CHARLES OCTAVE LEVY STATUE/LAMP (ch levy)
This is a Charles Octave Levy Statue/ Lamp. The lamp works. But after removing old paint from the statue, I started using it as a decorative statue. I do not have the shade to it anymore. I have owned this since 1998. It was a piece that was part of the deal I made buying a condo in N. Miami Beach in 1998. You can still see specs of white paint on it, which I am still working on removing. It is in good working condition, but there are some scrapes that can be seen up-close. A small piece of the plaque on the bottom front that reads"BENDANGES" Ch Levy, has chipped off right under the bottom right bolt on the plaque. But it is also only noticeable up-close. The small round gold plaque made into the bottom of the back side reads"made in France" and there is something else which is too small for me to read. I will get a good ... moremagnifying glass and update this as I learn more! After doing a lot of research. I have only found one piece similar to this one that sold for $4125, but I am awaiting an appraisal and will update accordingly. This is an absolutely beautiful piece that I believe is bronze, but may be a mixture of other metals(spelter) I do not have room for it anymore(along with a few other antiques and vintage items I will be posting. He looks kinda like a French knight to me,could even be from France for all I know,which I don't know,but could just be! Base is wood.Knight(himself) measures about 33 1/2 inches high/ 13 inches across measured from elbow to elbow across at farthest points.WOOD base measures 10 inches round x 1 1/2 thick.Knight measured from bottom to tip of light bulb on staff/ lance measures 42 1/2 inches tall.CORD is very long and has a on/ off stitch on the cord for ON/ off function.I put a small bulb in,plugged it in,and light DOES WORK. By the looks of it he probably was holding a sword in his other hand(the one not holding the pole/ lance)I don't have ... morea sword for him,this is the way I found him. But you can probably find a sword for him on this site or at a local flea market.You know,those guys that sell the sword replicas? Or maybe you have one for him.You'd need about a 15 or 16 inch sword replica for that hand. Now.I do not know what went on top of the lance/ pole,a globe of some sort I am guessing,I do not know what was there,but a small lamp shade can probably be used to improvise. A couple of issues I noticed; his arm that needs a sword seems to have been repaired as I see evidence of where he was probably had a weld job there(see pics#s 6& 7) In pics#s 8& 9.Seems to have had a weld repair done around the neck area,on front going around to the back. Also I notice two small round spots on each side of his helmet where a visor would probably have been hinged on at one time.But visor is obviously missing as no knight would go into battle with his face exposed,perhaps you can fashion a visor for him if you are good with metal working or know someone who does such work.It's still an awesome piece in my opinion. Antique marble and alabaster floor lamp. An amazing piece and rare to find. This is not a reproduction. Originally purchased in Florence. Italy in the 1940's and shipped to a wealthy socialite in New York. From the Art Nouveau era circa 1918. The 6' 2" floor lamp was puported to have been owned by a fashion industry baroness. The entire piece is hand carved and polished by artisans no longer trained in this craft. Great attention to the baby pink folds in the alabaster dress with etching to the hem. Fine detail to the marble strands of hair in the goddess. The gray and white mottled marble globe measures 16" in diameter and splits into 2 halves. Electrifies with a regular 40 or 75 watt bulb. The lady measures 30" tall from head to toe. The marble column is in 3 sections and measures 32" tall and is divided between ... morebase, column and top ring. Hello- This is a very striking floor lamp with original Mica lamp shade. The lamp has some minor flaws such as one chip in the back of the base. Which can easily be touched up with gold paint, and there is some scuffing and dust marks on the shade. The shade is all intact. Antique 3 Graces LAMP alabaster or sandstone figurine vintage nude statue
Antique"3 Graces" LAMP made of alabaster( or sandstone( in wonderful condition. Works well but does have an old cord and recommend new owner replace with a newer one. The socket has been replaced with a new one. No chips no cracks no repairs. A few age spots. The old shade came with the lamp when I purchased it about 15 yrs ago from a local antique shop. VINTAGE DOG LAMP Statue Rare Works ANTIQUE 1930's 1940's Chalkware
