Vintage French Brass Oil Lamp , Late 1800 's style of Pigeon Oil Lamp
The lamp is plain brass with no writing on it but is unusual as it has a full sized wick without wadding in the tank. This allows significantly more light. The lamp is in excellent condition with no visible damage to it and the wick winder is in perfect working order. So the lamp can be used, as you can see. This is a antique pair french style metal figural table lamps. These lamps have a wonderful design. Detail, and look. The lamp with the man standing on top of a world globe and he is in robe like clothing with a red bird in his hand. The entire lamp from base to top of the finial stands approx 36" The lamp with the woman also stands approx 36" tall. She is standing on a ship like steering wheel with waves coming along side the wheel. She is also in robe like clothing and has a bird in her hand. I have looked the lamps over and I do not see any breakage. There is as you see in the pictures paints loss over the figural bodies of these great lamps. They are still wonderful in the condition that they are in or you could have them refinished. Like with all antique lighting they will need to be rewired. The woman lamp does have a plug ... morethe man lamp does not. I am unsure of the marker of these lamps because I have not found any markings. We are pleased to offer this wonderful pair of antique to older vintage lamps. The lamps date to the 1940s and feature elegant lines with French or Italian Regency design. The lamps are metal with dimensional acanthus leaves on urn bodies. Above the urn sections. The lamps have a tall, candlestick design. The circular bases are stepped and feature a bottom section of metal topped with pale green onyx/marble. The lamps retain their original finish which is a lovely, antiqued jade or celadon green. The lamps have sockets which were used by Rembrandt and Stiffel during this period. They retain both their milk and clear glass diffusers as well as their elegant fabric shades. The fabric shades are quite striking. They are a fabulous, light jade green silk with a touch of gold trim around the bottom and a brocade/bric-a- brac trim around the top. ... moreThe silk has a jewel tone shimmer in direct light which is fabulous. The shade frames are designed to fit into the notches of the glass diffusers. The lamps are completed with their original finials which are metal fleur de lis finished in the same green color as the lamps. The lamps are in very good condition for their age. There are a few minor scuffs/small chips to the finish in a couple of areas but these are minor and not distracting. The wiring was updated in the 1960s. It is working but it is older. The lamps have an on/off switch both at the base as well as the socket area. The shades are in very good condition both in terms of the silk and the frames. The fabric interior lining is old and somewhat brittle and does have some tears. They can be re-lined. The shades are special enough that they need to be included with the lamps. Overall, the lamps are in extremely nice condition. They are elegant and have a classic, refined character. THEY ARE VERY HEAVY. French-style Cathedral Candlestick Lamp - solid brass
Offered for sale is a solid brass French-style cathedral candlestick lamp. It measures 22 1/2" tall. From the bottom to the bulb socket top-a shade will add another 12- 15 inches or so. The triangular base measures 8 1/2" at the widest point-from paw foot to paw foot. Each of the three sides has a different raised design-Hebrew letters on one side, the"sacred heart" sign on another, and three cherubs on the third. I believe this piece was originally cast as a lamp, and has not been converted from a candlestick, but I haven't examined it that closely. I'm selling it with no shade or finial, so you can make your own choice on style of each. The current shade doesn't merit the added expense of shipping. This is a beautiful antique French style boudoir or table lamp with porcelain flowers. It has its own shade- there is a holder for a candle- which is original to the piece. It is not a wax candle that can be lit. Lamp measures 20" tall by 8" wide and extends back 11" There are some minor chips on the flowers and there may be one flower missing on the bottom right. ANTIQUE FRENCH STYLE CONVERTED OIL LAMP AND POWDER JAR
I purchased this LAMP at auction in the vacated home of Al Hirt. It is unknown whether the LAMP actually belonged to Al Hirt. The powder JAR was purchased separately sometime later. Both are the very same style and color. With the 3-D pastel flowers. These flowers are VERY FRAGILE, and several have broken off through the years. It is hard to tell how many because there are so many flowers and they are very small. It is also hard to notice the damage unless you look closely or know ahead of time. The LAMP has been electrified from an oil LAMP. It is about 9" to the top of the bowl, plus an inch and a half for the metal cap/globe attachment, and the globe is about 8-1/2" tall. The powder JAR is about 5" +. The JAR also has some missing flowers.it's just too hard to tell how many. I tried to show the worst area of damage on ... morethe LAMP in the close-up pic of the bowl. No marks on the bottom. I have listed the shipping as flat rate in the USPS large flat rate box. THIS IS AN ESTIMATE. The eBay auto listing put a range of $18 to $46. This was just too vague. PAIR OF Beautiful Vintage porcelain figural lamps with lace clothing. Damage is noted to the female's dress lace. The male figurine is in excellent condition. The lamps are both in working condition with Brown cords but have different plugs. They are not marked or signed. The underside of both lamps have grey felt on them. The female's lace is slightly damaged and also there was a repair to a piece of her lace(see pictures) Each lamp measures 36 inches from the base to the top of the finial. The oval metal gold bases each measure 7.75 inches x 6.25 inches x 1.75 inches. The globes are a clear decorative pressed glass and the light socket is chrome. The bottom edge of each glass globe has a few small nicks. However once set in the light socket they do not show. The chrome has an aged patina. With no damage or scratches. Each lamp has an on-off switch which is original to the lamps. The electrical cords are the same and in good condition. However the end plugs are different. This can be seen in the last two photo's. The lamps have an Art Deco Flair. Please see photo's.
