Antique Craftsman Mission Style Cast Iron Lamp w/ Fat Boy Paddle Switch I came across this forgotten treasure and couldn’t pass it up. While there are no actual markings other than the“fat boy” paddle switch and the socket. Both labeled“Union” The design of the lamp is characteristic of the Mission style and the American Craftsman style, made famous by Gustav Stickley around the turn of the 20 th century. I cannot verify its authenticity as such. But it definitely has the trademark appearance of these two parallel styles. Please note there are several cosmetic flaws characteristic of its age(see pictures for close-up details) paint has some chipping and various scratches; socket is slightly askew; and lamp has apparently been rewired at some point in time. Though it DOES work. The lamp measures as follows: 16 ½” tall from bottom of base ... moreto tip of socket; base is 6 ½” square at its widest point; lamp column is 2” square. This is a antique pair french style metal figural table lamps. These lamps have a wonderful design. Detail, and look. The lamp with the man standing on top of a world globe and he is in robe like clothing with a red bird in his hand. The entire lamp from base to top of the finial stands approx 36" The lamp with the woman also stands approx 36" tall. She is standing on a ship like steering wheel with waves coming along side the wheel. She is also in robe like clothing and has a bird in her hand. I have looked the lamps over and I do not see any breakage. There is as you see in the pictures paints loss over the figural bodies of these great lamps. They are still wonderful in the condition that they are in or you could have them refinished. Like with all antique lighting they will need to be rewired. Vtg Antique Mission Style Quarter Sawn Oak Lamp Stickley Era Slag Glass Light
For your consideration is a Mission style table lamp. The quarter sawn oak base is 6 3/4" square and the lamp stands 19 1/2" tall. The 14" square slag glass shade has all its original glass panels. Though two of the panels do have cracks. Both sides are shown in the last two photos, glass panels are tight with no missing pieces. The vintage brass pull chain switch socket accepts a standard base bulb(bulb not included) The lamp has been rewired with an 18 gauge cloth covered wire and a vintage style two prong plug. Description This is a stunning pair of antique metal lamps with original painted finish. Cherubs are beautiful and detailed. Lamps measure 29" overall- Cherub figure from feet to top of head is 17-1/2" Base is 9" in diameter. There is a logo or stamp on the part between the cherub's feet- looks like the fleur-de-lis but cannot read it- tried to show it in picture. Lamps are in good condition- no breaks but a few chips in paint as I have shown on one of the arms. Overall the finishes are in good condition- one is a bit duller than the other- probably exposed to more direct light. They are in original working condition but as with any electrical item they should be checked before using as screws can loosen during shipping. We are pleased to offer this wonderful pair of antique to older vintage lamps. The lamps date to the 1940s and feature elegant lines with French or Italian Regency design. The lamps are metal with dimensional acanthus leaves on urn bodies. Above the urn sections. The lamps have a tall, candlestick design. The circular bases are stepped and feature a bottom section of metal topped with pale green onyx/marble. The lamps retain their original finish which is a lovely, antiqued jade or celadon green. The lamps have sockets which were used by Rembrandt and Stiffel during this period. They retain both their milk and clear glass diffusers as well as their elegant fabric shades. The fabric shades are quite striking. They are a fabulous, light jade green silk with a touch of gold trim around the bottom and a brocade/bric-a- brac trim around the top. ... moreThe silk has a jewel tone shimmer in direct light which is fabulous. The shade frames are designed to fit into the notches of the glass diffusers. The lamps are completed with their original finials which are metal fleur de lis finished in the same green color as the lamps. The lamps are in very good condition for their age. There are a few minor scuffs/small chips to the finish in a couple of areas but these are minor and not distracting. The wiring was updated in the 1960s. It is working but it is older. The lamps have an on/off switch both at the base as well as the socket area. The shades are in very good condition both in terms of the silk and the frames. The fabric interior lining is old and somewhat brittle and does have some tears. They can be re-lined. The shades are special enough that they need to be included with the lamps. Overall, the lamps are in extremely nice condition. They are elegant and have a classic, refined character. THEY ARE VERY HEAVY.