This chalkware dog lamp is a very unique lamp. The pic of the red glass lamp globe is the globe that came with it. But I don't think the were meant to be together. If someone knows, please message me. the lamp itself is in really good condition. does have some paint chipping and cracking. Dog looks very good. Standing tall on a rock looking very focused. Beautiful Newel post lamp made in Paris France entitled"Sentier Fleuri or maiden with flowers" by Louis Moreau(1855-1919) Salvaged from a Hollywood mansion built in 1906 she stands 32" tall including lights and has fantastic old patina. The only issue I notice she's missing one of the white ceramic rings on one of the light fixtures( very easy and very inexpensive to replace) It may be replaced by the time lamp is sold. I purchased this lamp at an antique store over 30 years ago. It has been used as a nightlight in my hallway during that time. Unfortunately. We are moving to a smaller home and some items have to go. It is a beautiful brass electric lamp/nightlight. I currently have a flicker style light bulb in it so it looks like a burning candle. Antique Lamp This auction is for a really nice and very well made antique figural statue lamp that dates back to the 1920s or so. The lamp has a really great Art Deco figure on the side that has a bronze spelter body and then a celluloid face. That celluloid face actually comes off easily and it needs to be reglued. But otherwise the lamp is in excellent condition. It has a pedestal on the side that would have held some kind of shade and I believe it would have been a Millefiori style, but that has since gone missing. SquareTrde© AP6 SquareTrAP Here is a very beautiful Antique Art Deco Spelter Table Lamp! There is a very fine circular detailing leaf pattern on the base! I am guessing this Lamp to be from the 1930's. This gorgeous Lamp has a pink shade and stands approximately 17 1/2" tall. It is approximately 11" deep from the outer edge of the arm to the far edge of the shade. This Lamp features a lovely Dancing Lady Figurine with a long. Flowing dress and a wide-brimmed Victorian hat! She has what I'm pretty certain is a delicate hand painted celluloid face and flowing blonde hair in ringlets. Her face needs a little cleaning, but I do not know what to use and do not wish to damage it. No cracks or breaks anywhere on the Lamp, but it does have a few white specks and is dusty and needs cleaning. The figurine is a little bit loose ... moreand need to be tightened on the bottom. The pink shade is also nice, but does have some scratches, light marks and needs cleaning. The bottom inner rim of the shade has roughness around the edge. The cord is marked"GILBERT/ NEW YORK CITY/ MADE IN U.S.A" on the little brown piece that encases the off/on turning wheel. This Lamp lights up and is working all the way! There are no chips but as with alabaster. There are some natural cracks and maybe a repair or just crack at the tip of tail-see pictures below. The light fixture is just a simple small base bulb socket with metal clips; it doesn't fit snugly in the hole and hollowed out area but could be upgraded to something better retrofitted. I would add a longer picture type bulb with normal socket to get more of the cat to light up. Has some dirt in crevices. Measures 12.5" tall and base is 8.25"x5.75" It weighs 11.5 pounds. Antique ca 1920 Art Deco Glass Nude Beaded Lamp Nymph Fairy Statue French Czech
A rare and beautiful circa 1920 French or Czechoslovakian glass nude fairy lamp with exceptional crystal glass beaded wing decoration. The lamp retains the original early 20th century fixtures and silk cord. The base is black glass. There is a small tight crack in the bottom of the base(see pics. The base of the frosted glass figure has a 1cm edge chip on the back behind the left foot(see pics. This chip is only seen from the back and is not distracting or unsightly. There appear to be five tiny red beads missing from her belt buckle. I have plugged in the lamp and it does function properly. The new owner may want to have it rewired as it is nearly 100 year old wiring. The bulb is not included in the sale and will be removed before shipping. I tried to straighten but it is loose and hangs at an angle. sure it could be bent back but not by me. thought about taking arm off for a statue but figured I would let that be your call. she is LOVELY! white felt bottom. old two prong very short cord. the cord measures 22" the lamp in total with harp measures just about
