Vtg Wall LAMP Sconce Wrought Iron Frosted Glass Art Deco Modern Style, Damp Room
Here is a very interesting WALL LAMP. Sconce, which is vintage but I don't know the exact period for it. It has a very typical Modern Art or Art Nouveau style. But the glass shades look more Art Deco(20's-30's) However. I don't think the lamp was made at the beginning of the 20th century, but probably a little bit later. It is also possible that the glass shades/globes are original ones from the 30's. While the lamp itself is not. The Lamp is pretty heavy because of the glass and the wrought iron. The shades are in frosted glass with raised patterns. The twigs holding the shades are in wrought iron painted by such a way, that they look like bronze. But I have no idea about the material of the background which is behind the twigs. It is painted like bronze as well, but it seems lighter than the rest. It looks like a light ... morewood or resin/plaster, I am not sure. The part behind this. Where the electrical cords are, is in painted metal. At the back of the lamp. It is said that it can be used in damp locations, so a bathroom would be fine for this lamp, for example. As you can see on the photos. It is possible to position the shade at the middle towards the right, to the left, or to the center. I don't know if it is because the bolt at the back needs to be tightened, or if is purposely made like that. The bolt seems to be tightened enough to me. But maybe it will be better to check this. I think it was made in USA. Because at the back, it is written in English, French and Spanish. But I can't guarantee it, since the origin is written nowhere. The bulbs to be used are the regular ones: usual size I mean. Size of the Lamp: 24" wide. 10" tall, 9" deep. It is pretty heavy. So it is better to have a sturdy wall or strong screws to use it. Condition: The brown/bronze paint needs a few touch-ups(some color is missing here and there) And there are traces of a wall paint(ivory) on the back of the lamp. A further cleaning may be necessary, and the electrical part will need to be checked

It's cast iron that's been painted gold to look like brass with four(4) FIGURAL faces, acanthus leaves, two candle holders, and a 6" bevel mirror with ever so slight imperfections ~ considering it's antique age, it's in very, very good condition. Although it is made in the style of the German Art Nouveau period, spot-welding wasn't done around 1910. Materials: The frame is made out of wrought iron elements. The entire wall lamp is made with a great love to the detail, especially the roses and leaves. The single wrought iron elements were also hand-painted. Great craftmanship! ANTIQUE OIL LAMP An Antique Oil Lamp with Bracket and Mercury Reflector. The closure on the oil lamp is marked B&H. I believe it is brass. It does not attract a magnet. The burner is marked Eagle-not sure if that was replaced. The mercury reflector measures approximately 8" across. It is in real nice shape. some age spotting. But there are not any cracks, chips, or repairs. The bracket is cast iron with a gold wash. The owner had mounted the wall mount on an oval piece of wood. The clear glass font glows green under a black light indicating the age. The total height of the lamp and shade is 13" without the bracket. The wall mount for the bracket is not correct to this piece and it doesn't quite hang perfectly straight but it came with the piece. The mercury reflector is in really nice condition with a few minor flaws. You just don't find them with the markings this one has. The clear glass font glows green under a black light indicating the age. The total height of the lamp and shade is 15" without the bracket. The bracket if 14" tall from tip to tip.
