ANTIQUE SPELTER SCULPTURE GREYHOUND WHIPPET DOG OIL LAMP EAGLE GLASS SHADE 32"
We are pleased to offer this very special lamp. Dating to the 1880s. This beautiful lamp is truly an art piece. It features a large or ornate cast iron base with either pewter or silver plate hardware just above. Seated in the mid section of the lamp is a wonderful spelter Greyhound or Whippet dog sculpture. This beautiful piece is nicely detailed and the collared dog is gorgeous. He is seated upon a pewter or silver plate piece which is incised and resembles a cobblestone or bricked surface. A lall and slender brass column is positioned behind the dog and attached the lamp base to the brass oil reservoir. The brass reservoir is large. It has a few minor dings but is in good condition. There is a area on the upper section which is opened and does not have a cover(see picture 9) I am not sure what this is. The original font has been replaced, ... moreprobably when the lamp was converted. However, it would be very easy to return the lamp to oil burning if you so desired. The lamp has a beautiful, golden yellow shade with Eagle and Star pattern. It is very nice with some minor wear. This lamp is quite rare and exceptional. It is in overall wonderful condition but it does have some minor signs of age and use. It is a gorgeous piece of 19th century art! The lamp is quite large. It measures 24" to the top of the burner. ANTIQUE DESK LAMP SPELTER METAL CHARIOT AND HORSES
Please note that handling time for this item is about a week after payment clears. Antique desk lamp. From bottom to top it stands 22 5/8 INCHES TALL. The base is 12 inches long. And 6 1/2 inches wide. I'm not sure of its exact age or any of its history. I purchased it at an antique store in 1996 or'97. It's in descent shape. The main problem is that three of the front hooves of the horses are broken off and missing. The shade. Which is metal, has come off and needs to be soldered back onto its spokes. As you can see in the photo, the lamp can rotate on its base, so it needs to be glued to the base again. Other than that there are the scratches and chipped paint you can see in the photos. A mouse took one small shallow bite off the rubber surface of the cord(it doesn't go down to the wire) And a small tear in the felt under ... morethe base. Bulbs have been tested and the lamp works. Paper face on clock is marked Made in U.S.A, there is staining to the paper, brass frame, back of clock is metal, I do not know if the clock is working. The stem is there but the fitting that goes over the stem to wind it is missing, there is another stem that moves the hands to set the time, that moves freely, Lamp is in working condition. And the wiring has been replaced somtime in the past, socket looks to be original, but as with any old electric item this should be checked out by an Electrician before use. 1 of the glass panels is cracked and there is a gap on 1 side of this same panel. Looks like some repairs were made to both of the upper corners of the metal trim were they meet, some repair work to the hinge as well, See photos for greater details. The antique Lamp has gold finish spelter(white metal) base and compote like spacer. Not signed but the vases are most likely of Continental origin(possibly French or German) The very fine porcelain was hand painted. The porcelain sections were hand painted with gold and the larger piece has handpainted Roses. The lamp has 2 on/off pull chain sockets. The lamp has a brass finial and fittings. Here for auction is a large bronze spelter Art Nouveau period figural table lamp.The beautifully sculpted figure appears to represent a 2nd Boer war soldier with bold. Determined facial features,and uniform with pith helmet indicative of this time period, 1900- 1920) Total ht. 26 in. The figure alone is 19 in. tall and sits on a 61/2" diameter wood base marked Germany The soldier is holding a flag in each hand although one arm has broken off cleanly as shown in the pictures.I have the intact arm and both flags. This is a Rare antique vintage Art Deco signed Quoizel Pat. Pending spelter cast metal 8" tall Elephant lamp produced by Quoizel Metal Arts by sculptor Arthur Von Frankenberg after his departure from Frankart. The lamp is in good and working condition with it's original cloth cord. There