This is a large 1898 Map of Louisville. Kentucky. It measures 12 X 17 inches. inches. This map is genuine. Not a copy or reprint. Map was taken from the Cram's Railway Atlas which is near impossible to find and very expensive when found. Truly a rare map of museum quality to be held for investment or show. Map shows routes of the Railroads and depots, including street railroads, and is very detailed as can be seen in the lower scan. We take special care in shipping these maps as there are no replacements. Map will come gently rolled in kraft paper inside one of our special triple wall pvc mailing tubes. This is a 1892 Railroad map of Louisville. Kentucky. It is from the Rand McNally Enlarged Business Atlas issued in 1895. Rand McNally did not update their city maps every year in the Business Atlas, so this genuine dated 1892 map was in the 1895 edition. The map measures 14 X 20 inches. Map shows all transportation lines. Both steam and street railroads, their routes, stations, depots, along with other major points of interest as it was in 1892. Second scan shows the copyright date. Condition: Paper is in excellent condition. Minor handling. Would look fantastic framed under glass. Imagine this map displayed in a professionals waiting room. Or anywhere for that matter. Also, the very large format of the sheet allows for a level of detail which makes the map perfect for display or study by a Civil War buff, since the detail it contains is to be found almost no where else on this scale. KY Date- 1864 Comment- This map is one of a series of maps drawn and/or issued between 1862 and 1865 for the purpose of selecting a site for the construction of a Western Navy Yard. In late 1864. The U S Senate appointed a Western Navy Yard Commission to select such a site, and they visited a number of locations on the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. The final report of the Commission was in February 1865. Many of the maps were actually prepared prior to these dates by the U S Coastal Survey employees, but used with the final Commission report.
