Slight underglaze darkening but glaze beautiful. gorgeous loop hangle with thumbrest. Lid immaculate. Hinge immaculate. Original gold lines on rails bordering collar almost completely cleaned off but an easy restoration. Magnificent the way it is. There seems to be the slightest rub of the lid on the backside shoulder edge and a nick. Perhaps but otherwise, near museum quality to me. The glaze on the top edge of the tankard looks poured on. Image 12 shows the depth of the glaze and crackling depth. Polychromic Hand colored transfer of a stylized water bird resembling a Great Blue Heron wading in flowered wetlands decorating each side of syrup body has great color and is in beautiful condition. Interesting thumb lever appears to be styled or formed as the back of a book and is serrated in a chevron on the thumb side for a sure grip while pouring. Stands 6 1/2" to the top edge of the slim tankard. And 8" to the finial on beautiful conical lid. Handsome slim tankard form with beautiful classic loop handle with great thumbrest. You will not find many of these around in this condition. Stamped"BENNETT'S/ JAN 23. 1873/ PATENT" I would be interested in the patented feature or innovation represented by that patent. Was a collector, former museum curator and lecturer on Asian art at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She also played an important role in creating the Canadian Society for Asian Arts which got its start in Vancouver in 1968. Over her lifetime, she collected a fabulous collection of Chinese antiques, mostly snuff bottles, and porcelain. Most of her pieces were collected between the 1940's- 70's in England and North America. We were lucky enough to purchase some of the nicer pieces which we are offering on ebay. The only area of notice is the base.where the cobalt and crystal meet.there is cloudiness on the interior.may be a result of the application of the base to the top. Up for bid a very rare beauty it's a french opaline glass lamps really rare the bottom of the lamp has a medallion young napoleon according to previous owner with floral foliage and acathus and it's made of very heavy metal could be cast iron or white brass then the first section which is the base is made into sections they are detached not all the lamp in blue is in one piece that's what I trying to explain.The burner has ornated wings with leaves and initals HS the knob says non plus ultra Brenner it has two pull chains it's really very intriguing. PAIR ANTIQUE ART DECO BEADED GLASS LAMPS FROST TO CLEAR SHADES BLUE CRYSTALS
We are pleased to offer this beautiful pair of antique glass lamps. The pair dates to the Art Deco period of the 1930s to 1940s. They feature clear glass. Round bases in elongated beaded design. The bodies are also clear with a beaded accent in the center. The large bobeche has 12 pin holes. The lamps each include 6 long, blue rain drop crystals(one in every other pinhole) This way allows you to see the lamp bodies but you can certainly add more crystals if you prefer. The shades feature frosted glass with clear raised relief pattern of grapes and vines. The tops are also clear with a scalloped border. Though a matched pair, one of the shades is a little"whiter" frosted than the other. You don't notice it unless the lamps are side by side. The lamps are in very good condition with no chips, cracks, etc. The shades are very nice ... moreas well with expected wear around the fitter area. Wiring is vintage but in good condition and lamps are working. The lamps measure 14.5" tall with the shades attached and 10" without shades. The bases are 4" in diameter. Antique Austrian German Oil Lamps Ditmar blue glass with Mirror Reflectors
They are not exactly the same. The blue glass bases are the same size and the burners. One mirror reflector was made in Germany for Ditmar, the other was made in Austria for Ditmar. The shades look to be original but one is taller than the other. The hanging hook on the reflector and the fastening clamp is different between the two. Very old and very rare, no cracks, dents, or chips. The mirrors have a little foxing around the rims. With the chimney one measures 11 5/8" tall, the other is 13" tall, the bases are 4.5" wide. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and therefor is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Save on combined shipping. Insurance will be added to the cost of shipping if necessary.

