This is an exceptionally example of a maiden lady in a flowing gown with long hair draping down her back. In one arm she holds a very large harp or lyre that has a figural dolphin head on it. Large Figural Silver French Art Nouveau Victorian Newel Table Lamp Jewel Shades
Offered for your consideration is a fine silvered metal newel or table lamp formed by an art nouveau lady in a dramatic pose atop a graduated black marble plinth. I suspect that the base metal is spelter. Due to the weight, but perhaps it's pewter. The lamp is about 40" high by 18" wide and has three attached hammered silver shades with crimson red jeweled medallions at the tops and beautiful beaded fringe around the lower rims composed of a mixture of clear and red beads. The shades are suspended from typically Jugendstil whiplash floral sprays. The piece is in remarkably good condition; I see no evidence of cracks or repairs. The beaded fringe on the shades is completely intact, with no missing strands I can see. The silver plating is still very presentable, although of course there are some signs of wear, likely the result ... moreof a century of cleaning& polishing by previous owners. I have not polished the lamp in the years I've owned it, as I liked the patina. The pictures make the lamp appear slightly more golden than it looks in person. That is probably because the reflective surface is picking up the color from the wallpaper and carpeting in the rooms where I took the pictures. The wiring was updated/replaced at some point and is fine, as-is. I have been using it without fear or problems. If you are the winning bidder. I want you to be thrilled with the purchase. This beautiful Le Verre Francais lamp designed by Charles Schneider has been in my family since the 1920's. We would always ask my Grandmother to turn it on when we went to visit my Grandparents. This satiny glass lamp in beautiful shades of yellows. Oranges and reds looks like a gorgeous sunrise/sunset when illuiminated. The base alone can be lit or the combination of the base and shade together may be on. Both the base and shade are signed Le Verre Francais followed by the Lorraine Cross. Bronze oil lamp with thistle theme modelled in relief. Made in France and artist signed Georges Leleu and Salon 1904. Classic Art Nouveau bronze relief. Stands 13 1/2 inches high. Round base is just under 7 1/4 inches in diameter. Superb modelling of thistles and thistle leaves sweep in typical Art Nouveau whiplashed waves around the base and then swoosh up the leg of the lamp. That curves and widens to echo the elegant curves below. Relief thistle leaves curve up the leg, ending in flowers near the shoulders. The top of the leg widens, almost like a mushroom and is similarly modelled with swooping waves and thistle flowers. The lamp has impressed signature of G Leleu and Salon 1904 on the outside rim. France and is made of the truly extraordinary opalescent glass for which the French glass masters of the era became world-renowned. Antique Pair French Style Metal Figural Art Nouveau Table Lams Man & Woman
This is a antique pair french style metal figural table lamps. These lamps have a wonderful design. Detail, and look. The lamp with the man standing on top of a world globe and he is in robe like clothing with a red bird in his hand. The entire lamp from base to top of the finial stands approx 36" The lamp with the woman also stands approx 36" tall. She is standing on a ship like steering wheel with waves coming along side the wheel. She is also in robe like clothing and has a bird in her hand. I have looked the lamps over and I do not see any breakage. There is as you see in the pictures paints loss over the figural bodies of these great lamps. They are still wonderful in the condition that they are in or you could have them refinished. Like with all antique lighting they will need to be rewired. V. de Croismare( G rande V errerie de Croismare) The brothers Eugène and Désiré Muller worked with Emile Gallé in Nancy. Around 1895 Eugène Muller began his own manufacture of art-glass in Croismare. Antique French Art Nouveau Art Glass Cameo Enamel Oil Kerosene Lamp Legras?
Beautiful art glass oil lamp. Unsigned. Believed to be french from 1910-1920's. I found a picture of a piece of Legras in one of my books that is very similar but I can't say for sure. Wide& heavy base measures 9 1/2" wide by x 5 3/4" tall to threads. With burner it measures 8" tall.The burner was converted to electric. Knob is missing. Burner probably need to be replaced. I bought it because of the glass. Glass is a beautiful sea foam or bluish-green color. Gold enameling accents the the top& bottom of the base. No chips or cracks. The glass does has a dark mark that measures 2" long at the base(see last 2 pics) I have made no attempt to remove it. Not noticeable from the front. No chips or cracks. Up for auction is an absolute beautiful Art Nouveau cast lady lamp with mirror. Does not have the original shade and electrical cord. I am a collector of the arts and crafts movement and picked up this piece about 20 years ago at an estate sale and am ready to depart from her. The cord has a break in it(see photo) but it worked up until the break just recently. The glass shade looks like it was replaced at one time but it is the original shade when I purchased it 20 yrs ago. The lamp has a wonderful patina to her and she might be bronze but more than likley a casted piece. She does weight over 15 lbs. I really don't know if she is caste bronze. The leaves and rod that hold the lamp are bronze. She stands 30" H and and 11 1/4" wide. Her upraised arms support a nautilus shell that shades the lamp. The shade is framed with reed leaves and a decorative coil. Marked: This beautiful lamp is not marked. The quality speaks for itself and its French origin. CONDITION: No cracks or scaling. The original verdigris finish is largely intact. The only wear to the finish is on her left arm. The shell is luminous, iridescent and undamaged. The brown plastic covered wiring is probably forty years old and beginning to stiffen. The brass candelabra size socket should be replaced. Beautiful antique french art nouveau figural dressing table lamp from the early 1900s. The lady leans over an oval wreath ornamented with intricately cast flowers and leaves. A large flower blooms at her feet. This lamp is in wonderfull antique condition with part of one finger missing and a scratch in her arm. These are in the pictures for you to see but are barley noticeable. The lamp has been rewired and works beautifully. The felt on the bottom has been partially peeled off. Art Nouveau French Ormolu-Mounted Crystal Cut Glass Urn Lamp-Possibly Baccarat
Beautiful Art Nouveau lamp with richly cut crystal urn set in what appears to be gilded bronze. With handles shaped like flowing vines and flowers. Probably early 20th century. It has no manufacturer's mark, but the design, weight, and quality lead me to think that Baccarat is the most likely candidate. The height of the lamp adjusts from about 33" to 38" including the finial. Allowing it to accommodate different sized shades. I am unsure if the finial is original, but like the lamp itself, it is very heavily leaded crystal. The height of the lamp to the top of the handles is about 18.25" The wiring is newer and both sockets are functional. The bottom is covered in green felt. The metal trim around the base is soldered in place and some of the solder has separated. I imagine the metal used to be a brighter gold color and ... morehas lost some of its gilding due to age and surface wear. The crystal looks superb- no damage other than some small scratches and a black spot on the inside(pic#8) The shade is not included. RARE ANTIQUE FRENCH ART NOUVEAU IRON VINE IN BRASS EPERGNE VASE FLOOR LAMP 61"
We are pleased to offer this beautiful. And somewhat rare, antique floor lamp. This towering(61" lamp dates to the early 1900s and features superb details in French Art Nouveau style. The lamp features scrolled wrought iron with an opened, birdcage base. There are 3 blooms on the base which can be used to house taper candles. A large, brass epergne vase extends from the base to about mid point of the lamp. The vase is bronze colored with some muted golden highlights. Gesso accents are present on the vase as well, though some of the gesso has come off over the years. There are 5 tall, willowy vines emerging from the vase. Three of the vines have ribbed leaves and the two tallest vines have smooth leaves. The blooms on the vines house the sockets. The lamp is quite striking and very sculptural in appearance. The original lampshade was misplaced the last time we moved. These lampshade is a replacement. But it works fine. 28” from base to top of lampshade. 10” in diameter at the base.
