The feet are embellished with stylised acanthus leaves with an open rectangular arch topped with a small turned finial. These sections are ormolu and bolt onto the cubodial bodies of the lamps. A central cubodial section is raised on a stepped plinth with a smaller stepped top. The front panel has the on/off toggle switch with knurled brass keeper ring. An elaborately decorated pressed brass cone connects the base to the elegant long brass cylinders that support the the two bayonet fittings. The bayonet fittings are from different manufactures. Each is stamped with its manufacturers mark. Up for consideration is a vintage Louis XVI Ram heads lamp with hoofs and marble base. The lamp measures 27 inches. No finial. The lamp has 6 larger sockets.and an on off switch at the base. The very bottom is made of green marble the center of the lamp is terracotta and the upper assembly is a mixture of metals. There probably was a extension from the center not upwards which held a shade. This really is a Neoclassical type lamp. It is very heavy and rather large. It probably had a Mica shade.
