HEAVY SILVER PLATED DROP IN FOUNT FOR ENGLISH DUPLEX OIL LAMP, PARAFFIN OR KERO
Up for auction is this attractive heavy silver plated metal drop-in fount for a Duplex burnered oil lamp. The fount is made of heavy metal. Probably'white metal' also referred to as'hard plate' and is plated with silver. It has no dents, some wear and rubs to silver, and a definite ring of wear to the underside. Apart from that ring the silver plating is intact and nicely polished, though there is still some grime in the nooks and crannies arond the pattern. Approx 16 cms max diameter. And would fit a ring or pot about 150mm diameter, the shoulder is curved. 100mm overall height, and the collar has a thread for a typical screw in duplex burner, 39mm or 1&1/2 inches diameter. There is a slight scratch on one gold bit near centre of stem and this is barely noticeable only mentioned for accuracy. Otherwise this lamp glass has no cracks. Chips or repairs. A German Dietz burner is pictured although it will be supplied with original ABCO burner in excellent condition. The chimney is in very good condition 218mm tall and a 75mm diameter fitter end. Antique Green/Pink Hand Painted Peony GWTW Table Hurricane Banquet Oil Kero Lamp
This is a beautifully hand painted floral gone with the wind lamp with peonies on both front and back of top and bottom globes. The top globe has been repaired where it was broken near the top of the front. There is a close-up showing the repair; the seams are not terribly obvious but still slightly visible. And there is a tiny sliver of glass missing. The flowers and the fact that the repair is close to the top make it less obvious. It still looks fantastic and still has the original font, fill cap, and wick knob, but it has been electrified, so the center of the burner has been replaced with a light socket. It looks like the electrification occurred long ago and the socket and cord look like they are probably from the 40's and should probably be inspected before use. The socket is a standard size with a switch(underneath the top globe) ... moreThere is a gold metal ring under the bottom globe with a few cracks in it, probably from over tightening the pieces together. It is not loose or broken all the way through. The remainder of the lamp, including the bottom globe does not have any visible damage aside from minor light wear. All paint on the glass pieces is intact and skillfully done. The gold finish on the metal pieces has some wear and has a darkened patina from age. The bottom of the base is marked with a number 5. The lamp measures 21 1/2" H x about 8" W. It will be partially disassembled. Wrapped very well, double boxed, and insured during shipping.

Antique Victorian B&H Cranberry Hanging Oil Kero Library Parlor Ceiling Lamp
This is a fantastic antique hanging pull down library or parlor lamp complete with shade. Prisms, font, chimney(looks original) solid brass weight, smoke bell, chains, and flower shapes screws. The lamp has never been electrified. The cast iron piece that holds the font is marked B&H with the numbers 1 and 12. The only part that I know is a replacement is the brass ring that sits on top of the shade. It doesn't quite match the ring at the bottom of the shade and is a little larger than the lip on the top of the shade. But it still looks beautiful. I don't know if the other parts are original or replacement. But they really look fantastic together and the condition overall is very good. The shade has one tiny chip on the bottom rim, visible in the photo of the inside of the shade. There are no other cracks or chips. The frame is ... moremade of several types of metal including tin. Brass, and cast iron, making it a bit unusual. All of the metal pieces had a brass finish at one time, but it is worn off in many spots. Underneath the pulleys, I have the chains hooked together on each side so the lamp stays at the desired height and doesn't come down any lower. It might be necessary for the buyer to do that as well.
