Asian Reticulated Pierced Brass Ginger Jar Urn Shaped Table Lamp, 32" Tall
This is a beautiful brass lamp with an ornate reticulated pattern featuring a large Asian mark and what appears to be a pair of phoenixes on each side. The lamp has a wonderful aged brass patina and ornate pierced ginger jar or urn shape. The neck of the lamp has figural handles- we're just not certain what the figures are. The lamp stands 32" tall to the top of the finial. The porcelain urn is about 22" tall. The lamp is in good used condition with just one small dent just below one of the handles. The bronze pedestal has an aged patina and moderate discoloration, possibly corrected by polishing. I will leave the choice to polish up to the new owner, but it looks very nice the way it is. Antique Asian Ginger Jar Converted into Table Lamp over 50 Years Ago Porcelain According to the Underwriters Laboratories Issue# 24158, the lamp components were made by Robert Abbey Inc in the 1950's/ early 60's& the antique jar was converted into a lamp at that time. The ginger jar was made pre-1900's. But the exact date is unknown. The jar is Asian. Most likely Japanese The lamp measures 24" high The jar is 9" high and 7" wide The jar is blue and decorated with cherry blossoms and blue birds. Possibly peacocks. Clam shell brass finial at the top. Has wood bases at the bottom of the fixture and jar The lamp works great and has a mint power cord. The jar is in excellent condition. The lamp components and shade are in VG condition. The shade has 2 discoloration spots- a small dot and a half inch spot that are ... morenot too noticeable. antique Chinese handmade cobalt painted pottery ginger jar electric table lamp
This is a stunning antique hand made and painted Chinese ginger jar electric table lamp. the jar is much earlier than the lamp. It was once used as a ginger jar then converted. it is made by hand out of a pottery material and beautifully painted with bright cobalt color. it's very detailed and has a lovely crackling finish from age. the jar is finished with a black paired wooden base and top. it is in great working condition and measures 19 1/4 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches wide.
