This is an absolutely gorgeous antique lamp. The brass body panel has an orchard scene with people finely dressed. Topiary trees, birds, and floral wreaths. It is stunning. I don't know if they would have cast the metal or pressed the pattern in. The collar is also finely detailed with a floral pattern and the on/off switch is also brass and turns. The harp and finial are also brass. The overall measurement is 24.75 inches tall. Lamp has a cloth cord and would benefit from rewiring but it does work currently. Gorgeous antique French Barbola Floor Lamp! This is a truly magnificent antique floor lamp. A very fine example. Wonderful original condition. The lamp works great also. This ornate antique lamp is beautifully detailed. 3 curly horn rams heads. With swags of fruit, are nicely hand painted with wonderful colors and detail. The nice brass sockets. Fittings, and finial, are all in beautiful condition, with warm patina. Deeply carved scrolls. Flutes, and acanthus leaves are all trimmed with gold. The green medallions on the base are carefully painted to resemble stone or jade. This is in very good condition. No cracks. No major chips, just very acceptable minor signs of age and use. Beautiful Antique Chinese Late Qing Dynasty Export large hand carved"jade" bird mounted as lamp on carved rosewood base. This is in turn mounted on two pierced repousse brass platforms. The carving itself dates to the late 1800s and I believe it was made into a lamp in the late 1920s an this was quite the fashion during that Gilded Art Deco Era. The height to top of finial is 24" Sculpture and wooden base measure 11 1/4" The stone is often referred to as jade. But is more correctly fluorite or green quartz. Beautiful gradations of color. Varies from deep sea green to aqua depending on light. Normal cracks are inherent to this beautiful stone. Very fine detailing to the head and wings produced from one solid piece. Upper part is solid and niche is created below for access to internal light. One can barely fit ones fingers ... morein niche to replace bulb. The whole piece weighs over 5 pounds. great antique condition-there are some sharp edges in the midsection. Is a family heirloom no changes in all the years we have owned. Antico lampadario in legno e color oro con figure mitologiche. 3 lampade in corrispondenza delle bocche delle figure mitologiche e una in alto. Il lampadario è stato pulito e restaurato(la testa di una delle tre figure è stata reincollata) Presenta dei difetti di età. Le figure mitologiche hanno una sola ala. Per tutte infatti l'ala sinistra è andata perduta. Chiedete se avete bisogno di ulteriori fotografie per visualizzare dei dettagli in particolare. Il lampadario è molto vecchio. We are pleased to offer this antique table lamp for auction. This beauty stands an impressive 25 inches tall to the top of the brass finial. And the shade measures 18 inches in diameter with a 3 ¼ inch fitter. Both the shade and base are unmarked. But date to sometime in the 1920’s or 30’s. The base is a cast iron in composition and has the original painted bronze finish with a rich. Warm patina. The finish is nearly 100% with just a small loss around the edge of the base. The shade as mentioned is unmarked. The glass has a satin finish with a reverse painted decoration. Gentle pastel hues of rose and purple were used to make the chrysanthemum blooms seemingly come to life. This shade is free from any cracks. This is a very unusual lamp and I have never seen one like this before, that being said I have no. Idea of how it is hung on the wall. It has two pieces. The lamp itself which is some kind of metal and it has floral designs on both sides, The next piece is what is referred to as a medallion and it too is metal and also has a floral design on it. Antique Unusual Art Nouveau High Victorian Large Leaded Glass Lamp. Very Fine, Here is a an unusual Art Nouveau leaded glass lamp. This is a fine example of high Victorian. I have not seen this lamp before. And do not know which company created this. It is gorgeous if you admire the style. The highly ornate base has copper extensions that connect with the shade with screws. The lamp is large with the shade measuring 18 inches across and about 28 inches high. The condition is very good. There are just a couple of leaded pieces that show minor separation from the lead; this is pictured. There may be a piece or two of glass with the usual stress crack. The finial has amethyst glass crystals; the top amethyst crystal is in place but not tightly. I have not found a company mark on the shade or base. Please email with questions. Antique Bigelow Kennard Fine Leaded Stained Art Glass Table Lamp All Original
T his is a large. Elegant, original and very rare* Bigelow Kennard of Boston leaded glass and bronze table lamp with all its original signature parts and 280 pieces of carefully chosen glass which have been leaded to form the shade. It dates from around 1906. This lamp has been in my immediate family since the fall of 1975 when it was purchased from a fine art antique shop in Chicago. I have really enjoyed having this beautiful lamp for all these years and it is time to let another enjoy it. I have written that it is"very rare' because the shade and the base are the original match to one another as shown in a magazine article photo about Bigelow Studios( please see photo 11. And the article info below) About the company: The Bigelow Kennard& Co. of Boston was one of the leading merchants of Boston in the 19th and early 20th century. ... moreSelling very high-quality domestic and imported glass, silver and clocks. John Bigelow founded the firm around 1824 and was soon joined by his brothers, Alanson and Abraham Bigelow. In 1830, they were known as Bigelow Brothers. But when Martin Parry Kennard of Brookline joined the firm around 1846 the company became known as Bigelow Brothers& Kennard until 1863. Then from 1863 to 1972 it was Bigelow Kennard& Co. For a buyer this is a wonderful piece of"hard proof" provenance: An 8-page article on the Bigelow Studios appeared in the“New Series. Volume XLI September 1909— February, 1910” edition of"New England Magazine, An Illustrated Monthly. On page 517 there is a photograph that shows this base and finial with this shade. Because this original photo was supplied directly to and for use explicitly in this article by the Bigelow Studios( as indicated in the caption) It is positive proof that this lamp’s highly ornate and very substantial base is original to this shade and its finial, and may in fact be a"limited edition" as there are no records to be found of another lamp like this one. The tazza may be earlier than the lamp parts(i.e. a conversion) and I think they are c. 1870s(late French Empire) They have recently been rewired, and are ready for immediate use. Overall. The lamps are in excellent presentable condition. There is a missing piece of applique to the back of each lamp, the front pieces are intact and present.
