Vintage Asian Lamp. At the to are three topless women one has a gargoyle in between them. A snake, and a bird. The elephants are next there are three of them, then there is an asian dog, maybe a gazelle, a winged animal, there are six animals at that level, on the bottom there are three dragons with tongues hanging out and in between them there is a flower in a circle. The lamp is approx 15-1/2" up to top of lamp where the design starts and all the way up to tip top of lamp is 25" From one dragon to another is is approx 5-1/2" along outside. The bottom is 5-1/2" from dragon to where one of the flowers in circle are. It weighs approx 8-1/2 pounds without packaging. The lamp does work as shown in pic. I believe the plug would need to be updated as it is old style. I am not sure what the material is, feels like a very hard ... moreplastic. There are a few areas of wear and some scratches on bottom of lamp. There are signs of age/use/wear. Some scratches, scuffs, chips, etc. Not a new lamp. In the foreground cherry trees are in full bloom. Birds fly over the water towards a small blossoming tree. The scene travels completely around the lamp.The upper and lower portion of the lamp has bands of pastel geometric designs. The shoulder of the lamp has two gold elephant heads holding gold rings on either side. A band of raised, green enamel, swag on a gold background encircles the shoulder, interrupted only be the elephant heads. Fine gold, beaded, bands and gold enameling separate the designs segments. Fabulous Antique Figural Birds Lamp Base For Slag Leaded Glass Shades Bronze Ish
Up for sale is this fabulous antique lamp base. Featuring a pair of long necked birds(I believe cranes? on either side. Wonderful detail work, the lamp has a bronze finish, I don't think it is solid bronze, but it is quite heavy and does not attract a magnet. I believe the top hardware is replaced, but both pulls are working smoothly. You will need hardware to attach a shade. There are no cracks, or breaks. You can see the mold line running through the feathers toward the bottom, and there is some finish wear, including a spot that looks like a paint drip. This a fabulous and extremely rare form, unfortunately it is not signed to identify a maker, but it was definitely done in the era of Tiffany, Handel, Pittsburgh and the other fine makers of that time. Pierre d'Avesn A rare 1930 french art deco chandelier by the famous French designer Pierre d'Avesn. A nickel plated bronze or solid brass fixture holds a superb bowl in moulded-pressed glass. The chandelier is 38.5 cm(15-1/4" high and 40.5 cm(15-15/16" in diameter. It's in excellent condition. I have renickeled and patinated the mounting. It comes rewired with 3 US candelabra base sockets. European E14 or old B22 bayonet cap ones are possible as well. Like all my lamps the mounting of this chandelier is an authentic 1930 French art deco fixture. unlike almost all the pendants with French art deco bowl I see on offer in the US that have new or old cheap or worthless American or sometimes German mountings. Up for auction is a Beautiful Antique Asian Chinese Bronze Lamp with 3 Cranes Birds lamp base I am not certain of age but it is definitely old- I believe early 1900's or earlier- purchased from an antique dealer. Gorgeous patina. One rock on bottom front of vase has Oriental script(photo 2) I have no idea if this is a signature or if the writing/ symbols have some sort of meaning. I have not been able to find another lamp or vase like this one- very unique. This piece features 3 cranes that appear as carrying the lamp. The cranes are standing in rippling water with a rock/ stone outside border with a pile of stones in the middle. All 3 cranes with outstretched wings and long legs have a chipped beak but otherwise look great. Otherwise, the lamp is in wonderful condition. The body of the lamp has 5 cranes circling the diameter. As you ... moresee in the photo, the lamp does work and has new wiring. Cord is over 7 feet in length- plug and cord in new condition.