are no breaks or repairs but there are paint chips as seen in photos, this lamp weighs 3 pounds. The fact the Elephant is sitting with it's trunk down makes this lamp rare because this was long considered bad luck and many artists and sculptors opted to not portray the Elephants with their trunk down. A great pair of L& F Moreau spelter and polychrome enamel table lamps. Beautifully sculpted in the art nouveau style. These two are the most beautiful/handsome"Harvesters" you will ever see and they are in pretty nice condition. He' has almost all of his enamel decoration(one small touch up on copper tube) but has been rewired, where'She' is missing quite a bit of the enameling but has what appears to be original wiring. There are shades with these, but with a little hunting, a nice set can be found. They measure about 7 1/4"W at the base x 14 3/4"T to the top of the figures x 33"T to top of the finials. Both of them with attendants holding the horse's reins- on the left is a lady in an 18th century costume, riding side saddle and being aided by a liveried footman; on the right is a knight, in full regalia, being aided by a lesser knight who is in chainmail and a helmet. On the top is a lamp and below that is a round center medallion which has a repousse picture of ... morea castle in the medallion. Below the medallion is the word"Romance" in a ribbon cartouche. This is the type of decorative object that may have been made to come with or without a clock- and this is the rare model that came without the clock. The lamp has its original depression glass shade that had red/ orange and green reverse painted accents. The lamp is in working order, but needs a new cord. JUST A STUNNING PIECE. ANTIQUE GILDED SPELTER WHITE METAL SLAG GLASS PANEL SHADE VINTAGE BOUDOIR VANITY LAMP An antique Boudoir Vanity Lamp Base that is made from spelter( or white metal) and appears to have the original gold finish. It has a raised decoration with swags of flowers and the original pull chain socket that is the size of a night light bulb. The original shade holder is still intact but is very rusty(see photo) It originally took a slag glass or panel lamp shade. The wiring is still old with the silk covered wire and should be changed(although this lamp is working with the old wiring) It measures approximately 11 3/4" high(to the top of the shade holder) x 4" in diameter at the base. The base. To the top of the pull chain socket, measures about 8 3/4" high. The shade holder is about 2 5/8" in diameter(the lip the shade sits on) ... moreand above that it is about 2" in diameter. I have never seen another lamp like this, and I have seen thousands and thousands of vintage and antique lamps! It is stamped on the bottom with the words Art Light, a word I absolutely can't make out, and Co. across from the words Pat Appl. The finish on this lamp is completely original and in amazing condition. With only a few little chips of paint missing which don't detract in the least. The socket, harp and finial are also original, and the wiring has been replaced for safety with reproduction antique cloth covered cord and a bakelite plug. These are divine pieces with intricate detail and are for right and left placement. You will have a hard time finding another pair with such elaborate detail. Antique French spelter metal lamp base with cherubs. This piece is 10 1/2 inches in height. 2 3/4 inches across the bottom and weighs 2 pounds 8.1 ounces. It is signed FRANCE near the base. It is in fair to good condition, with wear showing on most of the raised areas and it looks like there may have been another vine. There are two ground spots where it probably would have been attached that were painted over with the same finish that is on the rest of the piece. Wiring has been done in a way that does not damage the lamp or the brass font. The cord i s brand new for user safety. Stands 29" tall. Made of spelter on the lower half with the top half being brass. The shade is ruby red with very minor roughness around the inside of the rim-it may have had a brass ring at one time. A few minor scratches to the outside of the glass. I tried to show these but they are very had to see. The cherub holds a cornucopia and is standing with a fish on a very ornate base. I just love his sweet little face. W orks perfectly!

