Gorgeous Antique Set of Three Reverse Hand Painted Small Lamp Shades
When you look at these on the inside they look crackle or have a floral design. They feel like they had a wax poured over them to protect the frosted effect. Up for auction is a VINTAGE USED PAIR OF: Reverse hand painted glass shades/globes Frosted Has a mountain/lake scene Has a couple flaws in glass-they are NOT chips though it looks it in the pictures. They are smooth. It is almost like a bubble within the glass. Not much of a rim at top-a little rough at top from normal use. RARE Handel Lamp Base-Cast Metal-For Reverse Painted Shades-Fully Functional
Rare Handel lamp base with three original Hubbell sockets and acorn pulls. Original heat cap shade rest and finial. Normal signs of use for its age, great patina matches on all parts. Fully functional and tested at time of listing. Threaded rod of finial is slightly off center with a solder patch and original cord has been pieced with cloth covered cord(see last two photos) Cord works, but should probably be rewired for safety. They are for a smaller single bulb lamp or fixture and are quite lovely. They are as found and have some dust in the crevices and I did NOT wash or clean them and leave this to the new owner. The height of both pieces is 5 inches and the opening at the bottom or wider end is 4 3/8 inches with the top smaller opening measuring 2 1/4 inches. There is some rougher feel to the glass where the shede meets the lamp or fixture and there is one small flake on the shade with the reverse painting at the very bottom edge but it is not unsightly.
