Antique German Dresden or Meissen Basket Weave Floral and Figural Lamp
This auction is for an antique German Dresden or Meissen lamp. The body of the lamp is of a woven basket texture and it is adorned with pretty pink roses and green leaves and is surrounded by three cute cherubs. The marble base is also adorned with the roses. Any mark on the porcelain is obscured by the marble base. But it is obviously a very fine German porcelain. The overall height of the lamp is 18 3/4 inches. Including the pretty floral finial. Determined facial features,and uniform with pith helmet indicative of this time period, 1900- 1920) Total ht. 26 in. The figure alone is 19 in. tall and sits on a 61/2" diameter wood base marked Germany The soldier is holding a flag in each hand although one arm has broken off cleanly as shown in the pictures.I have the intact arm and both flags. 13 inch high figural stem oil Lamp. This lamp has a 4 7/8 X 4 7/8 inch X 1 inch high metal base. The figure is the bust of a beautiful woman. The figure is 6 inches tall and is supporting a brass colored base that holds a glass font for the lamp oil. The glass is 3 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches across. On top of that is a brass colored cover that the burner screws into. The glass font has some etching on it. There are 2 cracks in the glass font. The font could be turned so that the cracks were in back. Lamp has fine detail.

Marked on the bottom: P A. for Plume& Atwood in Thomaston Connecticut who started in business in 1871. Heavy cast base with a bronze or brass finish. Trunk up Elephant in a walking step with one foot raised. The base resembles a rock or stone ground with tinges of Red. The Elephant holds a round beaded disk in his trunk that attaches to the flame or lotus like open top. This holds an old paper covered lamp socket with faux candle drip and a Bakelite knob. The original wall plug. Which is included, but has been removed(for safety sake) is a very old rubber plug. The copper shank is included which when recorded will hold the bulb socket. We are pleased to offer this exquisite. Antique lamp. This grand lamp(37" with shade attached) features an ornate, bronzed spelter frame with intricate details. The base of the frame has ornamental urns with bellflower swags. There are geometric circles for contrast. The lamp base houses 4, bent, ribbed glass panels which are reverse painted in a rose or chrysanthemum motif. The base is lighted separately(functions independently) from the top of the lamp and operates with one standard bulb and a pull chain on/off switch. The center section of the lamp features 3 large figural putti. This trio act as the weight bearers for the large glass lamp shade. The opaline glass shade is a light tan color on the exterior and white on the interior. The glass is fairly thick and features a deeply swirled pattern. It sits into the ornate lamp fitter ... morewhich features a pattern of acanthus and shells. I have shown a close up photograph of the signature. This is a heavy lamp that weighs 25.8 pounds. It measures 35" tall up to the bottom of the light socket. It measures 9 and 3/4" across at the base. This is a detailed lamp that appears to be made from some type of metal. I am unsure of the exact metal composition. Is it bronze? I am just unsure. For your consideration are an exceptional pair of monumental figural lamps that are just stunning after Arthur Waagen and signed on base bottoms. These are divine pieces with intricate detail and are for right and left placement. You will have a hard time finding another pair with such elaborate detail. Please view photos so that you can appreciate the craftsmanship put forth on both. They are exquisite. The lamps are mounted on wood and marble bases as shown. The stem on one will need an adjustment or one may wish to had stems of your choice. The figures depict a huntress with game fowl and/or ducks in one hand and a spear in the other. The other maiden has a fish net dragging behind her with fish lying at her feet. They have a gilt finish which shows wear consistent of age and use. 1930 Antique Rembrandt's Mutual Sunset division figural floor lamp
This lamp appears to be in better condition than the one that sold on 12/23/13 for $102.50 plus $38 shipping. This lamp screams deco and has a figural figure on its base The base is marked Mutual Sunset and has adjustable feet. It has a metallic like finish on top of the base. The base is clean. The lamp has its original finial. It will need some restoration. The buyer will have to rewire lamp. The clickers all sound good. Flat shipping to anywhere in the lower 48. Elsewhere.
