Beautiful! Purchased this lamp along with other antiques from an estate of A Naval Rear Admiral originally from the Coronado California area. He had many wonderful items! I cannot find a signature on the lamp shade. Although I may be missing something. Also, there is no felt or bottom covering on the base. The socket is signed, but this is for the hardware manufacturer. Several antique dealers have looked at shade but no definitive answer. Except it is truly beautiful! Multi shades of color accented with a stunning irridescence. The underside of shade has the colors in their more solid form. And on the outside is this wonderful and captivating coloring. Amazing. The rim of shade has no chips, just slight roughness. Shade is excellent. The metal base does has some discolor here& there. The lamp works and cord is fine. Completely original, antique American lamp from the famous firm of Bradley and Hubbard(Meriden, Connecticut 1852-1940) It features a three bulb array at the top of a fluted column that expands into a scalloped bottom resting on a central urn. The urn is festooned with garlands from which descend four gold accented plaques while the bottom has a pattern of leaves encircling it. The base has an outward curving scallop pattern and a gold accented edge design. The ... moreslag glass shade features beautifully swirling, amber, brown and white glass set in six panels by exquisite bronze and gold patina metalwork. From the upper, circular, medallion, six fluted columns descend to join the intricate edging that is punctuated by six gold accented urns. This model dates from between 1900 and 1920. The base of the lamp appears to be of iron while the rest of the metal appears to be pot metal. The lamp is in very good working condition with some minor scraping to the the finish of the shade's metalwork(most noted on one column and each of the small, upper urns at the top of the columns where the gold accenting has worn off in varying degrees) The central urn of the lamp body has some minor chipping of the finish and metal(see the close ups of the spots on the garlands) The base shows very mild, age related wear. With a little re-touching, most of these minor problems can be restored. As it is, it remains a beautiful lamp for any discerning home. I can't say for sure the shade dates as old as the lamp. But it is an old shade. Has an old Fat boy socket in it; I've turned it on and off 25-30 times; works great. Should probably have no more than a 60 watt bulb, though in the old days, they regularly installed 100 waters. Designed as a task light, mainly for reading in the parlor. 56 1/2" tall. We have also been told that the lamp could be Italian or even Spanish. What is certain is that the lamp is one beautiful piece of functional art! It is comprised of bronze, painted white cast metal, brass and a woven basket of wire forming the inner portion. Attached to the wire frame are numerous mold-blown multi-colored glass flowers and all are accounted for. Degué Wonderful french art deco lamp in wrought iron. Around 1926-1936, with a glass paste shade in beautiful coloured mothled glass signed Degué. Being the company of David Guéron. From Jewish Turkish origin he came to France to join the foreign legion. Seduced by the modern art déco movement in the early 30ies he set up his own glasscompany attracting craftsmen from the Schneider company producing vases and shades for lighting 1926 onwards. Like most glass makers and lighting factories the Degué company did not survive the financial crisis of the 30ies. Production stopped in 1936 and the plant finaly closed down in 1939. This lamp has been sitting in my grandmother's home ever since purchased in the 1930's and has sat in a niche in her stairwell for as long as I can remember. Now I inherited it. Had it rewired. The original cloth wiring was in bad shape. It has its original, very delicate glass shade which is held on by two screws(as seen in pictures) Lamp is fragile and glass is only held on by the two screws. It is in wonderful condition for its age. It was purchased in France and it is French in origin. I have yet to see another one like it. Lamp is 15" tall by 7" wide by 7" deep. Offered is an original pair of French figural lamps with extraordinary detail right down to the instruments in each maidens hands. Their stunning! This is an original pair meant for placement for right and left side. This is an exceptionally example of two lovely maidens with arch of foilage surrounding them. French francaise stamps on rear. You will not find another original matching pair in such well kept condition. These are stunning and the detail unlike any with a violin and the other her harp which has a cherub head on arm. Please view photos for detail. The lamps show very little wear typical of age and use with loss to the patina. One has a seem split on back of base which is very typical of these pieces due to expansion and doesn't compromise them in the least. As you can see they display beautifully. UNIQUE Art Deco Nouveau Gothic Figural Sphinx Lion Leaded Slag Glass Lamp Light
Great antique art deco/nouveau figural Egyptian Sphinx(made out of what I believe to be bronze) lamp with an exquisite marbled leaded slag glass multi colored shade. The arm holding the shade rotates from side to side. And I believe it is brass. This piece is in excellent condition, the shade is free from any chips or cracks. The lamp weighs over 6 pounds, it's a very solid heavy piece. There is some wear from age to the arm, and some age to the body of the Sphinx, so please look closely at the pictures. I couldn't find any makers mark, the only signature I could find was the"Leviton" which is the company that makes the wiring. I have looked all over. And could not find anything as exquisite as this piece. This is a very unique and beautiful piece to add to your collection. It measures 9 1/2" high.
