Large Figural Silver French Art Nouveau Victorian Newel Table Lamp Jewel Shades
Offered for your consideration is a fine silvered metal newel or table lamp formed by an art nouveau lady in a dramatic pose atop a graduated black marble plinth. I suspect that the base metal is spelter. Due to the weight, but perhaps it's pewter. The lamp is about 40" high by 18" wide and has three attached hammered silver shades with crimson red jeweled medallions at the tops and beautiful beaded fringe around the lower rims composed of a mixture of clear and red beads. The shades are suspended from typically Jugendstil whiplash floral sprays. The piece is in remarkably good condition; I see no evidence of cracks or repairs. The beaded fringe on the shades is completely intact, with no missing strands I can see. The silver plating is still very presentable, although of course there are some signs of wear, likely the result ... moreof a century of cleaning& polishing by previous owners. I have not polished the lamp in the years I've owned it, as I liked the patina. The pictures make the lamp appear slightly more golden than it looks in person. That is probably because the reflective surface is picking up the color from the wallpaper and carpeting in the rooms where I took the pictures. The wiring was updated/replaced at some point and is fine, as-is. I have been using it without fear or problems. If you are the winning bidder. I want you to be thrilled with the purchase. This is a antique pair french style metal figural table lamps. These lamps have a wonderful design. Detail, and look. The lamp with the man standing on top of a world globe and he is in robe like clothing with a red bird in his hand. The entire lamp from base to top of the finial stands approx 36" The lamp with the woman also stands approx 36" tall. She is standing on a ship like steering wheel with waves coming along side the wheel. She is also in robe like clothing and has a bird in her hand. I have looked the lamps over and I do not see any breakage. There is as you see in the pictures paints loss over the figural bodies of these great lamps. They are still wonderful in the condition that they are in or you could have them refinished. Like with all antique lighting they will need to be rewired. We are pleased to offer this exquisite. Antique lamp. This grand lamp(37" with shade attached) features an ornate, bronzed spelter frame with intricate details. The base of the frame has ornamental urns with bellflower swags. There are geometric circles for contrast. The lamp base houses 4, bent, ribbed glass panels which are reverse painted in a rose or chrysanthemum motif. The base is lighted separately(functions independently) from the top of the lamp and operates with one standard bulb and a pull chain on/off switch. The center section of the lamp features 3 large figural putti. This trio act as the weight bearers for the large glass lamp shade. The opaline glass shade is a light tan color on the exterior and white on the interior. The glass is fairly thick and features a deeply swirled pattern. French Art Nouveau Period Figural Lady Lamp With Nautilus Sea Shell Shade. Cast spelter figure with brass mounts. Lovely detailed figure of a nymph rising from the water. Her upraised arms support a nautilus shell that shades the lamp. The shade is framed with reed leaves and a decorative coil. Marked: This beautiful lamp is not marked. The quality speaks for itself and its French origin. CONDITION: No cracks or scaling. The original verdigris finish is largely intact. The only wear to the finish is on her left arm. The shell is luminous, iridescent and undamaged. The brown plastic covered wiring is probably forty years old and beginning to stiffen. The brass candelabra size socket should be replaced. Its threaded collar and cap have separated, the socket wobbles due to this. There is no switch, it's necessary to plug in and unplug the ... morelamp to turn it on and off. Deep red color with hand painted gold figural motif. One lamp is excellent condition. All original, rewired. The other has been worked on. There is solder points and dents as well as a replacement finial and sockets. Because of the fair/poor condition of the second lamp. This pair is being offered at a discount. Both lamps have some paint loss which is expected. Measuring 20 and 1/2 inches tall. The finial can be raised to 22 inches. The second lamp is just slightly taller. Also adjustable. Gorgeous OOAK Hand Painted Pair of Antique Moreau Type French double Figural Lady Lamps in their flowing gowns. One standing lady looking over the shoulder of the other at sheet music on each! These lovelies are heavy with two female figures per lamp weighing 16 pounds each. The figural ladies are made of spelter the bases are aluminum. Overall size of each