Monumental Victorian Nouveau Bronze Patinated Spelter Figural Lady Newel Lamp
Offered for your consideration is a very large newel lamp of the finest quality formed by a neoclassical art nouveau lady lifting a vessel atop her head. From which 5 vines emerge with lighted flowers at their tips. She stands on a black wooden plinth. I suspect that the base metal is spelter, due to the weight, but perhaps it's bronze. The lamp is monumental in size, about 50 1/2" high by 16" wide. The piece is in remarkably good condition. It looks like portions of some leaves may be missing on the vines and around the sockets at the top. The only other possible flaw I see is a line across the base of the woman's toes on her left proper foot where they join her draped robe/gown. It may have been there from the time of casting. As it shows evidence of age. The wooden base shows a line from shrinkage over time, but is still ... morecompletely stable. The patination is lovely, with only minimal signs of wear, likely the result of a century of cleaning& polishing by previous owners. The wiring was recently professionally updated/replaced with fine silk cord and a new plug. I do not believe that the lamp originally had coordinating shades. Per se; I suspect that regular light bulbs were used. As its purpose was to provide useful illumination. Alternatively, a variety of old and reproduction bulbs& bulb covers are available from various sources, if you do not already have them and care for that"look" If you are the winning bidder. I want you to be thrilled with the purchase. Returns, however, will not be accepted, due to the high costs(and risk of damage) incurred when shipping fragile valuable items back and forth. FEATURED IS A SOUGHT-AFTER Antique Figural Spelter Table Lamp Victorian Child Boy Walking/ Strolling Art Nouveau- An original Victorian piece Measures 20 1/2 inches tall. The base diameter is 4 1/2 inches. The open top globe diameter is 4 inches. This is a beautiful antique figural lamp of a young boy who is very similar in appearance to"Blue Boy" The glass shade has a satin or frosted finish. Very smooth great quality, there are starburst and a floral designs either cut or etched into the glass. There are a few small chips around the fitter end which would not be evident when the shade is on the lamp. The fitter size of the shade is 3 1/8" The total height of the lamp(including the shade) is approx. 23" The overall appearance of the boy is very good. Though there are some condition issues, the boy's leg has been repaired ... moreand there are a few small patches showing on the inside of the metal base(they are not noticeable from the outside) His nose is dented a little as well, so this is not a perfect piece. But none of the imperfections interfere with the overall appearance of this beautiful Victorian lamp. The original cloth covered cord has had a more recent cord attached near the base of the lamp. ANTIQUE SPELTER DECO / NOUVEAU NUDE MERMAID NYMPH LAMP
This sale is for a beautiful antique art nouveau spelter mermaid nymph lamp. It measures approx. 18" tall to the top of the shade and the wooden base is 6" across. The lady is probably more of a sea nymph than a mermaid since she has fins on both legs. I estimate it to be around 1910-20. It has a Czech shade but the shade has a chunk out of the rim and has the tip broken off one of its points but still displays beautifully. The wiring looks newer than the lamp and it probably had a pull cord at one time since there is a hole in the shade holder to accommodate it. I think the switch at the back was added later. For the sake of accuracy there is one small hole in the bottom rim on the base as seen in pic# 5. It works well but as with all older lamps. The wiring should be checked.

Antique figural lady spelter/pot metal pioneer farm girl lamp vintage art deco
Working art deco antique lamp. She's a colonial pioneer figural lady. But I don't know a lot about the origin, metal type, or date of the lamp. Judging from the plug, I'd guess 1940`s or 50`s. The paint is the original color, and there is minimal chipping. She's holding a tool that resembles a rake in size and shape. However the teeth are too short to be a rake, at least as far as I know. Or could find online, including eBay, Google images and a bunch of other sites. I believe the base is cast from solid bronze. It is made in a very ornate style with scrolling and leafing, and very fine details. The white satin glass globe is adorned with the most detailed hand formed( vines and leaves applied to it. They look like they have been extruded or maybe hand formed(possibly similar to how you would use a pastry gun) when the bronze was in a malleable state. I'm not sure of the actual process ... moreused to make this beautiful lamp because some of the vines feel like they are actually embedded right into the surface of the glass- and the final product is stunning. Each leaf has a very detailed design that includes a"ruffling" on each edge of the leaves. The vines and leaves have been attached to the globe by what I can only guess is a"melding" of the two materials while they were in a hot or workable stage. If anyone knows what this process is, or knows how it was made, an email would be greatly appreciated. The top section above the globe may have been cast from a different composition of materials than the base was. It is designed with a Roman or Greek style with a column look and leaves that fan out at the top. At the top of the four leaves there is a small hole where presumably a crystal hung down from there at one time. It comes with standard socket switch 2 clicks on and two clicks turns it off. I believe this lamp was re-wired with a new cord and socket sometime in the 1950's-60's. The length of the cord is a bit less than 6 feet.
