SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Height: 278 millimeters(11 1/8 inches) Length: 232 millimeters(9 1/3 inches) Breadth: 99 millimeters(4 inches) Base: 150 x 74 millimeters(6 inches x 3 inches) 12 millimeters(1/2 inch) in thickness. CONDITION: Very good. Minor porcelain chips. There are minor chips in the porcelain glaze at the rider’s right front shoulder; to the rider’s waist, behind, center; to the back side of the horse’s right leg; at the edge of the horse’s stomach, right side, center; and at the rider’s left elbow. There is as well a scattering of minute porcelain chips throughout, and the top of the horse’s right ear is also chipped. Other than cleaning, there has been no restoration work. The minor chips could be repaired, without additional cost, if you would like our conservator to repair the chips. There remains some mild soil adhesions, small areas where soil still adheres to the statuette, despite our best efforts to clean away all soil adhesions. Of course the paint has decomposed and is powdery in those areas where the statuette was merely painted(not glazed) the rider’s head, boot, and hands. 1700's Antique Hand Painted Ceramic with 14 Karat Gold Trim Lamp
I was given this item to sell by someone I know. I'm not 100% sure about it's authenticity. But here's what I was told. This item was made around 1760 by Georg Heinrich Macheleidr, in Germany, before he actually opened his factory as a prototype. It is hand painted with 24 Karat gold trim on the handles and some of the paintwork. Originally this was a candle lamp that was converted to electricity in the early 1900's. The trademark g marking is on the inside on the bottom. Picture is included. As well, the lamp was appraised about 20 years ago for $3,200. No idea what it's current value is on the market, so going with what we know.

I purchased this lamp in 1988 at an Antique Store for $200.00 and it has appreciated in value since that time. It has been appraised at around $350.00. But I am selling for only $250.00! I had the lamp professionally re-wired and I had the brass base added to the lamp. I also constructed the lamp shade myself with a wire skeleton and I hand-glued the fabric. Fringe and gimp. The lampshade has a small tear on the inside where it is not visible This lamp is gorgeous in person and it is the perfect addition to any room as it adds color and vibrancy to your Victorian or Eclectic decorating scheme.
