Never heard of Handel. Didn't care. The two of the lamps looked good together. Then my friend was taking a lamp to be examined and said"why don't you bring your shades" This man worked for Art Institute in stained glass. So I put the lamps in my car trunk and went. When I opened the trunk.he said"those are Handel's" ... moreHe took them out and examined them. I said there was no mark. He was not concerned. He said that there were fake marked and real marked as well as fake unmarked and real unmarked. He never looked at marks. At any rate I didn't care. I am selling this lamp now.am moving. Selling lots of my signs etc. I am 79) The other shade is even more lovely.don't know if I can part with it. I remember it from living with grandparents at start of WWII.
