Antique Clear Glass Oil Lamp with Clear Glass Globe When fully assembled about 13 inches tall. The glass globe is about 8.75 inches tall; it is 12.5 inches around at the widest circumference and tapers to about 6 inches at the narrowest point flaring slightly to finish with a fluted top. Made from molded or pressed glass. The glass base is about 4 inches tall and has a small loop handle. About 14.24 inches wide in circumference at the widest point which is a raised border at about midpoint. The bottom, which is, about 4.25 inches wide has a fancy pattern(which looks like cut glass but is not. The design is like a sunburst or flower. The metal base is about 2.25 tall and appears to be brass. It screws into a brass colored fitting at the top of the glass base. Four prongs of about 1.5 inches tall hold the glass globe in place. BEAUTIFUL 26" HIGH ANTIQUE BRASS BANQUET OIL LAMP w/ FROSTED GLOBE - ELECTRIFIED
Up for auction is this beautiful all brass banquet 26" high oil lamp that has been converted to electric. The 7" diameter brass bowl has a raised all-around floral casting on top of a rope-turned stem and 7 1/2" four legged scroll base. The removable font has been drilled to allow the electrical wiring to pass thru it and out the side of the bowl where there is also a hole drill. The electrical receptacle takes a 1" bulb insert. The wiring inside the font has been cut so additional wiring is needed to fully electrify the lamp and plug it into a wall outlet. The frosted 7 1/2" diameter glass globe is beautifully etched with crosses and stars completing the lamp. Weighs 4 lbs. before packaging. ANTIQUE RAYO Nickel 1890's OIL LAMP ELECTRIFIED ETCHED GLASS GLOBE
This was an authentic antique 1890's pedestaled RAYO lamp which originally burned oil. Many of these old lanterns have had their nickel plating polished off revealing solid brass underneath; however this one still has the nickel plating on it therefore it has the silver color. This lamp was converted from oil by replacing the wick/burner with a socket and wiring it for electricity. The electric burner holds the glass chimney. The glass shade has flowers and leaves etched on it and has a ruffled rim. I took several pictures of the shade using differing backgrounds and angles in order to capture the etched design which was difficult for the camera to pick up. Be sure to look at all the pictures. The lamp with chimney measures 21" tall. The bottom base diameter is 6" The etched glass shade is 11 1/2" in diameter at the widest ... morepoint. Antique Astral oil lamp that was converted to electric. The decorative base is brass with parts of the gilding still there. It stands on a marble base 5 3/4" square. The frosted glass globe has engraved arches and flowers. It stands 24" tall. There are no chips or cracks to the shade. And the brass has no cracks. Please disregard my answer to the question asking if there were any prisms. Thanks to an Ebayer for noting that there originally were 12 prisms. The ring has twelve tiny holes to hold prisims. Shaded cranberry glass shade with a stunning Art Nouveau repeat pattern design to the main body. The moulding to the glass is exquisite at the bottom of the shade are two rows of internal convex circles. Above this the internal moulding appears to be in vertical segments following the shape of the shade. At the same time these are interspersed by clam shell type decoration coming down from the top apperture, really hard to explain and even harder to photograph! However the overall effect is very fluid and delightful in its design. It stands approximately 18.5cm high. The apperture of the base is 10.1cm. A 4" fitter. Condition overall is excellent and the shade is free ... morefrom any hairlines. A few bubbles in the glass commensurate with the age of the glass and manufacture. Some tiny fleabites to the base fitter rim and the top opening apperture commensurate with age and use. On or two clear air bubbles and one which can be felt internally on the shade as a slightly rough tiny area as it has burst on the surface. In no way detracting from the overall beauty of this shade but mentioned for accuracy. All other visual marks in the photographs are from the light source. Needs new nightlight bulb. The cord works fine but given its age I suggest having it retired for safety. On the top fitting. You can see how the oil tank was modified to accept a light socket, and welded into place. The oil tank is still inside the lamp, visible from the bottom peek hole where the nightlight fits. The 10 inch tall and 8 inch wide Globe glass is very thick and was hand painted with what looks to be pink thistle bush plants. The base is beautiful and stylish.
