There is also signs of rust on the thumb screws as well as the chain which would need to be cleaned up. It looks as if someone had started to restore this lamp but never finished. Gothic or Victorian Glass Lamp Shades You are bidding on two beautiful Gothic or Victorian looking lamp shades. These are authentic antique shades(not reproductions) that are in excellent condition. They are hand painted in brown on the unique design. The inside top of the shade is rough with what seem like chips but it is the craftsmansh i p of these old shades. They a re heavy and solid but delicate at the same time. They stand 5 1/2" high and the base diameter is 4 3/4" at the widest edge and approx 4" at the very bottom base of the shade.
