ANTIQUE GLASS/CRYSTAL HURRICANE LAMP WITH PRISMS - WORKS
For Sale: A beautiful hurricane lamp that is still in working condition. I'm not sure if the material is glass or lead crystal. It's very heavy like crystal and looks like it. But I can't be sure. It measures 11-1/2" tall by 5-1/2" wide. It's not a real thin lamp like some lamps of this type. The glass/crystal on the stem is a little wider and it's very well made. It still works. It just needs a globe. The prisms are all there. The wires have rivets on the ends which is how they stay hooked on the lamp. Two of them are missing the rivet. They still hook to the shade just fine. You just have to bend the wire a little. There is also one rivet missing on one of the wires on the top of one of the long prisms. I did the same thing, I just put the wire through the prism and bent it upwards a bit and it's fine. ... moreOne of the prisms is just a tiny bit rounded on the end versus the sharp V. I'm not sure if it was chipped and then sanded and polished at one time or not. It isn't noticeable. It blends fine because it's the very tip and you really have to look to notice it. All of the prisms are there. I removed some of them for a couple of photos. They are not missing. I also removed all of them so interested buyers could see exactly what the lamp looks like. This auction is for a superb quality. Hand blown, heavy cut glass/crystal oil lamp font that comes with a brass oil lamp burner 1.5"3.8cm screw collar. This has not been fitted. Victorian in date. The font weighs 600g unpacked. It measures 5.5"14cm diameter across the top and stands just under 4.5"11cm tall. It can either be free standing or sit in a 5.25"13.3cm drop in ring. Condition is excellent. It appears not to have been used much if at all. The foot shows very light signs of wear(see pic) and there are no chips or cracks. Made of mostly blown crystal glass(maybe Murano) from the base all the way to the top of lamp. Beautiful glass prisms. Stands about 72" tall. Lamp works perfect takes a large mogul style 3 way bulb. Looks beautiful when lit up it spreads a beautiful array of light across the ceiling. Lamp is in good condition. There are a few of the top curved pieces that are loose they are held in place by plaster sockets which is how they did it back then. This is a smaller shade made of clear glass beads with matching glass fringe. The condition is good. But it needs some replacement to the fringe and reinforcement to the little loops on the very top. There are three beaded loops with breaks in the wires. I see no problems with the beaded crown or cap. This shade is stable and displayable as is, but not perfect. The fringe is not perfectly spaced, but I would say there are three strands missing. The fringe has also dropped a bit showing the string. The shade works well with candelabra bulbs or round bulbs. Large Czech Crystal Glass Bead Beaded Lampshade Shade Purple & Golden Tubes
This is a beautiful crystal and glass beaded shade. It is being sold as I purchased it several years ago. This is a large shade measuring over 7 inches in diameter. It is very attractive with long purple and pale gold glass tubes. There are a total of 29 gold tubes. 26 purple tubes, along with 4 multicolored beaded strands. One purple tube is broken at the very end, but I am including it because it can still be used. I do not know if any tubes are missing, but there are so many, I do not see this as a problem. There may be two small crystals missing, but there are a few strays at the top that can be used in place of these. This shade was probably meant to hang, but I think it could be used on a table or floor lamp with a little work to the top. It is really a gorgeous shade with great potential. The fancy beaded top with the alternating purple ... moreand gold crystals has some loose seed beads. Also. A few large crystals will need securing. Overall, this is in really nice condition. After photographing this shade, I removed all the glass tubes for shipping. It is going to take a little patience to reattach all of the tubes, but it will save on shipping and prevent damage. Please note, this is an old shade and some of the wires to hang the tubes may need replacing. None of the wires broke as I removed the crystals, but I thought I should mention this. The tall lamps are hand blown, cut to clear, royal blue glass. These are quality made lamps with attention to detail around each cut- photos do not do them justice. The scalloped edge top is hand cut with notches as shown, the neck or stem of the lamp is cut to clear with clover style shapes which are repeated around the cut base. The 10 cut crystal prisms on each lamp are 2 parts, octagon diamond at the top and long, elaborately cut, 3 sided Prince Albert style drops with spear ends, believe they are original to the lamp however they vary in length some. I could find a mark on either lamp not certain if they are French or Bohemian/Czech. PLEASE ... moreNOTE- These lamps are quite heavy and will be packaged well. Inside the glass and at the bottom has some dirt. I was able to clean it up a bit but it still needs more cleaning to get the rest of the dirt out. Stunningly beautiful pair of richly cut crystal urns set in what appears to be gilded bronze. The handles are decorated with additional crystal decorative spheres which descend from larger to smaller along each handle. The design of the urns are very likely Baccarat due to it's very distinctive shape.Quality and weight,these are extremely heavy leaded crystal,unmarked.They sit on a gilded bronze base which is removable. The handles are fixed to the base of the urn and has also a fixed collar.The height of each urn is 15.5'39cm) The metal shows no signs of damage and has a bright matte patina.The crystal decorative spheres on the handle show some signs of chipping but each one is intact in its setting. This is a good heavy quality Victorian faceted and cut glass/crystal oil lamp font. It measures 6.25"15.8cm in diameter across the top and the glass is 3"7.7cm deep. The font is fitted with a brass undermount with a 21mm screw thread. It also has a bayonet fit oil lamp burner collar that has traces of silver plating to the top surface. No cracks to the glass. The facet edges on the top and sides are crisp. The base surface has some scratches to the facet edges. Other than that the font is in very good overall condition.
