I HAVE SOME FABULOUS COLLECTIBLES AND FLEA MARKET TREASURES FOR YOUR HOME DÉCOR THAT I HAVE BROUGHT BACK FROM A RECENT BUYING TRIP SO CHECK BACK OFTEN AND PLEASE ADD ME TO YOUR FAVORITES. ~Wow! this antique 1920’s hanging Gone with the Wind Library lamp is so amazing. I have included a lot of photos because this light is far to incredible not to show every angle. This has all the Victorian charm you would expect from the Dillard M Smith Co. The hardware is all wrought iron. With 3 chains that meet in the center just above the 14 inch diameter shade. There is a decorative smoke bell at the top along with the matching wrought iron collar that sets loosely on top of the shade. There are many tear drop crystal prisms that adorn the bottom ring all the way around. Lastly the shade is Drop Dead Gorgeous! There are 4 raised/embossed grape cluster ... moreand leaves that wrap around the entire shade. The colors are even more beautiful in person. The bottom of the shade is signed Dillard M Smith Co. which is shown in the last photo. The Library Lamp measures about 18 inches tall to the top of the canopy. This is a ceiling mount style. The 14 inch shade when it sets in the ring is about 18 inches in total diameter. The condition is absolutely amazing for a lamp of this age. The shade is free of any chips, cracks, scratches or paint loss. I don’t think one as complete as this one will surface again for quite some time if at all. The BASE is FULLY& CORRECTLY signed on the bottom along w/ the original felt cloth bottom. It is about 59" tall x 24" across. This is all original except for the cord and this has the original twist switch. The metal is in EXCELLENT CONDITION with a wonderful deep rich all original patina. The 10' dome shaped glass shade is not singed or numbered but we believer it is a Handel shade. It certainly is a vintage shade and from the period. The quality of the painting is excellent and it is very pretty. The base color of the glass shade is off white and the exterior has a satin finish. The painted surface is on the exterior, so it is not a reverse painted shade. The ... morecondition of the glass is excellent very near mint, NO chips, cracks or repairs. The colors are fresh and vivid and they too are in excellent condition. Overall condition i s an easy HIGH 9 out of 1O as to the lamp and glass. The Lamp is 14 inches High and the Font is inverted pear shape that is 6.25 inches wide and 5 inches wide. The White Glass Overlay is cut to a Dark Cranberry Interior. The design is Grape Leaves and Grapes. The base is a 2 level White Marble separated by Bronze Divider with a Bronze Column supporting the Font. The cut work on the leaves is special in that the prickly edges are cut as well as the veined interior. This Victorian-era parlor lamp has the most pleasing decoration.clusters of green grapes with brown leaves on curly vines.perfect for the lover of white wine! The back side is also decorated with smaller clusters of grapes.the vines and leaves encircle the sides. Please pardon the white spots which are glare from my camera flash. Not damage. The SUCCESS-marked font and elaborate spill ring and base are indicative of Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass, Glass as the maker.dates c. 1905. The decal decoration has some light hand-painted enhancement on the grapes and leaves. The lamp measures 25" to the top of the 10" ball shade. The background coloring is deep and rich.dark chocolate brown around the top of both globes which fades in to a deep caramel tan. The overall condition is excellent with no damage or repairs to the glass. There are no flakes ... moreor chips around the fitter edge, other than some minor factory roughness. Please note the small black spots near the rear of the shade.they are factory flaws that happened during the firing.visible in the last photos and not distracting. The shade retains its original heat ring. The original font, as shown in the photos, was electrified at some point in the past. The tank/reservoir appears to be intact, however does not lift out due to the wiring. The metal fittings appear to have had an expensive re-plating in brass at some point in the past. The wiring appears to be newer.was most likely re-wired when the metal was re-plated. A switch was added to the base and works well.only the top lights. It sounds as though there is a small washer or lightbulb rattling around inside the base.was like that when I bought it and has not harmed the glass. It's been re-wired and works great. One of the ornate children on the main piece has broken off and there some cracks and discoloration that I tried to show in the pictures. Antique Vintage Lamp Handpainted grapes Limoges? Parlor lamp works good
Beautiful antique lamp- Bottom is covered. So unable to see makers mark, but looks like it may be Limoges. Condition: Lamp works fine, no shade, hairline crack runs down lamp(see photo 4) but not visible unless looking for it, in fact I did not know it was damaged until I photographed it. Note: postage based on buyers location- item being shipped from Idaho. Lamp weighs 6 lbs, so added 1.5 lbs for box and packing materials, size is calculated based on removing the harp from top.
