You are bidding on a large brass oil lamp column base. The column is fluted supporting a decorative capital which has a beaded top and threaded inset for the under font. The internal diameter of the thread is 7/8” The column is supported on a conical beaded/stepped base which is decorated with deep raised folate decoration. ASTRAL/SOLAR LAMP ORNATE FACES COLUMN MARBLE BASE NON ELECTRIFIED
For your viewing from our Astral lamp collection is this wonderful unusual Astral lamp that has a double step marble base and a round etched glass shade. The shade has minor roughness at the top edge with 1 small edge flea bite chip. We have been collecting Astra/Solar lamps for over 40 years and have been thinning our collection of over 13 of them and this one has the most unusual and ornate columns of any lamp we have ever owned. The top of the column has a large face on each side and appears to be some type of mythical character. It then narrows and widens again a this wider point are 2 smaller faces on each side and there is a pleated style head band just below the face similar to those that the early Romans wore in the 15th or 16th century. Then as it spreads out in a square bottom there are 4 more faces at each point with the same pleated ... morestyle collar only under the neck they way early royalty wore in the 15th and 16th century. The rest of the column is filled in with berries and leaves it is amazing how intricate this was made over 130 years ago. The marble base is in excellent condition no chipping or cracks. It has never been electrified but does not retain the original burner it has been replaced with a later oil burner. The height with the shade is 22" the base alone is 13" it has 12 colonial style prisms that are 6" long including the bobeche top and has a 5 1/2" fitter. The upper marble base is 6" lower base is 4" Sometime in its past it appears a very not in the know person put a candle in the oil reservoir and let it melt on the the body and it appears to be burnt wax I did not try to remove it I think with heat in that area it should be easily removed when the shade is on it is not at all noticeable and does not distract from it beauty. An original spelter and brass Victorian Corinthian column oil lamp base. This base has a very elegant cast spelter base and corinthian capital. With a brass column. The rose piece is a standard No 10 size having a medium screw thread of 20 t.p.i. and an internal diameter of 23mm. Width of base is just under 7 inches. Height is 12 1/2 inches. Weight is 2090 grams. Has been lightly cleaned and polished. Ready for use.

ORIGINAL MASSIVE CORINTHIAN COLUMN BASE for an OIL LAMP.
An original massively built Victorian Corinthian column oil lamp base. This had been previously drilled for electric. A very small hole had been drilled in the top section of the stepped base. We have disguised this by adding 4 small decorative brass spheres and the whole base has been cleaned and lightly polished. The original center rod has been retained complete with it's butterfly nut. The base is unusual in that instead of the normal cast iron loading the entire bottom stepped base is one massive casting. The reeded tube is 1 3/4 inch diameter. Overall height is 14 1/2 inches. Up for sale is a fantastic vintage solid marble column lamp with brass base and accent pieces. I recently acquired this from a local estate sale. Lamp still works great! From top to bottom its 36" tall and weighs close to 20 pounds. It is solid marble. This is an absolutely gorgeous piece. At first glance I thought this was a 60/70s era lamp but the guy I purchased it from said it was an Art Deco piece. I'm not 100% positive of exactly how old it is. Beautiful 19th C. oil lamp, pink milk glass font, marble column base no vaseline
19th C. oil lamp. The brass-mounted turned marble column base supporting a glass font with vertical stripes of milk glass, graduating from white at the base to pink at the top. The stripes have a vey"vaseliney" look to them, but I have tested this with a black-light and it does not fluoresce like true vaseline glass. Total height to the top of the burner is 14 1/2" 37cm) the diametre of the font is 4 3/4" 11.5cm) and the brass burner is just over 2" 5cm) across at the widest point, to take a 2" fitter shade. The brass parts are lightly tarnished(easily buffed up if so desired) and there is a small split on one side of the brass collar at the top of the marble column(photo No.8) otherwise in very good condition, with everything working as it should. The font has a pierced basket weave design with embossed cartouches, the base is also pierced with a border of embossed flower heads. It’s very heavy(weighs almost 12 lbs. on a postal scale! and measures 25-1/2” high to the top edge of the burner(27-3/4” to the top edge of the burner) x 35-7/8” to the top of the chimney. The lamp has been electrified by drilling through the bottom of the burner with the cord running through the column and between the raised feet. It has an inline switch to turn on& off accessed/hidden under the base and although it’s currently working will need to be professionally re-wired as with all antique and vintage lighting.
