There are flat grooved columns on each side with hooks at top, they are connected ... moreto back with a shelf. Applied carving adorns the crest with hook on each side. Instead of the typical lift up lid there is a large drawer at the bottom w. brass handle pull. on the left side behind column is an umbrella holder with original drip pan. The shaped beveled mirror is original, hence there are a few spots and streaks, but doesn't detract from the looks. Total width, including umbrella holder, is 39" depth is 18" height is 80-1/2" We have not refinished this hall tree, the finish appears to be original and is quite good, the piece is structurally strong as well. Chapman Pineapple Form Table Lamp, Circa Mid-1900's
This lamp was made by the Chapman Manufacturing Company during the middle half of the 20th century. It is made of heavy plaster in the form of a pineapple finial on a plinth base. The finial to the lamp is original and made of a lightweight plastic. It sits on top of a Berger swivel harp with the patent number 2270497 which was issued in 1940. In very nice condition. The lamp has a tiny shallow chip on one vertical edge of the base and a tiny flat paint chip at the bottom of the base. These could easily be touched up with a flat black paint if desired. There is also a tiny paint chip to one of the high points of the pineapple and a little loss of paint to the finial. These areas are shown in the pictures. This lamp is 32 inches to the top of the finial, 16 inches to the top of the pineapple, and 20 inches to the top of the socket. The base ... moreis 4-3/8 inches square and the lamp is approximately 5-1/4 inches across at the widest point. The wiring is original and may need changing. Antique Brass Wall Hanging Double Candle Sconce with Mirror Circa 1900
An antique brass wall hanging candle sconce with a central circular mirror. As you can see from the photos the brass is decorated with scrolls. Leaves and berries. There are 2 sconces for holding the candles. The mirror is held in place from the back by a cast iron bracket. There is a hook on the back so that it can be hung from the wall. I would imagine this sconce dates to circa 1900. Condition. Very good. Just the odd minor bend to the edge but nothing that can really be seen from the front. There are some light scratches to the mirror. I have had this wall sconce professionally polished and lacquered so it will stay shiny for years. The sconces detach for easy transportation. Up for auction is a very nice pair of Porcelain Candlestick Boudior lamps with floral chintz motif. They where made around the turn of the century and are stamped with an early dark red mark on the bottom. The lamps are in excellent working condition. But we do recommend you rewire. The electric wires are old and brittle. These are both hand painted on porcelain with very nice footed brass stands. The lamps are approximately 10 inches in height with shades a little taller. This is a Syria. Mamluk Table Lamp, Islamic Middle East Style. It is Pierced Brass and weights about 17 lbs. From the middle onion shape of the lamp is 13 inches wide. It's very close to being perfect. But under close inspection you can see an extremely shallow pinhead size nick on the flat top and a faint and shallow 1/4" refraction coming off the top at the point where the seam of the handle meets the body. It's just under the surface and has no more than 1/16" depth. It really is hard to see and I almost missed it. The lines that you can see in the photos are all lines of color that you typically get with these. This one happens to have a lot of them and only makes it a bit more interesting. It is a reprint, but the originals make up to £900, so it is the cheapest way to get hold of useful reference material. Not actually dated. But it has a lamp which refers to Baden-Powell's actions at Mafeking, so post 1900, likely pre 1905. 120 pages including the covers. The original catalogue had lost a page or two and had sections cut out of some other pages. Of course, this would devalue an original, but the copy is still a great reference volume. The original masters for this were made some 20 years ago and the original has been lost since. So copy quality is not as crisp as it might be if scanned from the original today. Rare one of a kind floor lamp. This light has creatures attacking each other. It also has hammered copper around base. The copper was split at some time and has been repaired. The copper is wrapped around a wooden housing. The creatures are brass or bronze. They where created. I was told, by a mold. Only one was made. Measures 62 inches tall. Base is heavy and bronze or brass. Base is 11 inches in diameter. the creatures, end to end are 9 inches across. The end of the creature to the light is 14 inches. Lovely. Hurricane style lamp. This was an oil lamp from early 1900's which has been converted to a regular lamp. Top is glass with a green and yellow handpainted, raised floral design and ruffled top. Has a long cord. Lamp is approx. 19" tall. I've tested it and it does work. Very pretty, dainty lamp.