lamp from the base to the top of the harp is 32" to the top of the bulb socket is 25" The standing ladies are 16" to give you an idea of the ladies size. Base dimension is 10" by 8" at their widest! These Ladies were beyond in need of a revival as they had sustained damage to their bases. They have been repaired and they have been newly hand painted in a pastel coral and a sage green with white and gold bases by a local Artist friend. We now have four sisters with ... moreblonde. Brunette, black and auburn colored hair! He even painted the symbols on the sheet music! He did a superb job giving these Beauties a new Life! They have also have new sockets and wiring. Harps are included. There are no finials. There are no markings on this Pair that we can find, they are older ones though, probably from around the 40's or earlier! The blonde lady does have a minimal crack on the back of her right arm and a previous break to her pinky that was repaired, see last photo. One wee area on the back of the socket poles are missing paint were they were nicked in transit, ooopps, see next to last photo, can easily be touched up. All the pictures were taken with a Flash for detail distorting their color a wee bit. As their coloring and dresses are a bit lighter than shown due to the flash. Layaway Available, Inquiry! Really cool estate sale find! Extremely heavy and unusual French Provincial style lamp is 43" height total. From base to top of finial. Shade is metal with inserts and awesome retro jewel inserts. The base nymph figure appears to be cast metal. I believe. as well as the lower ornate base. The bottom base is solid marble with a felted protective under-layer. Dimensions: 43" height 16" diameter shade 8" width base This is very heavy and will need to be packed with extra care. Insurance and tracking will be an absolute must. $75 estimate to ship. The base is matal and measures 5" x 6.5" oval ans 2.5" high. The white porcelain figurines are 6" x 6.5" They are opposing with a man feeding a sheep and a woman holding a basket of flowers. Unfortunately. One of the woman's hands has broken off on one of the lamps, however it really isn't that noticeable. They have the original wiring and plus, so you may want to rewire them. Up for consideration is a vintage Peinte Tole and Bronze figural French Empire style Bouillette Lamp. The lamp is unmarked but dates from about 1910 or so. It stands 26.5 inches tall by about 13.5 inches at its widest point. The piece sports finely cast figural Dolphins as arms with tripodal footed hairy pawed feet. The finial is a round finely cast circular floral wreath. The spreader or shade holder supports are also figual serpent or snake heads. Usually things that are not marked tend to be pre 1891. It possible this lamp dates late 1880's if it was made in France. Hence no"Made in France" as customary with these style of lamps. The fixture has been completely re-wired for American standards and new ceramic insulators added as well. Normally we would see this light with frosted glass floral shades and they can be added as well. The handsome young man standing besides the light is 51 inches tall which gives you an indicator of scale. Beautiful pair of brass and porcelain figural lamps. Porcelain on both is an excellent condition with no chips or cracks the brass bases are also in great condition with a beautiful filigree scroll pattern along the base. Both have been tested and work! Each measures apprx 22" tall. The porcelain figures are 10.75" tall each. Antique Figural 3 Maidens French Quilt Bronze Spelter Figural Jeweled Lamp
We are listing for your consideration a lovely Antique early 20th Century French Gilt Bronze Spelter Figural Lamp with Jeweled Shade. This lamp is in Excellent Original Working Condition. We guarantee 100% you will be more than happy with the excellent condition. The lamp measures 27 1/2" tall x 11 1/2" wide at the base. The shade alone is 9 1/2" high and the lamp and shade together weigh approximately 16lb 8oz. The lamp features 3 lovely maidens each with an outstretched hand holding what looks like a small aladdin lamp along with a wonder 3 foot clawed base. The maidens appear to be Greek, the have leaves in their hair and lovely flowing dresses with bare feet. The shade has great original glass green and amber jewels throughout with most of the green jewels having 2 small holes in each. We think this is for dispersing heat ... morefrom the bulb. The lamp takes a large bulb, the socket is porcelain. Great gold gilding to the lamp and shade. Neither the base nor the shade holds a magnet. The 3 maidens are all one piece that does move. We believe this is a French lamp dating from the early 20th century. A great art nouveau figural parlor lamp, it would make a great addition to anyone's collection and or household.
