Offered as found just unwrapped from an attic are an exquisite pair of cast bronze lamp with marble bases. Dual lamps. These have all the pieces from when they were dismantled years back. The lamps have the most incredible deep carvings throughout the entire stems. These have very strong attributes to that of E.F. Caldwell lamps, but are unsigned that I can see. I have seen many pairs over the years unsigned since these really don't have a place for the hallmark. In any event they are sold maker unknown. They are very heavy in weight with a touch of verdigris from sitting. The marble base sections are there as well with one small square chipped and some minor ... morenicks. This marble sections can be easily replaced right here on Ebay or have a tile company cut them for you. One stem has aged split shown in photos which doesn't effect the structural aspect and could be replaced or repaired if you felt the need. For the most part I think everything is present with the exception of a socket cap which I can't find. Again these can also be replaced. Up for sale is an antique pair of old French porcelain urns turned lamps in the Empire Style. Pieces are highly detailed with hand painted decorative scenes in blue. Rose, and gold. The decorative side handles on the urns are made of large rams' heads and horns. Lamps measure approximately 31 3/4 inches tall with a base diameter of 6 3/4 and width of 9 inches from ram to ram. Lamps are in great condition. Considering age, without major flaws. One of the lamps has a tiny factory bubble along the ram's head and some of the gilding along the top edges on both lamps is slightly fading. Lamps are not signed on the exterior. ITEM DESCRIPTION Item Description Up for your consideration is a pair of patinated metal(possibly bronze) and black marble lamps. C. 1920. The lamps are made from a converted pair of French compotes/tazza measuring 13.5" tall, 11.5" wide, and the height of the lamps from the base to the top of the socket is 29" so they are very tall. The tazza may be earlier than the lamp parts(i.e. a conversion) and I think they are c. 1870s(late French Empire) They have recently been rewired, and are ready for immediate use. Overall. The lamps are in excellent presentable condition. There is a missing piece of applique to the back of each lamp, the front pieces are intact and present. A fabulous Empire style gilt brass three light bouillotte lamp with swan form arms and a black/ gold tole shade. The shade is adjustable and in very good condition. Beautiful detailing and patina. You can place candles in the swan arms as you can see in the photos. Two electric light fittings are hidden by the tole shade. Cord has an off/on switch and pull chains for each bulb.