Exquisite Antique Hanging Glass Lamp w/Hand-Painted Violets, Robin's Egg Blue
This listing is for the most beautiful little hanging lamp made of frosted satin glass. White with 2 hand-painted bands of robin's egg blue and a central motif of deep blue violets with little peach-colored flowers and green leaves. The turnkey is in an Art Deco style, and this lamp dates from probably the 1920s to early 1940s. The central floral motif is repeated on 3 sides, and each side has just a tad of wear as on the side shown. The twisted rayon cord and plug are in excellent shape. The lamp is shown turned on with a 40-watt bulb, and it's absolutely exquisite with the soft light shining through the frosted glass. It measures 6-1/2" tall to the top of the hardware where the cord comes out and 4-1/4" diameter at the bell of the shade, perfect for hanging in a corner or above a dressing table. Antique Canton blue ceramic ginger jar lamp w/new linen shade - Japan/China
This decorative ginger jar lamp was part of my mother's Oriental collection. She always called Cantonese. But now I'm seeing that the bottom of the wooden base is marked'Made in Japan 86-5. I'm not sure if the jar is Chinese and the wooden base is Japanese, or if she was mistaken about the jar. Regardless. It's a beautiful piece of functioning Oriental art. The jar itself is made of ceramic and measures 7" wide and 6 1/4" tall. The wooden base adds another 1" and the overall height including the modern fixture is 16" The linen lamp shade is new and compliments the colors of the lamp perfectly. The tall lamps are hand blown, cut to clear, royal blue glass. These are quality made lamps with attention to detail around each cut- photos do not do them justice. The scalloped edge top is hand cut with notches as shown, the neck or stem of the lamp is cut to clear with clover style shapes which are repeated around the cut base. The 10 cut crystal prisms on each lamp are 2 parts, octagon diamond at the top and long, elaborately cut, 3 sided Prince Albert style drops with spear ends, believe they are original to the lamp however they vary in length some. Antique Pair of Nickle Plated Candle Holders with Blue Opaline Glass Globes. The pair is marked on the base with an anchor and compass mark. I have not been able to find anything on this wonderful old pair. It looks as if they were originally spring loaded candle sticks but the columns have filled with wax and I have not taken them apart to inspect. The fabulous element if this pair is the blue opaline globes. Not sure if the are French or not but the look to have been hand blown. A little roughness on the bottom edges from where they were cut but no breaks, cracks, chips or nicks in the glass. The two bases have a few dings as you might expect from age but otherwise no breaks. Bends or repairs. The pair stands 14" high to the top of the globes with the bases measuring 4-1/4" in diameter. DESCRIPTION: I’m offering today an Antique Aqua Blue Hobnail Glass Lamp with Bristol Glass Base and Upper. This belonged to my elderly in-laws which we found when cleaning out their home. The aqua blue hobnail glass looks like the color of the ocean. When the light penetrates the glass it has such a lovely color. The hobnail comes to a point and is not rounded. The top of the lamp is white bristol glass which is scalloped and holds the holder for the light bulb. I do believe the bulb holder has been replaced and it works fine. The bottom has the same white bristol glass scalloped pattern which the hobnail base sits on. Then you come to the square white bristol base which compliments the combination of above. The original cord remains attached and as mentioned above. The lamp works fine. There is a cut-out in the square bristol glass base ... morewhich allows for the cord to run through so the lamp sits squarely on the table. Hello- This is a gorgeous true French Opaline Lamp. It is double-walled glass. Beautiful clarity and depth. The White Sugar Frosted design is in great shape, with the design repeated on both sides. Really at first glance I thought that they were Cherubs- so this lamp is very subtle. The base and fixture are a little tarnished which is typical for antique lamps. The shade is not included. Antique Old Paris Porcelain Vase made into lamp blue w/hand-painted flowers, bow
True to its period of making when Neo-classical revival(end of the 18th. Beginning of the 19th centuries) was enjoyed in France, the urn shape features Etruscan goddesses, blue bow-knots, pink roses, 24kt gold leaf transfer decorations and gold leaf accents on the goddesses and as rings separating the various design sections. The blue of the solid areas is more periwinkle than cerulean of the bow-knots. The body of the lamp measures 12 3/4" in height. And 4 3/4" wide(from bustline to bustline of the goddesses) The shade is 9 1/2" tall- with an overall height of 22 1/2" from the top of the finial to the tabletop. One small smudge on the silk(shown in photo) otherwise perfect and ready to add a light bulb of your choice, plug in and adorn your night stand, bedroom dresser or dressing room. I took the part to Laura Joseph's in Ridgefield CT and had them fit it with appropriate brass mounts and wire it(more cha-ching) A lamp so pretty deserved an equally special lampshade- enter Naomi de Gavriel(then living in New Caanan CT) whose bespoke silk lampshades are eye candy! Naomi picked up the shades of blue, pink and green with ribbons and beading(each one hand sewn in place) And, the piece de resistance- a rose quartz finial. Roller switch on cord. Please use a small wattage bulbs to ensure the longevity of the silk. Over the top GIRL-Y GIRL and French designer/decorator gorgeousness! Happy to answer any questions. Absolutely beautiful matched pair of Japanese Shofu lamp bases cast with holes measuring 7/16" at top and base are ready to be mounted on bases and electrified. They are vase-shaped with gilded porcelain handles and feature hand-painted floral motifs in their primary faces. Which pink rose floral sprays against a white background. The curving sides feature gold Satsuma rose sprays against a lovely French blue ground. The divided panels are trimmed in gold rules with raised gold dots. Signed at base"SHOFU made in Japan" Please note bases have the same lantern-shaped logo w/in a wreath saying SHOFU, on one the"made in Japan" a previously rubbed out. I conclude that these were made pre-occupation. EXQUISITE ANTIQUE NIPPON HAND PAINTED LAMP GREENS, GOLD, BLUE FLORAL
Offered here is an exquisite antique hand painted Nippon lamp. I believe that this piece began life as a vase and was converted for use as a lamp later. This lamp stands 11" to the top of the socket. The elegant cast brass base measures 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" The painting on this lamp is expertly rendered in very pleasing shades of celery green and medium true blues. There is raised gold beading decorating the lamp. Please observe the photos. The greens are less gray than the photos suggest. The vase sits on stylized paw feet. I see no chips or cracks on this lamp. There is some slight loss of the gold decoration on the tops of the handles. This lamp was originally fitted with a quality Federal socket and switch.
