Hi for sale I have only two left Antique architectural salvaged wood carved porch Columns or pilllars. I believe the wood is pine. They are painted white and have a chippy patina. 2 soild ~4 sided pieces. Photos 1- 7 show the full piece columns. 8-12 show the 1/2 columns. The second photo shows how I have used a pair in my home. Hi up for auction I have a raised corner garden planter or bed. Made from salvaged wood. We have two to pick from. I bought the plans online( they were $400.00) My partner and I made the planter boxes from recycled high school bleechers. All of the picket pieces were hand made from the bleechers. I have added a newel post at the back. The bottom of the planters are made from new wood. The planters are too large and heavy for me to sell at antique shows.The planters are very solid and sturdy. My partner is a professional cabinet maker, so the craftsmanship is top rated. Architectural Columns salvaged from 1895 Historic Geneva Home. This pair of columns was removed while renovating the house. They are interior round. Tapered wood columns that are 64.5” tall and 5 ¼” top) 8” bottom) in diameter. The square at the top end is 7.5” square. The top end still needs to be stripped and is not attached to the main column because it is where they were cut to be removed. They originally sat on two wood boxes but the boxes were unsalvageable. For sale is a fantastic rare set of 8 antique mahogany columns! They are 6 foot tall. The columns are 6 inches across. The footprint of the base and top is 10 inches square. All the bases and tops are included. The carving is wood. Some of the carving is missing. Maybe you know a plaster artist that can replicate the missing pieces. Most of the columns have the missing carved pieces on one side. you can pick up 30 miles west of Chicago in Oswego or you must arrange and pay for your own shipper. Antique Mahogany Newel Post and 12' Railing - SOLID WOOD - Architectural Salvage
Available here is an antique newel post and railing. These are made of solid mahogany. No veneer here. You can't get anything like this anymore! The newel post stands almost 5' high. It is approximately 57" from floor to top of finial. It is in three pieces, a square base with a rounded stand, the rounded post and the top finial. The largest part of the square base is approximately 17.75"x17.75" There are threaded rods on the inside that connect the base and post together, the finial sits on top. There are specks of white paint around the newel post. I will let the buyer decide how to remove it. This newel post is meant to be at the bottom of a staircase. The railing is 12' long and approximately 5.5" wide. It is also made of solid mahogany. The bottom of the railing mounts flush onto the newel post. Hi for sale I have a rare Antique solid wood carved Column. I believe the wood is either oak or mahogany. It is painted white and has a chippy patina. This piece could be used as an accent piece. Table, or plant stand. Only a few others online for sale. This piece measures: 49 1/8" tall x top diameter: 11 1/4" x bottom diameter: 11 1/8" square. The piece was handmade. This column is heavy and large. I put it on the bathroom scale and it had a weight of around 50 to 60 pounds. The column has a knotch at one of the top middle sections( see photo# 6) I believe this was put there so it would fit at a staircase. Antique Vintage Solid Wood Columns Exterior Weathered Pair 90"
Local p ickup is pref erred. I can also deliver with in 500 miles of 08505(NJ) for $1/mile. Please inquire about a delivery estimate before purchase. Here is a pair of big old solid wood columns(not hollow) They are w eathered but in decent conditi on overall. The bases show some rot. As these were stored outdoors for some time. I am leaving the bases attached for the listing. Since some folks may be i nclined to reb uild them; it app ears that these are all one piece. So the base is the same piece of wood as the co lumn. In order to remove them they wou ld need to be cut off. These columns are big and heavy. Probably about 200 pounds each. There are c racks and checks on them. But no major damage. Some of the tips of t he radius details have broke off. It looks like these were small pieces that were added to complete the curve(see pics) ... morethat have since fallen off. There is a little bit of paint on them but not much. I'm not sure what type of wood these are made of. These would make a great starting poi nt for a substantial pergola or archway. Or with a bit of repair these could be used on a porch. Dimensions are: base dimensions are 12-12 1/2" square(not consistently the same) top and bottom trim detail diameters are approx. 12" columns taper from 10" diameter at bottom to approx. 9" diameter at top-columns alone(excluding the bases) are approx. 90 1/4" tall Thanks for lookin g. A Railing with matching Newel Post- It's Not from a Run down a set of stairs- But could be altered or cut down. The Newel Post is: 39-1/2" tall x 7" thick, has a 7" extension on bottom that was secured to a Floor Joist for support, All of it has it's Original Finish- This needs a good cleaning or restoration. The Railing is in an"L" shape, The longest section is 67-1/2" long& the Shorter section is 32-1/2" long. Antique Gilt CARVED WOOD Furniture Post ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE French China Gold
Old Gold This is a beautiful lot of very old carved wood posts with rich gilding. These are just gorgeous- could be French or Italian. Possibly Chinese- with dogwood-type blossoms and crosshatching. I don't see any sign of gesso; these appear to be all hand-carved. This set was clearly once part of something larger. Perhaps a chest or cabinet. All five posts have a backside where joints were made. Four are the same size at 21 3/8" long, the fifth is 15 5/8" long. All are about 1 1/2" in diameter. The quality of the carving is wonderful, and they are in good(though not perfect) condition, with a few nicks and losses here and there.
