Large Vintage Pottery Ceramic Kutani Lamp - Peacocks - Flowers - Made in Japan
Selling a beautiful big lamp which was made in Japan- we had to lift the ceramic part up to check the wiring and discovered that underneath there is a little blue and white Made in Japan sticker. The ceramic portion of the lamp has been decorated with the traditional Kutani peacocks- the peacocks. Chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, and other flowers have been enhanced with gold. Beautifully decorated and will enhance your decor! The lamp stands about a foot tall to the top of the part in which the bulb is placed. The base measures about 6 inches by 4-3/8 inches. The base is in the traditional Japanese stand shape. And I believe it is made from wood but I am not certain. Please see photos for condition! Up for auction I have this Large Retro 1960's Danish Modern Mid Century Modern with Danish Walnut upper post and Green Mottled Drip Glaze Ceramic Pottery lamp. Lamp does have a metal brown base. Measurements: 26"s tall top of socket- to final top is 34's has a Berger swivel final 6 1/4' base body is 7 1/3' diameter Condition: Excellent having no chips. No cracks, excellent color and shine in glaze, wood is in excellent condition with no wear. As with most ceramic/pottery there may be fluctuations in glaze, a thin spot, raised spot under glaze, a glaze pop or crazing. The lamps overall condition is excellent, having only 2 tiny glaze pops( hard to see) there is also crazing. Note: O riginal wiring in working condition. the cord is still pliable with no apparent cracking or exposed wire.
