My opinion is that the glass is Bohemian. It's quite beautiful with a heavy glass center that appears to be ruby red(I think, rather than"flashed" red) which is cut to clear in a geometric pattern. The fittings appear to be brass and the base/ foot is marble(with felt lining on bottom. A fairly large piece. The glass measures approximately 6" in diameter. The base is about 5" square. Not counting ... morethe finial, it is 18 1/4" tall. This piece appears to be in generally excellent used/old condition and- as you can see in the next to last pic- it works great. I don't see any cracks or damage on the cord. Either. However, I can not remove the harp. and I am not going to try to force it. This listing is for a beautiful banker's style desk lamp with gorgeous black glass shade and black marble and brass base. I believe the marble on the base is real as lamp is very heavy at 4.5 lbs. But the marble on the column feels faux, but I could be wrong. I believe the brass is also real as magnets do not stick to it. Black glass shade is intact and is not broken and it has no chips or cracks. The brass base is tarnished and could use a polishing. I will leave that to the new owner. PAIR OF ANTIQUE ELECTRIC AMBER FLASH CUT GLASS MARBLE BRASS LAMPS
This is pair of antique amber flash cut glass lamps. The lamps are identical and stand straight up(unlike my picutre which was taken on an angle) The glass part of the lamp looks like the old oil lamps and was probably the same pattern and one of the first electric lights. Both are in excellent condition with no nicks. Crack, or crazing on the glass. The bottom of the lamps is marble and measures approximately 4 3/4 inches square. The lamps are about 15 inches high and the glass portion is 5 1/2 inches high and 5 1/4 inches across at the widest spot. These are a rare find in such excellent condition. GORGEOUS Art Nouveau PAIRPOINT Antique Lamp Cut Glass Shade 25" High This is an exquisite example of an early Pairpoint lamp. The Pairpoint Co. originated in Massachusetts in 1880. They combined with another metal co. to begin to make lamps. The combination is just breathtaking. This is one of Pairpoints earlier examples of a frosted cut to clear glass globe shade. This lamp is just breathtaking lit up and in person. I believe the metal here is brass which has a nice patina to it. The design is Art Nouveau. There are Greek faces along the sides of this ornate metal work. I believe the base to be white marble but I am uncertain. There is a metal pull chain to turn the lamp on and it is in great working condition. The brown cord is also in great shape and is pliable. There are an ample amount of hand cut crystals dangling from the shade ... morebase all is great condition with perhaps a nick or two here and there. They are 3 3/4" in length. This is a beautiful early antique whale oil lamp that has been converted to electric. The color of the glass is a rich warm amber and the simple etched design catches the light. The lamp measures 17.5" tall from top of light socket to base. Which is 5" x 5" x 2 1/4" The bulbous part of the amber glass is 5.5" wide. The condition of the lamp is very good with just a tiny chip on the upper part of the marble base on one corner, as pictures show. It works, and just needs a harp and shade.
