We have 6 listed this week.My Great Uncle owned a lamp shop in DC for almost 50 years. From the late 30's until the early 80's. The lamps we have listed this week came from his estate. My aunt, his daughter, recently passed away and we took these parts from her attic. Her Dad had strung these parts in order on a piece of wire and had them hanging in his shop. After he passed my aunt brought them home and hung them in her attic. About 10 years ago she gave us a strand of these parts. We found a threaded pole here on ebay and took the pieces ... moreoff of the wire, sliding them down the pole in the order they came off of the wire and we have had a beautiful slag glass floor lamp ever since. My aunt has recently passed away and these parts came from her attic.This one has what looks to me to be a green vaseline type glass incorporated into its design one of which has chips as shown but the others are fine. The cast iron base and steel parts had been stripped of their paint and or plating years ago and they got rusty so I took my wire wheel and went over them but you'll still need to brush them again before painting however most of the prep work is done. The base is really rusty on the under side but I cleaned the threads up and they look fine. There are 2 matching brass tubes. I polished a small area of one of the tubes so you can see what they'll look like once cleaned up. I do not have any sockets and of course the pole is missing too but the threads in the base look fine. I laid these parts out in a line on the floor and as far as I can tell there are enough to make about a 54" tall lamp. Rod is not included. Thank you for viewing. This is actually a very nice vintage table lamp Unknown maker Two handled urn style It is 11" tall to the top of the socket I would suggest rewiring the cord it is very old There is a repair on one handle. Featured in a soft Sage Green this metal TOLE Lamp features a double lamp: The base features a Bubble Glass Lantern shape. ROSES Spray decal is shown on all three sides at the corner of each panel and the ROSES Spray is carried up towards the top and is accented in gold trim. The backside shows a round metal plate that slides to the right or left so the bulb can be changed out. The Shade is original and is not metal but a heavy cardboard. Four ball feet rest under the base of the Lamp. Quite a unique and SCARCE Lamp and beautifully done. The bulb in the base flickers to give a true lantern feel. Lamp measures 31" ... morehigh to top of finial with an 8" square base. Lamp will probably need to be shipped in two separate boxes and will factor into the shipping charges. Antique Vintage Cast Iron Green Stained Slag Glass Angel Cherub Table Lamp
You are bidding on a Vintage Table Lamp. I can find no maker's mark on the lamp itself. There was some information on the old socket. But I think it was just the socket maker, and it has since been replaced with a new one. This lamp is about 22 inches tall with the shade on it. The base of lamp has a square that is about 7.5 x 7.5 inches. The shade is very heavy. It is made of a green stained/slag glass that is very heavy, but light still passes through it very nicely. It measures about 12 inches in diameter and it is about 7.5 inches tall. This lamp weighs a total of just under 12 pounds. When I found this lamp, the socket did not work so I took it to a lamp shop and had the socket replaced, the cord is still the same. The lamp works now just as it should. It has slide mechanism to turn it on or off. There is a finial on the top that ... moreyou remove by screwing it off and then you have access to remove the shade. The shade support is also removeable by pinching the two sides and it comes out of the groove by design. Condition- It is pre-owned and well used. The metal parts of the base and shade have oxidation and discoloration but that definitely adds a nice patina to the piece. The inner glass is intact. There could be a few small flea bites where the glass jostles around because it is just held in place by metal prongs. The lamp works, as stated the socket is new, but the cord was left because I wanted to leave the lamp as original as possible. As far as the age of the piece, I really have no idea, my research has come up empty. It really is a beautiful lamp, and if nothing else, its definitely aesthetically pleasing to look at. Includes original brass burner. The bottom is very slightly concave. I find no maker marks on it anywhere. Including the small brass parts. The lamp is definitely antique, and appears to be complete. There are four different green scenes on it- a windmill. Sail ship, barn, and what looks to be a farm house, resembling Currier& Ives scenes. In very good condition with a couple of small flaws- one being a few tiny flea bites on the top rim of the globe. And some tarnish to the brass fittings, which should clean up. No wick.
