Early 19th century grease lamp complete with it's original adjustable trammel mechnism. Circa 1760-1810. Similiar examples can be seen in the Rushlight Club's book Early Lighting as well as other references on Colonial period metalware and interior furnishings. The bottom pan of the piece would have been filled with grease or oil with a burning rush reed placed into the pan. Additionally a small open pan lamp could be placed on the bottom with the pan acting as a platform. We found a small open pan lamp with the piece thats slightly later(likely mid 19th century) and are including it with this auction. As you can see the piece is complete with it's original ratchinging trammel mechanism. Allowing the user to vary the length of the piece to meet various illumination needs. In it's shortest state the piece measures 29" in length. Expandable to 41" The pan itself measures 6"x 2 3/4" x 3/8" Some slight pitting and oxidation expected from age though overall a very good++/near fine example. Here's a 1920's Solid Bronze Lamp Base for a Leaded or Slag Glass Shade. Offered at NO RESERVE! The base is quality Solid Bronze, not cheap white metal or clad plaster. It stands about 22 and 1/2" tall overall and is just the base- no sockets, wiring or caps. This lamp has 8 panels of bent caramel glass with two bulbs controlled by pull cords. The shade has the swirling leaf design found in most Art Nouveau desings. Looks great when high lighted against the caramel glass in a dim room. I have taken a number of pics in dim light to show this off. The base is solid and heavy to support the large shade. Although unmarked it is probably a Pittsburgh lamp. I have had all new wiring installed so this lamp is go to be used right out of the box but as always use caution and inspect after shipment before use. Shipping: Due to the size and fragile nature of this lamp we will need ... moreto ship the shade and base separately. Art Nouveau Slag Glass Marked Lamp No Reserve
This auction is for a very old slag glass or caramel glass lamp. Most lamps like this are constructed of what is commonly called“spelter. a zinc alloy that has a pewter shade of color but was nearly always plated or painted to resemble brass, copper or aged bronze. The caramel-colored glass used in these lamps, now called“slag glass” by dealers and collectors, was originally called“marble glass” in catalogs of the period. I have copied this information that seems to pertain to this lamp. It has markings on the socket that reads 2520w- 250 w pat d. July 6 1909 with a circled f. On the bottom of the base it is marked.S262. I don't know a lot about this lamp. I am selling it as I bought it. I left the glass out that was already out. Antique Champleve on Bronze Lamp No Reserve
This lamp has been in my personal collection for about 40 years. Exactly as pictured. After completing the restoration of an 1890's vintage home, this has become surplus to our needs and being offered for consideration. Photos show all 4 sides, including the back where it was drilled for a cord. It has been rewired and it works. I encourage all who purchase lamps and lights from anyone to have someone competent check them before putting it into use. There is a threaded pipe that goes through the center from under the carved wood ebony base and to the socket. The 11 inch harp(shade holder) is of the interchangeable variety. Harps are usually available in big box stores and on eBay. The lamp is about 26 1/2 inches tall to the top of the finial. From the table top to the vase cap of the lamp is about 13 1/4 inches. Interesting cartouches ... morein each side and dog or lion medallions in the front and back. There is some kiln firing related enamel loss in the panels, but no dings, bumps, or repairs. Colors of the enamel are great and fit well with most decors. A grand and stately lamp, but we have determined that at our age, if we are not using it now, we probably don't need it. Aladdin Lincoln Drape Oil Lamp Base Cream Color No Reserve
This is for a very nice Aladdin Lincoln Drape Oil Lamp Base. This is not pink. But seems to be a shade between Ivory and Pink. The pictures were taken with a flash, so it looks whiter in the pictures than it really is. This lamp base is in very good condition without chips, cracks or repairs. When examining the base, I came across a very small depression on the upper surface of the lower base and thought it was a little nick, but with a magnifying glass, have determined it to be a small bubble hole from it's production. You have to search for it, but I was able to capture it in picture#4. It came from a Southeastern Wisconsin Estate. It measures about 10 1/2 inches high. Listed without reserve. The lamp base measures 23 inches high to the top of the socket. And is 12 inches or 30.5 cm wide from handle to handle. The lamp base features a porcelain urn form body mounted on a stepped white metal base with a textured finish and a back patina. The porcelain body has a magenta glaze with a large rectangular cartouche at the front. In this cartouche is a very sweet hand painted figural portrait of a young boy feeding his baby sister. Here's an Antique 1920s Emeralite Bankers Lamp Base with Bonus Shade offered at NO RESERVE! The lamp is signed twice. Once on the back of the shade and once inside the shade. The shade has a large chip out of the front rim(picture 6) but someone applied a decorative rubber grommet around the rim which actually looks halfway decent and does fully cover the chip. The base needs polishing but is otherwise in good order. The cord has been cut so it will require a complete re-wiring; the socket looks like the original. This is a very nice table lamp. I can't see any blemishes in the metal bird or glass back. I don't know what kind of metal the bird is made out of. But I'm guessing iron or brass. The shade has 2 rows of prisms with glass beads around the top. There are approximately 106 hanging prisms on the shade. The finial has 6 teardrop prisms and there are 6 prisms just below the shade. The lamp stands about 67 1/4” tall. The shade is 16 1/4” in diameter and the base is 9 1/2” square. The lamp has 4 bulbs with a switch. The cord is in good shape. I’m sure a few prisms will have some dings and I spotted a couple with small chips. The brass base has finish wear as pictured. I will remove each prism for shipping and wrap them individually. Bradley & Hubbard Multi-Colored 18 Panel Slag Glass Lamp - No Reserve
Up for no reserve auction is a Bradley& Hubbard slag glass lamp. It measures 15" across the diagonal. 13.5" flat to flat and stand 22.5" tall. The finishes on both base and shade are original and match well. It is 6 sided with 3 tiers of glass in each panel. All of the glass is original and is in excellent condition. No cracks. The overlay is also excellent. The shade is unsigned but a known Bradley& Hubbard. At some point, someone added a cap to the top of the shade. Originally, this probably would have set on arms and would not have had a cap. However, someone put a 6 sided cap in the top so it would sit on a regular base. I will leave it up to the new owner if they want to take it back to original or leave it as-is. The shade is also not perfectly symmetrical. It is in very good condition with the paint being in nice shape with very little loss. But it does need rewiring. It has the replaced socket and wiring and it does work. The bottom is made brass while the bulbous part is a brown patina painted copper and the decorations pieces and feet may be pewter. It is in very good vintage condition. Here is a way cool Art Deco Lamp. A tall guilded Lady figure. No Reserve. Don't miss it! It is signed by the maker"Balleste"on the top of the black base as pictured. Excellent Condition. The Lamp looks almost like new! The finish is excellent. As found. The Lamp appears to have been rewired with the correct period cloth electrical cord. However, to change the cord the Statue had to be removed from the marble base inorder to access the wiring. So the base and Statue still need to be glued back. I don't believe the light Shade is original to the Lamp. But still looks great.
