VINTAGE ANTIQUE BRASS & TOLEWARE BOUILLOTTE LAMP / GENTLEMAN'S LIBRARY LAMP
A stunning antique 19th century brass 4-light bouillotte lamp and green tole shade. The lamp was originally made for oil and was subsequently converted to electricity. It stands on a shaped dished base with baluster stem supporting the vase shaped reservoir. Brass stem with decorative carrying handle, the height of the shade can be adjusted via a screw mechanism with decorative key type terminal. The lamp also has it's original brass wick trimming scissors and snuffer which are connected to the lamp by a removable bracket and chain. Dimensions: Overall height 58cm(approximately 23" Condition: Very good. Some wear and tarnishing to the stem. And a few light marks to the shade comensurate with age and use. This is an amazing vintage antique Italian Florentine Toleware Table Lamp. The piece stands 31" tall(to top of lamp hardware) and approx. 12" wide. Base is 6" square. Lamp works perfectly. Base is made of a wood substance and is a bit chippy in a few areas(creme colored) Leaves are metal- painted a forest green color with gold accents. Tips of leaves have tiny holes so I assume that at one time there may have been crystals hanging- easy to do if desired. A beautiful and unique lamp. FATIGUED FRENCH FINDS fatiguedfrenchfinds This is a wonderful antique French red toleware hand painted bouillotte lamp. It was once used for candles and at some time in its past. Someone has converted it to electricity. If you wish to use it as an electric lamp. Please be aware that you will need to have the wiring checked as you will with any vintage or antique light that I sell. If however. You want to revert it back to its original purpose and use it for candles, it would be a fairly simple thing to do as the wiring is all on the outside of the lamp. The paint work has that fabulous fatigued French finish to it and it has a crackle finish. There is the odd little chip here and there to the edges. Which have been hand painted in gold. This lamp was made out of a tole painted 19thC child's milk jug sometime in the 1930s or 40s. I plugged it in and took it's picture so you would see that it's working. But the lightbulb and shade have been removed to make the shipping easier on this old bird and cheaper on you. The can itself measures 8" X 4" Nice working tole lamp for almost no money! Great one of a kind item. Usual den ts and paint loss such items have no signature but obviously not done by a novice. My feedback reflects that there was a glitch in my shipping this winter. Vntg White Toleware Metal and Milk Glass table lamp shabby chic
Toleware table lamp. Metal shade and bottom with a white milk glass middle. I personally will hate to see it go. I love the Tole lamp look but I promised myself I wouldn't keep things. It is used and has signs of age. On the bottom there is patina and rust spots and not shinny brass anymore, also the rail at the top of the shade isn't shinny brass anymore. This is vintage and has been used. On the globe under the shade it does have a scratch which is probably from the metal shade sitting on it. The plug on the cord has been replaced but it lights up beautifully. If you have questions let me know.
