Beautiful details and hanging tassels under each candle. the metal frame is in excellent antique condition, showing no damage, just normal wear to the raw metal and is shown as is without a shade or finial. The lamp is in working condition, and the wiring is in tact without and breaks or fraying, although I would recommend it be rewired. One of the two black with gold drip candle covers shows some melting on the bottom(see photo6) Luckily it is covered by the metal frame and the damage is not visible. The two lamps stand 8.75" tall to the top of the white metal base and another 7" tall to the top of the vintage flame bulb with the cardboard candlestick holder. The lamps have their 100% original cased-pink over opal'Queen's Reading Lamp' oil lamp-style shades. The lamps are very well made and use heavy-gauge brass. The shade holders alone are made of strong, thick brass with the central ring being cast, they are engraved with floral ... morepaterns and each have a fresh, un-engraved cartouche! ideal as a gift, see images. Please be aware that these lamps are heavy and are going to be around 4.5Kg packed! Dimensions; around 14" tall to the top of the shades. Shades have 6" fitting. Condition; excellent. Antique Hanging Candle Lamp, Original Depression Glass in Excell Cond!
This hanging candle lamp was part of my decease mothers collection and was recently found in her atic. I really don't know much about it. But do remember her having it hanging in the guest bathroom with a candle always burning in it and working as should. The years of neglect, and storage, took its toll on it, but I believe it has value and can be restored to working condition with just some new hanging chians. The chains that pull the candle up out of the lamp are in good working order and have all the original hooks, as does the lamp top, Glass lamp, with metal bordering on top and bottom stands about 9.5" in height and top of lamp is about 5" wide. One still containing its original screen(if rather tatty) One holder has a pull-out inner sleeve and has decorative embossing to the column. The iron base moulded with flourishes and gold highlights typical of the era, there is also a set screw in one foot to possible secure the item to a desk. This holder has an inner tube which lides out very smoothly and contains a folded fan-like silk screen, the screen is very tatty now and loose at the brass end-pieces but if you are careful ... moreit can be opened and placed into the holder at the top, the receiver moving left or right to suit. The other included in this listing has a screw off top(rather than a sleeve) and does not have a screen inside it anymore unfortunately. It is I believe a 19thC TRAVELLING or TRAVELLERS RAILWAY CARRIAGE CANDLE LAMP dating to around 1870/80 I would think. In the days before electric lighting was commonplace this enabled you to continue reading whilst travelling etc. There are NO maker's marks that I can find anywhere. I have seen several different designs/styles& some are even made in solid silver. This example is made from plated nickel I think(the reflector is silver on copper) The plating is in generally good condition although there is some wear& a little corrosion on one corner. Overall I would give it 7/10. PLEASE note the constituent parts as this is all that is there. Victorian period Carriage Candle Lamp with clear and red glass. Antique carriage lamp- in original rusted as found condition. It would appear to have only been illuminated by a candle as there is still the remains of a very greasy candle within the body. There are two bevelled oblong clear glass pieces. The front one has cracked. The silvered reflecter on the back piece has a central hole fitted with a red circular glass piece. The body from the domed top to the candle holder base is approximately 32cm tall x 11cm on each side with the glass standing out a further 7mm. I have no idea as to the maker I'm afraid but there is a stamped legend that possibly states'Under Patent' It is difficult to make it out clearly. Condition is poor. Antique Brass Two Candle French Bouillotte Lamp Rare Design. Candle height on this lamp is adjustable. an uncommon feature. I have found no other lamps of this type with adjustable candle height. Height of lamp is 21" x 10" wide. Circumference of base is 7 1/4" Candles can be raised 13" without the shade in place. And about 9 1/2" with a shade. There is no shade included with this sale. This lamp is offered as found with original patina. The wiring and guts are NOT original. It is possible to use this lamp with candles by removing the wiring. I have made no attempt to repair it. And I have tried to show all defects in the photos. SEE PHOTOS In spite of the defects. This lamp is quite repairable, and would be a VERY upscale lamp when finished. The dish base is not straight. And there is a hairline crack in the base ... moreof the dish. Base is still tight and solid. Brass nut under base appears to be hand made. Base of one candle is not tight. CLARKES FAIRY CRICKLITE LAMP OIL CANDLE BASE CUP & GLASS DOME CUT PRESSED GLASS
