Amazing Italian fleur di lis wall sconce light. Very nice condition. Each fluer di lis measures 11 inches tall and 9 1/2 inches wide. But I think it should be rewired for safety purposes. I have not cleaned this piece. I would rate it in very good condition, considering its age! The socket could be made of bakelite; but I do not know how to make that judgement. So I will leave that assessment to the winning bidder. The curved arm is metal. Edison patented Bryant socket. With mica insulator. The rarely found patent dated fitter(July 14. 1903) is permanately secured to the Bryant socket body. Usually if you see these Edison patented sockets at all, they will have a clamp on fitter attached. The fitter has one replacement screw. With age wear to the socket paddle. ANTIQUE VINTAGE WALL SCONCE LIGHTS - WORKS GREAT - PERFECT SHAPE
Am selling a few antique fixtures as we are remodeling our home- these lights were put in the home when it was built 50 years ago by two antique dealers. These two particular wall lights were in my closet- I washed the globes and just dusted the fixtures. I have a lot of antiques. But am not a collector of glass, but the globes look like milk glass to me and are very thin. They are in great shape- no chips or cracks- one does have a little paint dob on one side(very small) that I am sure will come right off. They both worked perfectly. The shades are NOS never used solid thick heavy glass with 9 reflective panels with their original heavy gauge steel fitters w/ Brass/Bronze wall mounting hardware. Very similar to Fink style mirror paneled shades but much more stylish design wise and way more heavy duty being solid glass(at least 1/4" thick) with Industrial fitters. CONDITION: This striking pair of unique mercury glass shade lamps are in outstanding original unused condition. Completely intact and fully functional. They exhibit just light signs of surface wear to the exterior finish with no damage or repair. On the other side of the cast iron elbow is stamped(which the first letter is hard to read) either MALLD, HALLD, or WALLD? This is a very heavy& beautifully made lamp. The lithophane is part of the shade in raised relief and hand colored on the back. Its says hand made by the signatures. It is decorated in gold exterior. The raised hand painted scene is a hunt scene of a running deer with dogs chasing it. What detail. The long wire looks like it was added and should be replaced. It's frayed. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The lamp is just under 11 inches tall. The shade is approximately 9 inches tall. The wall plate is 6" round approx.
