It has a crackled surface with a thick clear glazed finish. The front of the vase has a red white and gold floral design flowing around a blue trunk and branches base. The maker's mark on the bottom indicates that this is a Kutani Japanese vase made in the 1960s. The guide in which I found the mark says that it is"Generic Kutani" Meaning that the actual manufacturer is unknown. The base color of the vase is a very light cream/off-white color. The vase has a hairline crack on the side starting in the middle of the vase and going up to the lip of the vase on the back right side, and a smaller hairline crack on the lip of the vase opposite the first crack on the front left of the vase(back right and front left are directions if you are looking at the front of the vase) The cracks are nearly impossible to see since this vase has a crackled surface. I have tried to take photos of both cracks so you can judge for yourself. I have also taken pictures of all sides of the vase so you can inspect it for details on design and condition. The vase looks amazing and will display well in any setting. Vase will be shipped with proper packaging to ensure safe delivery. If you have any questions. Please ask. Both vases are(apx) 6 1/2" tall- one is slightly shorter than the other.it is closer to 6 1/4" The width at the shoulders of each vase is apx 3 1/2" wide. Both vases have similar decorations: cobalt blue lizards attacking a large spider. The lizards are both embossed onto the vase in a beautiful. Raised- 3 dimensional fashion, and they have golden colored highlights on their spine, legs and rib-cage(back of body) The spider is cobalt, but flat on the vase- not raised- but it too has golden highlights on its legs. The shorter vase has more pronounced golden highlights. While the slightly taller vase's golden highlights are somewhat faded. The taller vase has a slight depression at the rim of the neck(Pix 7)it is glazed and most likely created at the time of the vase's creation. These vases are not signed on their bottoms. They have identical coloring. But since each was hand painted they are different, except for the'Lizards attacking the Spider' theme of the vases. Up for auction is a very nice pair of Porcelain Candlestick Boudior lamps with floral chintz motif. They where made around the turn of the century and are stamped with an early dark red mark on the bottom. The lamps are in excellent working condition. But we do recommend you rewire. Antique Vase circa 1900-1915 Late Meiji. Japanese Kutani Ceramic in Rust, Gold, Black and White. Historic faces of Asian men in a group gathered all around the base of the lamp. Detail is incredible. Faux Ring Handles on each side of lamp. Adds special detail. Black wood base is solid. Lamp was made aprox. 1960's however. Vase itself is from 1900-1915. Aprox. size is 13" tall from base to socket. Sold without shade or harp. Shade will sit right onto light bulb. Most shade suppliers have this type of shade. Shade not included but with shade it would be 21" tall aprox. Base is 4" in diameter. Used but in excellent condition. On/off switch only. Not 3-way. Works perfectly.

Here is a beautiful pair of vintage candle stick lamps made by mikori ware in Occupied Japan. these lamps have a thick rice paper type of shade and are in very good condition. these lamps have the logo painted on the bottom mikori ware hand painted made in japan. I believe these were made around the end of WW2 and brought back from japan by a GI due to this being common practice for the time these both work and will be shipped without the bulbs.

Vintage Japanese Porcelain Boudoir Lamp
A unique vintage porcelain ginger jar lamp. Featuring a colorful bird on a flowering branch, with wood base. The decoration on the lamp is in high relief(raised) Marked"Made in Japan" underneath. I think it needs to be re-wired. I have not checked to see if it works. Measures about 8.25" tall including the part that holds the bulb. Antique Asian Ginger Jar Converted into Table Lamp over 50 Years Ago Porcelain According to the Underwriters Laboratories Issue# 24158, the lamp components were made by Robert Abbey Inc in the 1950's/ early 60's& the antique jar was converted into a lamp at that time. The ginger jar was made pre-1900's. But the exact date is unknown. The jar is Asian. Most likely Japanese The lamp measures 24" high The jar is 9" high and 7" wide The jar is blue and decorated with cherry blossoms and blue birds. Possibly peacocks. Clam shell brass finial at the top. Has wood bases at the bottom of the fixture and jar The lamp works great and has a mint power cord. The jar is in excellent condition. The lamp components and shade are in VG condition. The shade has 2 discoloration spots- a small dot and a half inch spot that are ... morenot too noticeable.