Here we have a stamped original Victorian Clarke's Cricklite/Fairy Lamp type night-light holding base cup with its original matching glass dome(peg version for candlesticks etc. The lamps were used with night-light candles(similar to tea-lights of today but usually deeper) and sometimes a very small oil lamp in the place of a candle. The cup is made of clear pressed-glass imitating brilliant-cut crystal. The peg at the base has its often missing wooden'stump-like' mount around it to fit into a candle socket. The base measures 10cm diameter and is in excellent condition. The glass dome measures 8cm diameter at the bottom and 12 cm high approx. and is in very nice condition with a couple of nibbles from the top glass rim and some verdigree under the metal rim but I am sure this could be clean ed off- but does not detract in any ... moreway. There are a couple of bubbles in the glass from the original manufacture- a sign of its age. The gold band running around the bottom circumference is impressed with the Cricklite name. Vintage French Brass Metal Shade Triple Candle Bouillotte Lamp
These French Empire Bouillotte Lamps make excellent student. Study, library or den table lighting. The Hollywood Regency designers are using them now also in their spaces. This one is a nice. Clean triple candlestick brass base with brass shade and metal mesh diffuser two light lamp. Push button switch at base turns On/Off. Very clean, very few concerns. I'd date this one to the late 50s/early 60s with original wiring(old straight prong plug) A detailed dusting in the cracks and corners and the metal diffuser at the top of the shade has a slight bump in it that causes the finial to look askew. It just needs to be flattened between some heavy books for a few hours and it will take any tilt you see in the finial out. Absolutely no dents, scratches, dings or imperfections of any kind to the brass shade. 18.5" tall from table to top ... morerim of shade. And 22.5" to top of large finial. The diameter at the bottom rim of the shade is 14" The base diameter is 7" All brass. perfect working order. all original. and very clean. But please make up your own mind about this. The lamp measures approx 15 1/2 inches(390mm) in tall. By 5 1/2 inches(140mm) wide(including the mounting bracket) by 4 3/4 inches(125mm) deep. It is made from painted metal. With thick, bevel edged, plate glass windows, and a large bulls eye lens(Tinted red) at the rear. It is in pretty sound condition with it no dings. Dents, or major rust to the casing, but in grubby, grimey condition(see photos) It would look stunning if cleaned and polished. But this is a choice I leave to you. The glass is in good condition. Vintage Brass Pierced Jeweled Hanging Candle Holder Lamp/Tent Lamp
This auction is for a really neat vintage brass hanging candle holder/lamp shade that may have been made in Morocco. But its origin is unknown. The holder has a pierced pattern, along with six pierced/cut 6-pointed stars. It is decorated with seven raised, multi-colored inset glass( jewels" that almost look like scarabs. This lamp measures approx. 7 and 1/2" high with a circumference of about 16" The top opening is approx. 2 and 1/2" in diameter. There are three brass hanging chains, each about 7" in length, that connect to a hook at the top. I tried to take some photos of this lamp with a candle inside, but my candle was not the right size, so the effect of the colored jewels is somewhat diminshed in the pics. I have seen lamps similar to this one sold as"tent lamps" which I interpreted as for use in the ... moredesert with camels and an oasis and all of that romantic stuff: I can't really picture it being used in one of our local campgrounds.This item is in very good condition. The brass has not been polished. All of the jewels are intact and appear to be in nice shape. This is just a unique candle holder that displays really well and is a fun decorative piece. It is hung with a single tier of cut crystal arrow drop lusters and was beautifully made with a victorian style. This piece is stunning. What a find. This dazzling English piece is in good condition with some minor discoloration to the gilding. Two small chips are found on the top of the crown shaped bowl and two of the crystal prisms have been carefully repaired. There is some illegible writing found under the base. This is a Gorgeous Red or Wine Antique Brass Bouillotte Tole Lamp. In wonderful vintage condition! There are 2 Swan Candle Holders and 2 Sockets for Standard Bulbs. It works perfectly. and looks stunning on! The shade has spots of the paint missing. And a few very light scratches. The shade cross arm on the top has 2 more swan heads on either end holding the shade in place, these are a bit loose and may need some adjustment or tightening, they are rubbing when the shade moves and the shade moves because they are loose. The base is very heavy and has felt covering the bottom. It measures 25 1/2 inches tall and 13 1/4 inches across the bottom of the shade.
