The lamp measures about 31 inches tall by about 9 1/2 inches wide at the socket area. It comes directly from a good early estate and could use a light cleaning with a damp cloth to bring out the coloration. The lamp measures 14 3/4" in overall height and is 7 3/4" in height to the bottom of the electrical assembly on top of the polished chrome central stem. The original cotton rag-paper tapered shade measures 10 1/2" in width x 6 3/4" in height. This vintage solid teak Danish Modern table lamp is 100% original and is in nearly perfect condition! The teak body is without nicks. Pushes or abrasions. The teak base is solid wood and is comprised of three separate pieces of wood, joined together with glue during production. While unmarked. This lovely antique banquet/parlor/gwtw lamp was most likely made by Fostoria in the late 1890's. It measures 25 1/2" to the top of the ball shade, with the ball shade alone measuring 8 1/2" tall(measured through the center) The ball shade is the factory original shade decorated with small purple violets which matches the decoration on the font and stem. The violets are decals, with hand over-painting, typical of Fostoria decoration. Around the top of the shade, font, and stem, is a band of bright yellow. The shade retains its original brass heat ring and the fitter edge is without damage. Up for consideration is fine pair Vintage Bronze. Brass and iron Lamps. They measure 26 inches tall by 8 inches wide by 5 inches deep. Both have been rewired. They both sport their original coloration. There is some light overall wear but nothing major. The colors are gold with what looks like a dark umber finish and a teal sort of blue as the secondary accent color. The lamps function well. Both have old felt on the bottom. They are fairly weighty. Vase form, applied ring handles, may have originally been an oil lamp base, please see photos. interior well can and bottom collar look to be original to the ceramic, they fit very well. base is a cut down oriental piece that is slightly to large in diameter for bottom collar, but serves its purpose. has relatively modern vase cap at top that fits well. vase is signed with the initials DG surrounded by 4 dots. there is another smaller mark that i cannot make sense of. again, please see photos. brass can has a diameter of 3 3/4" on the inside, and is 2 15/16" deep. vase sect is 6 3/4" tall. when assembled lamp measures 11" tall to top of socket base, weighs in at a hair over 3 pounds. if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, i will do my best. thanx for looking and good ... moreluck.

Antique c.1900 COLT Sconce Gas Bracket Lamp orig Glass Globe & RARE Wire Cage!!!
A wonderful Colt gas lamp from the late 1800's or early 1900's. Globe original and has nice wavy glass with imperfections such as bubbles but no cracks or hairlines and it is as clear a scan be. In nearly 40 years of dealing in and collecting vintage and antique items. This is the first one I've owned that retains its original steel wire cage around the globe. This wire cage was put in place so that you would not burn yourself when near or around the glass globe. A quick search on the net turned up copper cages so they are out there but I could not find a steel one. One would assume that the copper ones were earlier then in later years they changed to steel due to expense and conductivity. I believe most of the parts to be original to the lamp however the cap leaves a question in my mind. The ones I've had in the past had ... morethe colt name embossed into the cap. This one does not but the cap looks old, the screw that holds the finial on looks correct and the finial looks correct as well so it may be possible that in later years the Colt company eliminated the name on the cap. There is a raised ridge inside the cap for the heat screen to sit, finial looks correct. I'm truly on the fence about this particular part so you experts will have to make up your own minds as to originality. The shade holder is patented 1894 and all the rest of the parts are original. It has been electrified, the wire is in place however there is no socket. The lamp swivels near the valve and when it would be 90 degrees to the wall, the protrusion is 16" Diameter of the cage is about 8" Please view all of the pictures below and if you should have any questions, please feel free to ask.
