Antique Vintage Italian Porcelain Winged Dragon Bust Hand Painted Lamp + Shade
This is an Absolutely Stunning Antique Porcelain Italian Hand-Painted Table Lamp. The lamp has two handles with winged gold gilded dragon bust figurines on it. The lamp has a capodimonte raised floral pattern on the lamp. Basic colors are green and white with gold trim. The original tag is still on the lamp and it says it was made in Italy. The lamp shade is very different and very large measuring 19" tall by 21" by across at the bottom by 11 1/2" across at the top. It is a gold filigree type lace over a metal type frame. The shade has some water stains on it. The lamp with shade stands 37" tall with shade on it. There is a fabric type rose which is pinned to the shade. This is the history that I know about the lamp. It belonged by my girl friend's great grandmother so she is guessing it is over 100 years old. This ... moreis all original. The Table Lamp measures 32" tall to the top of the finial. 12" wide across the dragons busts, with the metal base being 7" across. There are shaped openings around the neck and middle of the lamp which go completely around the lamp and are painted in gold. There is one small chip to one of the flowers but other than that I don't see any problems. The lamp is in excellent working condition. This is a True masterpiece to place in the center of Your Home Decor. These two pieces cannot be shipped in the same box as I believe the shade would be crushed in shipping. Pair of Vintage Capodimonte Italian Pierced Porcelain Table Lamps- Made in Italy Exquisite pair of Italian Capodimonte hand-painted table lamps. Each lamp is slightly different. But share the same design/motif. Each lamp features a regal majolica Rococo pierced porcelain body standing on an stately brass base with ornate filigree and four dolphin feet. The decoration is dominated by colorful pink. Violet, green floral motifs with gold embellishments. Included is harp and matching finial, no shades included. One lamp is slightly larger than the other, and their designs are slightly different. Nonetheless, the pair make a wonderful complimentary set and work well together. Each lamp has a"Made in Italy" marking, but I have not taken them apart to find the Capodimonte makers mark. The larger lamp measures 38" to the finial. 24" ... moreto the switch/knob, and has a 8.5" wide base. The smaller lamp measures 37" to the finial. 21" to the switch/knob, and has a 7" wide base. Some of the gold is worn in places. Most likely from cleaning. I do not see any chips or cracks. This lamp is awesome, its a tole metal and its got lots of porcelain roses in its center and coming out from wires, one flower has a large knick to petal the others might have minor flecks but look to be ok. Its got this great mint green color and a crystal piece at the center. Its got pull downs on its sockets, so old and awesome. It probably should be rewired but it does work, but I recommend all old wiring should be updated. Comes with 2 cream shades. They came from a nice estate collection in Philadelphia that had only lamps from Italy so I am sure these are no different. They have a green background. very pretty rose pattern on them and a lot of heavy gold trim. There is wear on them mainly on the gold so please look at my pictures. I believe they were re wired at some point but I have not plugged them in. They both have a finial on top that the owner attached with wire. Each is about 29" tall roughly at the top of the finial. We are pleased to offer this BEAUTIFUL AND RARE pair of antique Italian Capodimonte or French Rococo lamps. The pair date to the very early 20th century. They feature toleware bases which are adorned with 4 toleware cameo medallions. The lamp bodies are exceptionally lovely. The lower section feature figural statues of the"Three Graces" or"Gratiae" These beautiful ladies are bisque porcelain. The trio are holding a large. Gilt and painted porcelain vase. The vase is quite ornate and detailed. The fronts and backs have delicate pink and yellow flowers and gold gilded accents on a black background. Dimensional, white drapery swags are superimposed over the black background. The swags come together in the center of the vase and are accented with a large, dimensional cameo medallion. The sides of vase are white with gold accents ... moreand are reticulated. Each side has two large handles. The handles are also accented with gold. The lamps are in good condition. They do have some minor chips to the porcelain but they do not distract from the beauty of this pair. There has been a repair to one of the hands of the women at the wrist area. Again, it is not distracting. The wiring is old and cloth but the lamps are working. This is a beautiful and old pair of lamps with incredible interest and detail. The pair are not visibly marked. They have felted bottoms. The lamps each retain their original shades. The shades are large. Victorian style. They have scalloped tops and bottoms with long fringe and tassels. They are ivory damask with tone on tone pattern. The shades are lined. The shades are quite lovely but do show some age. They do have small worn area at the frame sections. The inner lining is torn in some areas. They are old and original and I feel that they should be included with the lamps. Rare offering. Up for auction are three(3) vintage Capodimonte lamps- a matched pair plus a larger lamp that is coordinated with the pair- plus two pairs of shades(a total of 4 shades) All lamps have same color scheme and"go" together. Black. White, gold/gilt color scheme and pastel scenes with a cherub theme. Neutral colors go with most decors. Brass dolphin bases are the same for all three lamps. The pair are 18" high to the top of the light socket. Did not measure the tallest one. But from the first photo, you can see it is a few inches taller. The taller lamp is NOT an exact match with the smaller ones, but it definitely coordinates with them, has the same color scheme and overall design. The three may have been sold as a set(all 3 were purchased at the same time, probably in Boston's North End) These lamps come with ... more4 shades for you to mix-and-match: 2 white and 2 black. The white shades are a linen material. The black drum shades are a suede-like material. I have included photos of the larger and smaller lamps with each of the shades. The lamps look good with either shade, but you may need to buy different sized harps to suit your taste on where the shade sits relative to the lamp. These lamps have been together since the'60s. They probably should be rewired. Although they work just fine. The brass bases are missing the felt bottom. The brass has a nice vintage patina- it can be polished but I will leave that up to the new owner. The main sections show two women in robes in a very pastoral setting with trees. Meadows, and mountains in the distance. The upper and lower sections are decorated with multiple colors. The lamps have bronze bases and bronze details in the middle as well. The lamp bases are marked R. G. The lamps do have some condition issues as befits the age, which can be seen in the photos. One lamp has damage to the base. There is some roughness around the top where glaze is missing. The second lamp has damage to the bronze skirting in the center piece and also has damage and repair to the porcelain in the bottom section. Italian Capodimonte# 655 lamps for sale. These are a matched pair and are very old. We found these at an estate sale and are in the same condition as found. Very dirty and need cleaned. One is perfect and one is cracked. Old Bakelite finials are broke. Please examine pictures of lamps to know what you will be receiving. Both lamps are hand signed on their bottoms.
